SUPER IMPORTANT NOTE I forgot to mention in the plunger prep steps that there's a ridge near the back/bottom of the plunger you have to shave down for it to fit in the shell. Pretty easy to dispatch with a hobby knife. This small detail got lost in the various reshoots and such during the year long production of the video, many apologies. Thanks to Shaz for bringing it to my attention.
My first ever blaster were 2 yellow recons and a centurion. They still sit unmodded until one day a magical being will descend upon them and give them new life. hihihi I like your hair, really nice colour.
It's nice to see someone make another guide on these. My go to guide a while back finally got deleted from youtube. The timing couldn't be more perfect.
I like how in the intro you dropped your voice lol, this guide was also helpful. I have a full sonic recon and now it shoots good and I can now use it at modern nerf fields.
i absoluty love how you demonstrate the result in the end! you can even hear the power gains with every shot you made. i m a big fan of your stuff! thanks for doing this video (exactly what i needed to make my old yellow recon worth useing again.)
@@JoltKing627 Just saw this! Awesome video. You actually remixed my approach to be better, or at least less time consuming. In my approach, you cut the original PT and THEN cut part of the original breech off. Sand the inside of the breech until the new PR is able to pass through it. This design actually led to my current 3d printed + original PT approach.
I did this with only screw drivers, pliers, and a saw on a cheap Swiss army knife also I should have gone to bed 2 hours ago but I did it and it works who cares that I have work tomorrow or should I say today 🙃
Amazing tutorial. Very clearly explains the process, with lots of small things mentioned too that could be glanced over by a beginning modder. Thanks to a certain friend of mine, I may have obtained an interest in the jank art of Retalicons, and I want to know: do you need a spring rest if you're going for a powerstock?
Thanks! By power stock, do you mean the worker stock that uses those really long prophecy springs? If you do, I'm not sure, but I don't think so? Haven't messed with one of those stocks.
its better to leave the ring on the PT and slot the shell in front of the catch ribs , keeps the PT from sliding forwards when using bigger springs ,BUT great mod /how to video
I have tried this! I personally prefered the least shell cutting possible, especially for the clear ones, but I understand the structural improvements that could make 👍
Good video, very good video actually! I'll be definitely be following this in the future! Do cover expanded plunger tubes someday because I have wanted to use one of them for ages now, but don't know how that could work. My only question is, is it possible to make the Recon's barrel lug and dart tooth assembly work with the Retaliator internals? I have 2 Recon's I am wanting to mod like this and only one Retaliator, which I plan on fixing later, and I would really REALLY like to avoid gutting my only Retaliator for it.
Yes, you can use the recon dart tooth! The reason I replace it is because the updated retaliator dart gate has a secondary dart tooth that helps it chamber more reliably, but it is by no means mandatory L
@@JoltKing627 Oh, well this is good to know! Hopefully the reliability isn't too bad. Something I didn't even think about until after I posted this is they do have replacement barrel lugs for it in the Retaliator short dart kit, but thanks for the info! Speaking of which, when you cover the expanded plunger tube later on, can you also cover the Retaliator short dart kit too? Naturally, I think a lot of people are going to want to go that route. (myself included)
@@df6695 hopefully I actually get around to it LOL As for other reverse plunger blasters: I don't think I'll be doing full guides, but I will probably show internals pics in overview videos like what I did for the Speedload-6 direct plunger conversion.
Great video! I found it very easy to follow! Couple of questions, would the Delta Trooper’s internals work? Also, would you need to reinforce the shell if it wasn’t an upgraded spring? Love the spring spacer idea! 100 fps is really nice! Might also use this video as well to try and fix my Zesty, thanks!
Thanks! Alright, to answer your questions: Delta trooper internals will NOT work as the internals are a lot different. Mostly due to the slamfire mechanism, which changes the shape of certain parts like the catch. You shouldn't need to reinforce the shell if you're using the stock spring, as long as you don't remove the Air Restrictor. Unfortunately this video won't help with the Zesty, as that one is much different internally. More similar to the delta trooper or Echo. If you want help fixing your zesty tho, I have fixed one for a friend, shoot me an email and I could probably walk you through it.

A classic in sore need of a well-written out guide, you're doing great things for current and future modders.
Thanks 😊

I love how easy it was to make Slime, my retalicon, I recommend so many people make the change to direct plunger!

Glad to hear the guide helped! Nice on the sonic recon, that green plastic is beautiful 😍
Ouuu its nice seeing the whole video. Even nicer was the little sneak peak I got whenever I was modding my own clear Retaliator ;)
Thanks 😊

Thank you! Glad you liked it!
damn, why doesn't this have more views?
this is great 👍
Thanks!
Probably because It's only a week old or so LOL
sup bud, great to see you make a guide my dude

This one's been in the works for a long time. I'm just happy to have finished it 🥵
this days is hard to buy a orange mod works kit, so this the way to back to life this beautiful clear versions
Thank you so much for still putting out mod content! I joined this hobby in 2013 for mods, and mods aren’t the cool think anymore.

@@JoltKing627 Exactly what I mean with that. Guess I'll have to try for myself if I ever get to making a Retalicon, it's not irreversible.

No need to cover that. It's drop in replacements, regardless of which shell you use.

Can you do a guide on how to do this with the Deploy?
Too complex. Much too difficult to make a guide for lol
How much of a springload do you recomend for a clear recon with stock retaliator internals?
I recommend the stock retaliator spring but you could probably go up to 5kg

@@papilcost correct
@@JoltKing627 now...what about a 7kg?
A bit much for stock barrel
My retaliater has a broken screw making it not possible to disassemble mine.
rubber band down the screw post hole then screw driver down hole ,the rubber band helps the driver lock into the worn or broken screw head
