Literally the reason I got a SNES. I was a diehard SEGA Head, but I’ll never forget getting MK2 for my Genny, getting soaked in a torrential rainstorm on the way home from the store, and being so disappointed when I got home, selected my fighter and just got a twang sound instead of Shao Khan’s voice.
It still played great, but the voices were so integral to the experience. So I got a SNES just for MK2 and, as it turned out, plenty of other great games. Which is why I still, to this day, buy all consoles.

No wonder they have survived for generations and are so iconic. Watching Sub and that ice-blue ninja outfit / mask, it's so simple but so amazingly cool (no pun intended) and equally with Scorpion. I of course thought there'd be no blood either. So I was like what kind of fatalities would it have on SNES. And I couldn't think of any. Of course the first time I saw kids playing it and it had blood. I was like wow awesome. Another kid watching had asked the kid playing. What is the blood code. The kid said there is no blood code. I think the reason they don't have the actors' names on the kredit screen is because by October 1994, Daniel Pessina and Midway had parted ways due to creative/royalty/ownership conflicts, and on the home versions, just decided to omit actor names for simplicity's sake. When the arcade games was released in 1993, this was still not an issue. By MK3 this was solved.

If you hang out in the corner a little left of Kano when Kintaro stomps on your character you just stand up and start punching. Because Kintaro will jump into the corner after the stomp you can just trap him and punch him to death.

I don't remember having to rely on the kick strategy on SNES I think I relied on another one that once Kintaro is at the corner you just spam punches over and over to chip out his HP (must have the proper distance or else you get a different punch that make things easier for Kintaro).
Edit: While you had to retry Shao Kahn's fight, it was easier overall, Kintaro took you like 20-ish minutes to complete, good run overall as aside of the Shokan (and a little bit with Kahn), you got a great time.

He will be stun locked and you’ll beat him, EASY. With shao Kahn, use liu kang, get distance between you two and spam low fireball. Clickbait tu mayor problema es que no entrenaste. Kitana's hack is cheating xd. Yo de chico sólo lograba vencer al mal@ldito de Kintaro con el truco de "Freeze At Corner" aún así era difícil😂 XD that b@stard hates sweeps attempts & cancelled punches XD . . .

32x is a close number 2, but doesn't beat the SNES. 32x still has some of the crappy Genesis sound effects and colors.

  • @gaba665

I feel 32x is the best version. Or the MS-DOS version to be the best arcade conversion. This version has worst sprites and portraits and awful sounds and music.

My theory as to why they don't list the actors' names in any port of this game was because many of the actors left Midway between MKII & MK3 (Ho Sung Pak, Daniel Pesina, Katalin Zamiar, Phillip Ahn M.D.) and some of them filed an ultimately unsuccessful lawsuit over unpaid royalties.

I personally prefer the SNES version to the Arcade. It's easier to defeat the computer and it recreated the Arcade version very well in terms of graphics and gameplay.
