Remember when pick ups were for working and not for egos?
I see a lot of trucks being used for hard work in Texas every single day. But come on, why do only cars and stuff like that get to be nice, why can’t trucks be nice too? you know ?
Every truck in Texas is like this and they work harder then you ever will
Just because the truck is nice, doesn’t mean it’s not used for work…
Texas has the laziest people in the US. Maybe out west in the oil fields, you may see hard workers but everywhere is lazy. Only the Mexicans work hard.
U know what they say… big trucks compensate for small dicks… never needed a truck myself
My old man told me if I wanted something to drive, get a job. So I worked for a year and got my first truck and driver license at 17. Great lesson to learn.

Im 14 and im gonna be 15 tomorrow, i didn't have to go buy my first truck but i have a 1999 3.0 v6 5 speed ranger and it has been passed down to be from my uncle to my dad and my dad to me. Even though it was given to me it didn't run right and would overheat in 30 seconds, i had to rebuild the entire front half of the engine from the engine block forward by myself. So even though i didn't have to buy it my dad still taught me that if i wanted it i was gonna have to bust my ass for it. My first car was a 1980 Datsun B210 my grandpa bought a month before i was born, in 1980. I was the 5th person to get it handed down to after everyone did a number on it. I spent 2 summers while in my junior and senior year high school, breaking it down, and rebuilding it back up in time for my 18th birthday, and the satisfaction of driving what i spent 2 and 1/2 yrs building, spend just about all the money i made and saved up on, is still the best experience and memories i can recall vividly. Still take it over buying fresh of the lot.
Mine was a Datsun 720
That's awesome. The sentimental value that car must have for you has to be priceless
@@iTzDaNiiLo absolutely. Sadly the car was broken into and trashed, and involved in an crime scene, so was forced to let go. Had the hardest time doing so. Tried to find every loop in the book to get it released, and no go. It was crushed at the end of the investigation. Last i seen was all those years turned into a block of metal. My first car was 20 yrs old, waxed, cleaned and made tires shine × 3 per week. I loved and appreciated it because I bought it. Today kids don't have that appreciation because their parents buy them everything.
My first car STILL IS a 1999 jetta... with 200k miles... which costes 600$, i didn't buy it, how ever i was thinking in getting one with my money i would get from the national guard which my mom stopped me from joining, she would also go on with i should study and not work. All of this backfired horribly. I'm am now changing careers and my car might get crushed because it failed inspection and my father does not want to go around paying a mechanic and a tow truck to get the inspection. The only reason I've gone this far is with the money my family have been giving me which i hate my self for receiving because they are also broke. I'm furious but there isn't much to do now, i will have to get the car fixed my self before tomorrow and see if i can pass the emission. From now on I'll try to stay at my grandfather house and get moving forward, possibly get a job until i graduate as a Mechanic and get in the NG.

When our daughter needed a vehicle for getting to college and work, we didn’t give her one. She picked out which one she wanted by looking up cost, safety record, fuel efficiency, reliability, etc. We put down half on it with her being responsible for paying the other half. This helped not only to teach her responsibility, but it helped build her credit and she took care of it like it was her baby. She now has paid it off and owns it free and clear and has graduated from college debt free.
I just let my daughter use a Buick Skylark. It worked just fine. Absolutely no way I would buy my kid a truck like that even if I was a multi millionaire
LOL the stories you people tell online. No one walks out of college debt free working a part time job and schooling, unless you paid it. Stop being fake dude, it's cringe. It's even more cringe talking while knowing some people in these threads went to and are or have paid off their loans. I went to Virginia Tech and it took me 10 years working as an engineer to pay off the debt.
Exactly how it should be done! I don't enjoy telling my kids "no" sometimes but I think it is good for them. I bought my first car riding my bicycle to the mall not because my parents wouldn't drive me but because I wanted to do it on my own. I paid them back ahead of schedule. I wish more kids had an appreciation for how the real world works.

Working hard for something is what gives you true appreciation for it. When you are just given things they have no true value. My father did not give me a car but he did loan me the 3K for a decent used vehicle with the understanding I would pay $100 a month until it was paid back. He didn’t charge me interest and by my 12 grade year I had it paid back. I was very appreciative to have a car but even more appreciative to have a dad who taught me work ethic and values that helped make me into a self reliant adult.
People DO appreciate what they have, even if they didn't work for it.
Your father should never have had kids. What other more important purpose could there possibly be apart from wanting the absolute best life for your kids?
Well there are a few like bringing them up to be honest, humble, kind, self reliant, respectful of others, and many other things.
Later in life were a few times my dad helped me financially. By this point in my life he knew I had good work ethic and would have made it without the help but the help made it easier. Starting out handing young adult things does not make them stronger.
All my kids know if they are working hard whether that be at a career or on their education I am more than willing to help but handout’s are not going to happen.
Ever seen the signs that say don’t feed wildlife?
That’s because if they become dependent on handouts their ability to feed themselves is diminished.
@neilbonds seems like you have good intent. I think there are better ways to make your kids stronger. I always assumed that train of logic was pretty selfish. I think it gives people the incentive to be less family oriented.
If my dad did that then I would cherish it even more. I always protect what others have gave me more than I Woukd if it were my own

BS statistics show only about 35% of Americans have $1000 or more in savings. That’s leaves 65% of Americans living pay check to pay check I don’t know many ppl giving to their kids like this. Anyone who is able to is def in the small 10% bracket of earners making $200k a year and more. Only difference these days is that I am young and I can’t afford insurance. Hell I can barely afford to fill up my damn gas tank. I don’t know how this young generation is supposed to live with these bs prices

That's a good example on how not to raise your kid. That will just spoil them. They need to learn how to work for what they want and not have stuff given to them like that
Bro you're 15 😭
Comments like this are stupid. I think parents will treat their kids how they should be treated. If the kids are nice and hard working (like this boy looks) then I’m sure parents would want to be generous and give them gifts like this. Rather a parent who has a kid that is a trouble maker and takes 0 responsibility, then they would say "get your own car" "make your own money" "wash your own clothes" "buy your own food". Ya know, everybody’s different. So don’t be telling people how to raise their kid. Because from this video, this guys doin a fine job
@@JackFrost05 nah I have friend who's an awesome kid (adult now) and his parents have made him work since he was 14. He bought his own car, made to move out at 18, pays for everything he has. And he payed rent to live in his parents house, ($500, the $1000 when he turned 18). Sometimes parents just have a philosophy and that's just how they're gonna raise their kid, regardless of how they act. He never got in trouble, had good grades, did his chores, etc.

My dad & a Mom told me & my sister that we had to buy our own car, they would not, BUT they would buy a car for us but we would have to pay them back (monthly payments!!!). He bought my 1st car a 1976 Monte Carlo SS from the bank it cost $500. It was a sage color. He put brand new tires on it, a new paint job, the new color was metallic blue. He fixed everything that might have been wrong with the motor and everything else so I could be safe. He sold it to me for $850. I had to pay for the insurance on it. I loved it 🤩 ❤️🤗. I was 17 yrs old @ the time.

This Dad definitely did a much better job then my Grandsons Dad who totaled his first truck that he had worked hard to pay for on his own & never offered to replace it or pay for damages either. Even ran off & allowed him to accept the charges and costs him the job he loved @ the time to; since he could no longer get there. So; maybe its spoiling him a little; because he can; but it could definitely be the alternative; so; hopefully he’s grateful. My Grandsons Momma did a good job with him though; despite the absence of a good Dad; & hes turned out to be an Amazing Dad himself. By buying him a brand new truck? How's that teaching him not to be entitled

The greatest lesson a parent can teach is life does not always give you what you want - deal with it.
This kid feels ENTITLED to have a truck he didn't work for.

Doesn’t sound very entitled to me, sounds like him and his dad are some jokers, he probably loves and appreciates the 22 just as much as he would have on the 23, plus it seems like they do their own work he could swap the front end to the 23 if he really wanted it that bad and I’m sure the dude knows that if they’re truck guys.

If his dad really loved him he would have made his son work and buy his own truck. My husband at the age of 16 bought his self a truck a Datsun car and a 69 Chevy Nova body that he traded his mustang that worked for the body. He then went to work on the car with his uncle's help built the motor and everything. He did all this while putting in tobacco working part of time at a service station at pumping gas while going to to see school as he a no Senior getting out early on Fridays while we taking Karate. It made me appreciate his hard work that he worked so hard for and I made sure to put my 100% into it to make sure the business he worked so hard to start would keep on going for generations to come
Yeah but your dad gave you a company that’s worth more. It’s like you said passing down a generation. I’d hate to me like fifteen and get a 80,000 dollar truck for free and just thing if I break it I get a new one you know 😂. That’s dope you got a company though

So quick to assume. Most of you are judging this man for giving his son a gift, albeit a very expensive gift, without knowing anything about them. If I could give my son a brand new truck, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Because I know he's a hard worker, takes care of his responsibilities, and loves his family.
