Can't wait to try this Abi , I just got my overlocker after watching your review of the Jaguar 2015DF . I have been sewing for a long time but never seriously thought about getting an overlocker until recently. I was thinking about getting the Lidl one but your review of the Jaguar made me reconsider. So now I am proud owner of an overlocker , cannot wait to play with it over the weekend!
@@AbisDen I did !. It's slightly different from the 2015DF visually, the needle tension dials are round but the guy told me it's exactly the same in everything else. Got it for £249 with a free Jaguar bag.
@@AbisDen Do you think I'd be able to thread the Jaguar with arthritic, gnarling hands? I manage sewing and embroidery machine ok now that I have the brother easier hoops, and push lever threader. I was really struggling with the 1250.
I bought the Lidl overlocker last week - my first overlocker- so been watching a lot of your videos. I tried a three thread rolled hem today and it came out great. I've been making lots of leggings for my daughters 😄 - so easy! I'm addicted! Can't believe I've been sewing 20+ years and never bought one earlier! Hoping to try out this flatlock stitch soon 👍
Thanks Abi. Im using an overlocker for the first time, even tho ive been sewing for 40yrs+. Youre like my own personal tutor that i can pause and rewind 😁😁.
Another great video Abi - many thanks! I have never tried flat lock seams, so I will give this a go. I was pleased you used a contrasting thread (green), that made it very clear what to expect.
Thank you, I really like the way you go into the why's and wherefore's so I can really understand what's happening, as I'm a new overlocker owner. Really love my Jaguar 489 and enjoyed watching your review of it. It's as quiet as my sewing machine which surprised me, and it's easy to thread, which, after all the horror stories I've heard, is a relief!
Thank you for this video this adapter came with my machine. Unfortunately the manual did not say how to use the attachment. I love the way you showed hot to properly attach, set tension and showed a sample application. Great information!
@@AbisDen My husband walked in, sat down and said, "What you have had your serger for how long? Really there is something you don't know about it? " I love your videos so helpful. you are very knowledgeable about sewing, design and machine maintenance! Keep it coming girl! We love Abi's Den in the USA!
I've wanted to try this for awhile, and I'm about to do some bralettes for my daughters. It'll be fun to experiment here and get some professional results! Thanks for this!
Hi Abbie. Loved the Vlog. I was disappointed to find that my new Brother overlocker M343D won’t take the adapter or I would have tried this out. I would love to be in the draw for the brilliant sewing machine. Regards Sandra. X
Thanks again Abi for a great lesson. I was struggling to understand the the stitch width..that isn't really the stitch width...that wee black button that turns and changes the width for the knife to cut...I've got it now..and this lesson I'm going to practice. I have bought some swimwear lining. I want to use it as underling in a pencil skirt, this will help reduce any lines showing through! I've got my Silver crest Lidl sewing machine..and now my Lidl Singer SO10L too...I'm getting to learn my server better with your help..thank you ..stay safe, happy sewing xx 💞
Hi Abi, I have a singer over locker and the only stitch I have managed to do is a flat lock stitch. I tried to make a dress but I don’t want it to do a flat lock stitch, is it possible to do this. Just a nice tight neat overlocked seam. Thank you .
Oh my goodness, I have got a whole lot of learning to do with the overlocker, this tip is great I can't wait to get practising this technique. Thank you xx
I have the 14sh754 from Lidi how it has changed my sewing, no way would I had the money to buy the Jaguar. This machine was just right for me, wish I have had it years ago.
Do the looper adjusters work on all overlock machines, I have Toyota and Brother overlocking machines, love gadgets and would really love to try this technique?
Thanks Abi, looks a great technique. Unfortunately lighting wasn't brilliant, I think the camera was struggling to find optimum setting, so couldn't see much of the essential detail. Hoping you'll do more on this subject as it looks a great option and technique. Take care, stay safe x
I need to work on the lighting or maybe redo. My table lamp has been stolen by one of the munchkins and I think I need to reclaim it don’t I? I’ll see what I can do. Thanks for letting me know ... and I was thinking, maybe as Christmas craft fairs aren’t on this year, we could run a series of handmade gifts? What do you think?
I've never used an overlocker, but I came across you and you've tickled my interest. Will watch more. My sewing machine came with a side cutter but I've not tried it with stretch fabric,. I'll try it out but I don't have differential feed so I'm not sure, I still may need one yet.
@@AbisDen Handmade gifts are always welcome. I think of them as giving both ends. The maker enjoys making and the receiver enjoys the product, win win.
@@nannyval I've seen those side cut attachments and they look good. Not sure they'd be helpful with anything stretch. If you're into sewing, you'd definitely love an overlocker. The Singer Abi shows is a great model, and for that price, why wouldn't you, again if you're a sewer 😊
@@colin101981 I have arthritis in my hands ( waiting for operation, although covid has put a stop on it for now) so I don't think I'd be very good at threading deep into the recesses of an overlocker, they (my hands)shake amongst other things,. But I did wonder about the jaguar that Abi showed last week as the front opened right up, making it accessible. My manual tells me to make sure I use stretch stitch when using side cutter with stretch fabric, (sounds promising) so I'm going to try, but I must finish current project first though. I'm itching to try it. It worked well with cotton fabric when I gave it a try but that was well over a year ago and only a test as I went through the manual trying all the feet.
Abi’s Den Oh I see, I think! I have an older version of the Jaguar you demonstrated and I don’t think their converter fits it which is a shame as the machine itself is fantastic. I was hoping that I could work out a fix but your explanation would suggest not.

Brilliant as always. Thank you for yet another super instructional video. I must practice this on baby clothes.
Brilliant demo. I had forgotten the overlocker did that flat seam. Thank you.
Thank you for that tip, I would never have even thought one could do that by stretching it open, just amazing.
Thanks again Abi :)
I have told several of my friends about this overlocker, and I will show them your video.
😊thank you Nikolai 🌷
Wish I had found your demos earlier so clear and helpful. Thank you Abi

I’m sorry about the dark images of the stitching. They showed up on my screen but people struggle to see them. Do you think I should redo?

Thanks for sharing Your knowledge. I have purchased The Singer S010L and I don’t know which presser feet are compatible. You can help me?
Just love your demos I am learning so so much thank you🤗

I am intrigued at what the adaptor actually does. The looper still moves so why can’t you just ignore it and not thread it?
Needle thread tries to chain around UL and then undoes the chain the LL forms with the needle, and you end up with no chain. So you need it

Does it mean we can use overlocker instead of normal machine ?
You can, but the stitches show, so match the thread ☺️
