My grandma lived to be 95, and my dad is currently 91. Everyone should have the privilege of spending time with older people; they have a lot of stories to tell.

Oh the stories she could tell! 9 decades in and she has seen more change in her life than any of us probably ever will. The hardships her generation endured were soul breaking and life changing ... the Depression, the wars, technology, and so much more. Your Grandma sounds like a wonderful lady and I'm glad you still have her in your life. When she said thank you she meant it. I'm sure it means so much to her to hear from you

My father is nearly 91, and only a few weeks ago sold his current caravan and pick-up truck that he towed it with. He still regularly went camping in it around the Australian countryside up until that time. For his age, he's remarkably fit and healthy, and you'd think he was 60, at most, just looking at him. Like you guys, he was a fan of buying vans to convert into campers, and did about four or five over the years, as well as converting a few cars into motorsport cars. He also owned a few other caravans and custom-built campers over the years. After all that time, he's finally taking it easy, although, in reality, he probably doesn't need to.

My advice to everyone is stop saying to yourself "I'm getting old" when you reach 30 because when you get 40 you'll notice that you've wasted 10 years of enjoying being younger. The same goes with 40, 50, etc. Your real age is how you feel and what you do every day. I'm almost 50 now.

I say this to my friends everyday I’m 32 my friends are the same age and tell them stop saying where old, because 10 years from now you gonna look back and say man I was young when I was 32 what was I thinking then.. joy live life don’t feel that way.

My sister and I think wrinkles are badges of living life. They mean we have been afforded years of experiences that only some are privileged enough to have. Also- every decade (so far) has been better than the last!! ❤😊

As someone who is approaching 60, you feel the same as you do at 30. You just do not recover as fast from injuries as when you are 30 -- I am sure it is the same at 80 plus. Essentially do not worry about getting old, just be smart about how you excert urself to avoid injury and you will be just fine. I would just reccomend just living life to tothe fullest -- right up to the edge.

I hope you realize how much those calls mean to her…and cherish them! (I wish I could still phone and talk to my Grammy….)
Also, wrinkles shminkles! They give you character, show that you felt emotions and lives a life…embrace them too (cause you’re only gonna get more, lol) This Hollywood stereotype about not aging is exactly that, a Hollywood thing…they can keep it, they can look plastic and spend millions to look distorted lol

This is great. I love your grandma!! I wish you could have this conversation with your other grandma, but unfortunately she has the opposite of what one wants when they get old. Your mom, your auntie Kathy and I so wish our kids could call her and have these conversations. I hope that my son and his children, should he have any, will have a clear headed mom/grandma to talk to should I be lucky enough to live until I'm ancient.
As for turning thirty. It's funny how Thirty hits home more than 40. When I turned thirty it hit me. I had just gotten married and had a baby. Life was changed forever. But I didn't feel old. Robert was a bit freaked out when he turned 30. I'm 61 now and age is kicking in fast and furious. Just keep living healthy Kelsey, good skin care, lots of sunscreen (truly the best anti aging product you can ever use) and eat healthy. You are young with a long road of happy and healthy. Much love my beautiful niece ❤️. Thank you for this video.

I'm 66. Told Mom I think she lied to me on my birth certificate and she said why would you think that? I said because I don't feel 66. She said honey, you have a good memory, I know you remember all those years. All the fun times you've had exploring the world on your own. She's right. I have lived life, having fun, doing things that some people can only dream of. I wish I made more money to do more. I wouldn't change what I've done, because those decisions lead me to meeting the Love of my life, even though he died before our wedding from surgery complications. I've been blessed. Don't take time for granted. Never take a moment with a person you Love for granted, as there's no promises of 5 minutes from now. We called it "Love with a Capital L". Home is where the heart is. ❤

  • @TakeTheRide
    @TakeTheRide 7 месяцев назад +1

Stop worrying about your wrinkles. Instead, write down all the questions you'd like to ask your grandmother, like... If you had it to do all over again, what would you do differently. Ask her about gardening. Ask her how they survived back in the times when things were tough. Ask her what they used to drink daily when she was a kid in what was her favorite foods as a child.... What did they get that was special when times were hard. Ask her about her marriage. Ask her about the state of the world. Think of things to ask her about because when she's gone, you're going to think of a whole lot of things you wish you would have asked her. Wrinkles are going to happen. Your hair is going to get thinner after you go through menopause; it's going to turn gray. So are your eyebrows. Lol. Your body is going to change in ways you can't imagine. Yes, you're going to understand that women actually want to stick their head in the freezer during a hot flash. (I thought those people were crazy until it happened to me. 😂). And I'm also here to tell you, it's okay to not want to have children, if that's what you choose. It's nice to be able to go where you want when you want, eat when you want and go to bed when want. You don't have to be like the Joneses next door. Your grandmother wishes she could still drive. Never stop driving...

I will be 59 in June and am currently recovering from back surgery where rods and screws and a cage are in my lower back to fuse together.
I am the most happy I been because of seeing my kids do well and my wife and I are more in love with each other than when we took our vows 32 years ago.
I am so envious that you two had the stones to get out and be immersed in God’s creation. Be thankful you didn’t settle for a 9-5 job where the company allows a few moments of freedom each year in vacation or PTO time off.
You think you have all kinds of time in your 30’s, but you blink, and then you are in your 40’s. Your 50’s move into turbo speed.
I want to hike the Appalachian Trail in a year. I hope I didn’t wait too long as the body eventually breaks down.

Your looks change in your 50’s for men too due to hormonal drops
You lose a pound of muscle every year after the age of 35
Your muscle burns calories, protects your bones
    and gives you energy
That’s why when you go through the hormone drop you get saggy and tired
Plus your bladder doesn’t hold pee well and you can hurt yourself doing basic things like walking
I felt young into my late 40’s, I cannot believe I’m this old, 60
Thankfully I teach yoga daily and am an ethical vegan
I eat mainly fruits and vegetables
What I’ve learned: if I don’t respect, love and pamper myself, ain’t no one gonna do it.
