  • Chair 3 was added in 1967, a year after Mission Ridge was founded. It opened up an expansion of steeper intermediate terrain next to Chair 2, along with a few steeper drops like Tyee, and Johnson's. It sits below Windy Ridge, where a gate at the top of Maggie accesses a 2/3 mile long hike, going up this ridge, and ending at Microwave. From here, people can access terrain above Chair 3, as well as many more bowls, faces, and chutes along the ridge leading all the way back to the base of the resort. Chair 3 has bad parts replaced, but still remains original.
Chair 3 is a Riblet center pole double. It uses a vault drive at the base, and counterweight tensioning, with a tension carriage up top. Most of the hanger arms on the chairs have been modified with a newer Riblet model, but some are still the original design. The profile on this lift is fairly wild, as with all lifts at Mission Ridge, with a very long span in the middle. It runs very fast, completing the ride in just 7 minutes, and is a great lift for lapping.
