I'm so glad that people who are HIV positive are being so responsible. Making sure you're safe and taking medication to be undetectable is wonderful. Good luck in your life and I hope it's a happy one.
@sam singh Sometimes it's not their fault. I've met people who were lied to by their long-term partners and one who had issues with blood transfer (long story). Stop your prejudice.
I've noticed a few comments about how stigma is good as a deterrence but I'm inclined to think stigma causes people to not disclose their status and thus are likely to spread it more. And I think some people don't get checked because they are too scared to know for sure so they keep spreading it. If it's less of a stigma then people can be open about it and potential partners can make an informed choice whether to have a relationship or not.
The rates of promiscuity would be less, in part, if they didn't suffer of higher rates of depression and anxiety, or youth poverty. Sexual behavior doesn't come out of a vacuum. Sex is about something. Being wanted, being loved, being enough. Gay people were never raised until recently to believe they were okay as they were. Of course that doesn't mean I am condoning unsafe sex, but I'm just trying to explain the higher rates of sexual partners Sammy.

hello everyone i really cannot apply anymore in airlines here in the philippines because im HIV positive my whole career was ended, hopefully they can accept people like me,
Very moving, and I can relate. It especially pains me to see gay men rejecting each other in this day and age knowing that HIV is not a death sentence at all. I have a feeling most gay men know that, but its the fear of being ostracized themselves that compels them to run from poz men. Starting in the 90s gay men did everything to not look sick which gay birth to the modern gym-culture movement for better and worse, for it created another level for gay men to have to reach in order to be acceptable to other gay men. All of this did not exist pre-AIDS. We were more one big family then.
It is spreading because, in spite of being educated about the risk of HIV, even people in high risk groups choose to take the risk of having unprotected sex

I have a question If you did not have HIV would you feel like it was dirty and nasty and not want the disease bc I feel now people use prep is just an excuse it be all over the place
I agree that people with HIV shouldn’t be viewed as dirty, but I don’t want the rhetoric in the push for no stigma to lead to people feeling like contracting HIV isn’t an issue because it’s just something a pill can fix.
You couldn’t of said it better. There should be a stigma and shame towards it. I don’t think after the fact of someone contracting it is necessary (that’s just fucked up) but I think promiscuity should be shamed and stigmatized. Unfortunately we live in a society where it’s praised and condoned. We’ve gotten to a point that shaming a prostitute, I mean “sex worker” labels you a hateful insensitive bigot 🙄 gtfo of here
At the end of the day it comes down to choices (unless raped etc) and we all have a choice to protect ourselves in most situations. And you have to accept the fact the you have to live with the poor choices as well as the good ones. Yet you want sympathy and acceptance for your bad choices as well.... counter intuitive!!!
Barnziee dude I swear I hate all you pathetic low life ignorant people. Because someone made a poor choice and forgets to use a condom and gets the virus, they should be shamed and live isolated with no love for the rest of their life? Do you say any of these things in real life? Do you go to the HIV/AIDS walk or conventions and express your way of thinking? Of course not
I 100% agree with you. Just like a drug addict who gets put on the streets, do we see people comforting him/her saying he’s brave? Hell no, they’re the most shit on and people talk shit about them all the time so f*** all this virtue signaling. Good comment btw :)
Romans 10:9 King James Version 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved John 3:16 King James Version 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 1 Corinthians 15 The Resurrection of Christ 15 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
Not to be rude but people should be using condoms and not sharing needles. It is kind of your own fault for having it. You don’t get to complain about something you did to yourself. As a gay man would never want to risk getting HIV it is not discriminatory to protect yourself. You should not shame people into feeling like they have to sleep with someone that has HIV, no one owes you anything.
What a disgusting thing to say. Give your head a shake and stop being such a dick. Nobody wants to get a disease, and for you to say "It is kind of your own fault for having it" is an insensitive, cruel and unnecessary thing to say. What's wrong with you? Are you entirely incapable of feeling empathy? If a pedestrian was distracted and stepped off a sidewalk without checking both directions, would you blame for their injuries if they were hit by a vehicle? If the victim sustained life-threatening injuries would you look down at them and say "It is kind of your own fault. You don't get to complain about something you did to yourself." Or do you only reserve that kind of contempt for people with HIV?
Der Panda i think the point is not that it shouldnt be treated as a bad thing, but that treating people who are hiv positive shouldnt be ostricized or shunned by society
I know how you feel my social anxiety is just so bad hate the way I feel about life nervous to even comment on this post.., as it’s hard being a woman that’s unwell people seem to judge you even harder Wish I’d never told anyone I was sick nothing positive has ever come from it only more hate hurt and pain… for me or anyone iv told it’s a lonely life been on my own 10 years as don’t want to be a burden to anyone’s life yet feels like I still am and never asked to be lied to to get in this situation I’m in 😞x
Medication can make HIV undetectable (it won't be passed on). If you're with someone with HIV you can get prEP on the NHS which prevents you from contracting HIV if exposed. Proper usage of condoms also prevents exposure to a viral load. It's very safe nowadays, however I do understand why someone would be hesitant to date someone with HIV
People living with HIV are just as guilty when it comes to stigma. Let me put it this way when was the last time you attend a HIV Support Group and got taken into another room and told you couldn't talk about the affects the antivirals were having on you're diabetes especially as it was the antivirals that triggered it.
@usher luck Hi the Husher thank you for your reply.I hope you didn't feel bad about what I wrote. I live in London and I set up H.A.D off my own back, I don't get any funding. I'm in the process of setting up a website. By rights when you go for your HIV appointments they should automatically test for diabetes. I'm on Facebook if you want to know more. I know how you fell about being stigmatised. Believe it or not I've had more issues over my diabetes than my HIV and the stigma has come from people living with HIV.
If you got diagnosed with HIV, why are you going on Grindr? Not saying you shouldn’t be on Grindr if you’re positive but these types of apps hold major risk factors and greatly increases your chance of becoming HIV positive due to the numerous sexual partners. All this virtue signaling and telling this man how brave he is, isn’t making a difference.
Not going to lie. I just steer clear of ppl with HIV if I know they have it. Not that I dislike them or have anything against them. Just why put yourself in that situation and here comes everybody like why cant you be friends?? Because I dont want to.. it's my choice.
Dillon Micheals Alex Wilby you aren’t educated. Medicine today helps treat HIV to the point of becoming undetectable within 3 months. Undetectable meaning not being able to transmit the virus even if you have unprotected sex.
Dillon Micheals these millions of people walking round with hiv an don’t even no they have it so be careful with your words one day you might find you have it grow up

I don’t think after the fact of someone contracting it is necessary (that’s just fucked up) but I think promiscuity should be shamed and stigmatized. Unfortunately we live in a society where it’s praised and condoned. We’ve gotten to a point that shaming a prostitute, I mean “sex worker” labels you a hateful insensitive bigot 🙄 gtfo of here
Sam Crawford well you don’t have to be promiscuous to catch disease
All thanks to Dr Abiola on RUclips for curing me permanently from HIV with his herbal medicine 💕
People r born with it too doofus
But have y’all heard of ligma?
How did he become HIV positive
Why is that important in relation to his dignity?
Izol hook up
Oh my god
How sad
sukma is as bad as this
lmao I read the title as "Living With Ligma”
Romans 10:9
King James Version
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved
John 3:16
King James Version
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 Corinthians 15
The Resurrection of Christ
15 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.
❤
I think I could take 2 u as I feel your pain,
Not to be rude but people should be using condoms and not sharing needles. It is kind of your own fault for having it. You don’t get to complain about something you did to yourself. As a gay man would never want to risk getting HIV it is not discriminatory to protect yourself. You should not shame people into feeling like they have to sleep with someone that has HIV, no one owes you anything.
Ryan Oud I’m gay too and 100% agree with you. Smart dude! Take it easy.
Yeah. You just have to live with the consequences.
U=U
yea the new sports cars moto buys out of your tax money and advertising and human traffic ect
Stigma towards a completely life changing, life threatening and incurable disease is bad?
Der Panda i think the point is not that it shouldnt be treated as a bad thing, but that treating people who are hiv positive shouldnt be ostricized or shunned by society
Rebeka S. Bingo
Der Panda you wouldn’t be saying that if you were in their shoes, karma is very real.
I know how you feel my social anxiety is just so bad hate the way I feel about life nervous to even comment on this post.., as it’s hard being a woman that’s unwell people seem to judge you even harder
Wish I’d never told anyone I was sick nothing positive has ever come from it only more hate hurt and pain… for me or anyone iv told it’s a lonely life been on my own 10 years as don’t want to be a burden to anyone’s life yet feels like I still am and never asked to be lied to to get in this situation I’m in 😞x
"there's no reason not to get with someone[sic] because they're HIV positive"
what....?
@@agoldenlessoninpatientcare3266
that's what happened when you have unprotected sex
Even without sex a person can have it too
@@nagavenisv9598 yea ith bloof

Dillon Micheals these millions of people walking round with hiv an don’t even no they have it so be careful with your words one day you might find you have it grow up
Wow nice excuse lmfao
Just be thankful you don't have ligma
Chilly Willy What?
It’s stigma well earned.
Disgusting comment.
That's the gay lifestyle, but God wants more for you.
AWResistance to be good and kind to each other regardless or a person's past or sexuality.
AWResistance really? What is other? War?
Most people infected with HIV are straight.
