    Guess the sound man was sleeping. Or he's a guitar player and doesn't care too much about vocals. He ruined the show.

    I think Bill, aka Mitch Ryder, must have rights to the name. The original members were
    Jim McCarty - Lead guitar
    Joseph Kubert - Rhythm guitar
    Earl E. Elliott - Bass (replaced by Jim McCallister in 1966)
    John Deleon- Drums
    Jim McCallister - Bass (replaced Earl Elliot in 1966, pictured on album displayed on this page)
    Johnny "Bee" Badanjek - Drums

      +Virginia Bezeau I loved all the guitar parts on MR +DW...Jim McCarty(?) but did the producer speed them up? No mo Jane, for example, has wonderfully fast guitar work....but did he really play at that speed? Any idea?

    • @virginiabezeau9843
      @virginiabezeau9843 8 лет назад

      +MrMartininuk ...not sure what you mean by No mo Jane. The songs MR & DW are at original speed.

    so I could have got in my car and driven to see this right here in North America? Damn - shocked at how good this was - the man is a supreme blue-eyed blues stylist on par with Doug Sahm or Delbert McClinton or that underrated singer Paul Butterfield (and of course Mitch sold more records) - but why hasn't Don Was or Jack WHITE from Detroit or Rick Rubin made a record on this cat?

    This band is cracklin'! Mitch sounds better and better as he gets warmed up. Great to see him still at it, we're all richer for it.

    damn; his transitions to other songs .. the man is great. loved him when I was young, of course; didn't know at that time of how things were, where it was at with his record company pushing him one way, he wanted to go another.. harder than hell the whole music biz thing. props to anyone surviving it.. thanks so much for this!

    • @jasonmcclelland4506

      Mitch made poor choices, was influenced by, trusted wrong people. If you think props should go to him for "surviving" biz, - you should also give props to former Band Members, & those who have survived HIM, including out-surviving Himself! As for transitioning/medley, after 5+ Decades of mostly 1 nighter's he can do entire repertoire in his sleep!

      They used to tour summers at a lot of festivals, biker rallies, ect. They were friendly and rivals. They used to bargain with each other about who would open. Going on first was the preferred spot.

    #1 - Band is NOT The Detroit Wheels! #2 - "Devil With A Blue Dress" was written by Fredrick Earl ("Shorty") Long. #3 - "Good Golly, Miss Molly was written by Richard Wayne Penniman, (aka "Little Richard"), AND Bobby "Bumps" Blackwell & Johnny Marascalco. #4 No clue who this generic back-up band for hire is, tmlfan1977 apparently doesn't either, as doesn't credit any of them by name. Far as I can tell, just unknown "average" local musicians, playing probably biggest gig ever had, or will have on resume'. If any were of any caliber, WOULD'VE been been noted. Offended for all genuine "Wheels" members! One of most lazy, insincere performances ever seen him do. THE MOST SENSATIONAL, DYNAMIC Performer have EVER seen, but NOT this band! NOT THIS SHOW!

      William Levise/ Mitch Ryder was not the Detroit Wheels. It was always 'and' or 'with' the Detroit Wheels. So Bill was never a Detroit Wheel.
