Baby wrens nesting - 9 days in 10 minutes

  • It's fascinating how much these baby wrens changed in just nine days of filming. See how they grow day by day, over the course of just over a week.
    Their hard-working mother is amazing - day after day, she worked tirelessly to feed them larger morsels as they grew. Even in the day after flying the nest, she continued to feed her fledglings as they came to terms with life outside. After a day or so spent exploring the flower beds, the birds nested in a nearby tree before making their way into the wider world.
    This was filmed from a safe distance using a telephoto lens. I apologise for the lack of light in some clips - the nest was often in shadow, and I did not want to disturb the birds by attempting to get closer.

    Thank you for sharing! Great seeing a video that is in current year. I have a wren nest at the neck of the internet dish. She laid her 1st egg on 6/7/20 and has a total of four. Looking forward for the babies to hatch and fledge when its time.
