That's really the best thing about the Retaliator, all the parts that are out for it, and the mods that can be done. Stock, it's just so so, but get to tinkering, and you can make it be something worthy.
cool a new mod video. I just recently ordered a 17/32 drill bit on Amazon with a 3/8 shank for my Dewalt Drill that I gotten for Christmas. I also spent 7 bucks for the Worker Magazine release, needed one of course.
Just got a Worker metal trigger for my Retaliator and it's awesome. The back piece that strikes the catch is longer so that "Retaliator" trigger play is gone. I normally have to mod the stock Retaliator trigger.
The metal pin that connects the bolt sled and the dart “tube” fit until about 5 millimeters in. I have tried everything even banging it with a hammer and it won’t go in at ALL. I have been working on this for hours everything fits except THAN PIN. I need help plz
Nice vid dude! Almost finished my retaliator...currently running full worker internals, with the short dart kit and pump kit on the 12kg Spring. Just waiting on my xpt arriving for that lil extra kick. Would love to see a comparison between the different short dart kits if you ever get a chance! Keep up the good work!
I've got a Sonic Ice Retaliator I built with full Worker internals, including alloy sled and bolt action grips. I've yet to install my xpt as well, but it's staring at me from my workbench, lol.
@@ilikxl1708 While you should be able to do it, you'll need higher grade parts in order to have the blaster last long term. It comes down really to how much do you need power wise? The higher the spring load, the shorter the blaster's lifespan will be unless you're ready to pay to upgrade to better and better parts. I'd be recommending an alloy bolt sled really for over 9kg long term. Along with the metal catch, and then the plunger rod itself is going to eventually fail and need replaced. That's the trade off.
Ah ok ty.My situation is a little bit bad cuz it is hard to find a shop where i can buy the right parts and not paying like 20 dollar shippig to germany /:
Got a link in the description for it, but here you go again: www.nfstrike.com/Product/Detail?productId=2444880&productname=Worker-Luxury-Kit-for-Nerf-Retaliator-Internal-Wearing-Parts-Replacement
This video reminds me I need to buy more precision screw drivers. Some how some of mines turned up "missing". However, on topic. I love the retaliator because it's a truly standard blaster and great replay value due all of its attachment points. No wonder it is a popular option to mod.
Once it fully snaps, the blaster ceases to function. A cracked sled is basically going to fully break soon. Could damage other parts as well if you use a cracked sled and it snaps under pressure.

Yes, I'd love to see a few specific things... -A metal bolt assembly for Snipes -Metal priming bar for the Thermal Hunter/Interceptor for reliability with high spring loads beyond 8/9kg -Slick pump kit for the Tactical Storm -Good aftermarket stocks
Stock breeches with the dart posts intact add drag to the dart as it fires, reducing velocity and ranges. Either gutting the stock breech or replacing it with a aftermarket or custom made one is a huge boost for a spring powered blaster.
Definitely have something wrong there, I'd bet you might have forgotten to lube everything up, or the seal got damaged. The difference between the stock blaster and the built one with the Lux kit is night and day. The Luxury kit makes the Retaliator war worthy instantly.
@@MongooseJakeNerf - Hi there thanks The reason i ask is because i have had nothing but problems with the BLUE O-Rings that come with the STD Plunger Rod/tube ( They never work properly ) Instead i remove the original O-Ring from the stock Retaliator and it works perfect.
Planning on modding my retaliator but all the links to these kits seem to go to nfstrike, and none of the products seem to be available anymore. Any advice on where to find that luxury kit these days?
With all of the restructuring of Worker's stock and many websites not carrying certain parts, it's nearly impossible to find that actual kit anymore. MonkeeMods sells most of the parts individually, but if you're looking for a drop in kit the Orange Mod Works Core kit is really nice. I reviewed it and still run it here and there in a Recon MkII and it's worthwhile if you catch it on sale.
Some parts may, some may not. Haven't actually ran one of the newer LongStrikes, but have heard that it can take some of the available Retaliator parts. Can't verify that for certain though...
use a lower fov camera there's too much frame distortion and for the amount of space actually used on the frame isn't even near the widest side so you'd rather use a regular phone camera. youtube compresses your videos anyway so it wont really matter. it seems you dont use 60fps footage so theres no point in using a gopro other than the wide angle but as said previously you aren't using all that extra space
Not dodging the question at all, but that's nearly impossible to answer. Some Nerf boltsleds even break under stock spring loads, while others hold up to 7 or 8 kg springs for over a year. Nerf seems to have major variation in the Retaliator & Recon MkII boltsleds. My actual answer would be to run it as is, but go ahead and order up a spare Worker sled (a bit better and only costs a few dollars) to have on hand as a better back up.
I’ve been looking into modding my retaliator, this video was exactly what I needed. Thanks!
Awesome to hear. Make that Retaliator sing!

Is there any more powerful spring that will fit in the retailiator and the metal catch will hold
Yes, you can fit more powerful springs easily. A 9 or 10kg spring would be a nice bump in power without too much worry.
@@MongooseJakeNerf Oh yeah i just found out about the worker 12kg spring. Do you think it will be to hard to reload with the stock reload grip

do they still make this kit? the link goes to some guy wearing samurai armor. thanks
Do I need plunger replacement if I install a 5kg spring? Or a catch spring replacement in enough?
hello i got a question here, is there any reason why you remove the dart post?
