Rock N Roll greatest rock song ever written and performed! Should be the Lions song when they go to the Super Bowl Theme Song this year.

Best Mitch Ryder tribute band I’ve heard yet. The singer really channels Billy Levise. Do you believe the sound Jim McCarty gets out of his Fender Twin Reverb!?! Johnny Bee was always a very special and smokin’ drummer. 🙏

Mitch was lucky to find such talent in the Motor City Area. Later groups featured Mark Schein (lead-gold top Les Paul Deluxe) and Mark Grudgeon (bass- Fender Jazz). I saw Mitch in Atlanta in 1981... blew me away. The audience had been sitting in chairs and I went up front next to the stage before they started playing. After the first song, everyone left their seats and filled in beside and behind me. People had come from as far away away as Kentucky to see Mich Ryder for that one night.

The Mitch Ryder "Detroit" album is one of the best of its kind... rockin' R&B. Steve "Decator Gator" Hunter was the original guitarist; however, this live version featuring Jim McCarty of Buddy Miles Express and Cactus fame certainly bears scrutiny. Mitch vocals on the original recording are reminiscent of his "The Wheels" days. Lou Reed himself preferred this version of his song over his own. Great dance tune and harmonies add an extra dimension. Long Neck Goose is another great cut.

@drummer17562 You may already know it but since you didn’t mention it, Jim McCarty was also one of the original Detroit Wheels. Such a great player!

The first time that I saw the Motor City Rockets, Johnny Bee was also the singer, they were 4 piece and annihilated "Lightning" and "The Son Of Cactus" at the Jackson Armory in early 74 . It was a killer concert from beginning to the end.
I'm probably wrong, but it seems like Jimmy was strokin a Les Paul Jr and a Fender Bassman head and 212 cab.
Ok my head was somewhere in the ceiling, I just know the house was rockin!!
The Industry missed it on Jimmy. He's definitely a Guitar God and has been around since 1965 with "Jenny Take a Ride".

First time I saw Jim Mcarty was in the early 70's at the Eastown theater in Detroit when he was with the original "Cactus". Talk about 'Talent Supreme". Jim Mcarty, Tim Bogert, Carmen Appice, Rusty Day. Opening for J. Geils was a huge mistake. The crowd was still screaming for Cactus even when Geils started playing. What a performance they put out.
