I was there as well. Yankee fan was sitting two rows back running his mouth that they were up 3-0. After the 3rd in a row he was bowing to the fans. After the fourth one I turned around, and he was gone. EPIC. I was sitting grandstands behind Red Sox dugout.
From one Red Sox fan to another, he probably still is in therapy, pally. I gave you a GREAT,. BIG, HUMONGOUS "thumb's up" for your comment, by the way!!!
Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN. Jon Miller & Joe Morgan. no team has equaled them since. id tune in to see 2 scrub teams with those guys in the booth. there are better individuals. but no better team.
God DAMN, were these the good ol' days for Sox fans! We never knew how good we had from '04-'08...amazing teams back then. '13 was fantastic too, but the Tito/Ortiz/Ramirez/Martinez era was beyond special.
Was driving home from dinner. Caught the first 2 driving. 3rd one after pulling into driveway. Ran in the house, turned on the TV and caught Varitek's!!
According to Baseball Reference, Chase Wright won his major league debut as a starter. Lost this game, giving up 5 hits and 4 ER in 3 innings. He was sent to the minors. Returned to get the win in the last game of the year as a reliever. And then was never seen again in MLB. No coming back from 4 Home Runs in a row. Amazing, yet brutal.
A year earlier JD Drew hit the 2nd of 4 consecutive HR by the Dodgers. In other words, if you want to hit back to back to back to back HR's, make sure JD Drew is in the lineup.
Way back on July 31st, 1963, in the 2nd game of a twi-night doubleheader against the Angels, the Indians hit 4 consecutive homeruns off Paul Foytack. As I recall they were hit by Woody Held, Pedro Ramos, Larry Brown, and Tito Francona. After the 4th homer was hit, the Angels manager (I think it was Bill Rigney.) asked Foytack what he thought. Foytack replied "I think I'm in pretty good shape. There's no one on base." When Foytack left the mound he received a standing ovation. The Indians had a pyrotechnic scoreboard. When they homered, trumpets appeared from behind the scoreboard and would be blaring as the batters rounded the bases. When he reached home plate the fireworks were launched. Man, with 4 straight homers there must've been a lot of smoke, and it wasn't because the Cuyahoga River was on fire either.
I watched this game. It was such a great feeling to watch these guy give it to NY. Ultimately the Yanks would tie it before Lowell hits another bomb and the Sox win. Magical game and season for Boston...
I was in 6th grade, and had just been exposed to baseball within the past year, by a new friend from Lowell Massachusetts. One of my earliest memories as a Sox fan was this game. I remember my father was replacing the carpet in the house, and al the furniture in my room was all gone. So I plugged in a small tv in the corner and pulled up a roller chair as close as i could to watch Sunday Night Baseball. I had to be careful of the staples and splinters on the exposed wood, thats was once underneath the carpet, but after Lowell hit the 3rd…i ran into my dads room to show him. By the time he changed the channel, Varitek would hit the 4th seconds later. What a season this was, and it’s a privilege to say this 2007 season was my 1st as a fan of baseball. And how fortunate I was to have my team win for me, in year 1 of my new “life” as a member of Red Sox Nation. And, I sure do miss John Miller and Joe Morgan calling the games too. Great memories.
I wasn't there, I was only watching this on TV, and when Varitek hit the fourth home run I jumped up and shouted out loud. I'm sitting here thinking and I don't think I've jumped up and shouted out loud at anything else on a TV screen in my life.
This was the best red Sox team ever also Jerry Remy was the best announcer he was funny I love and miss the rem dog when the red Sox play it will never be the same in the red Sox booth love ya rem dog you will be greatly missed number one rem dog fan
Can't recall seeing 4 HR in a row. I believe it was 1985, home opener for the Padres and my brother and I watched Marvell Wynne, Tony Gwynn and John Kruk hit three in a row in the bottom of the first. Steve Garvey was next and flew out deep to the warning track.
Chase "The Ace" Wright will always live in my memories... I don't know why this showed up in my recommended today (on my birthday!) but it was a nice present :)
I remember watching this live when I lived on Long Island NY. I was at a Sports bar watching the game with my friends who are Yankee fans. They were talking so much shit to me when they were up 3-0...this game is etched in my memory. Great times. When the Red Sox cared about winning.
My random observations is the numbers of the players never noticed before. Manny was wearing #24 my man Dwight Evans number and the other guy wearing #7 Rick Burleson's old number.
I remember ‘cause I was there! And I missed all four home runs because I was on my phone! I remember saying to myself after the 3rd home run that if they’re going to hit home runs while I’m on my phone I’m going to stay on my phone.
I was taking a shit when this happened and when I left the living room grandma changed the channel to antique road show....scarred for life.....this is a true story fml.
I bet it sucked being the 5th guy up to bat...lol expecting a HR...hits a dribbler to the SS...out at first ...4 HR’s in row! The memories of those 2004, 2007 teams will never be forgotten!
I was eating dinner with my brother when this happened. Right after, we turned to eachother and I told my brother "the Sox are gonna win the series this year."
I saw this on TV as it happened. The next batter who came up after Veritek ... struck out! I was furious! You sure do get greedy when your team is on a roll like this! But at least Hawk Harrelson wasn't the announcer...these ESPN guys show at least a little enthusiasm.
I was AT this game. I thought Fenway was going to come apart. Rumor has it Chase Wright is still in therapy.
I was also at this game. Remember it well sitting in the center field bleachers.
@Austin Jay Let me guess... You are a Yankee fan
I was here too, around 8 years old. Don’t remember much but incessant cheering.
I was there as well. Yankee fan was sitting two rows back running his mouth that they were up 3-0. After the 3rd in a row he was bowing to the fans. After the fourth one I turned around, and he was gone. EPIC. I was sitting grandstands behind Red Sox dugout.

Even better that it's against the Yankees.
@@deesnuts9225 thats not a very nice word
@@augoose12 i think he’s a yankees fan 😂
AND to do it when the Wanks are ahead 3-0 ... you can't beat that!
It's what Red Sox fans dreams are made of. I come back to watch this just for the satisfaction it's brings over and over ...and over Again 😎👑🏆
Lmao
That's a one run at a time grand slam.
13 years later and this still gives me chills. I miss that team. I cant imagine anytime in the future having any players of Manny or Papi's caliber
you mean cheating caliber?
@@stevep8445 yes that is exactly what I mean. You are so smart
Sox fans are in straight denial about their two best players this century both being cheaters lol
@@parks97 just like the Yankees. Clemens, Arod, Giambi, Sheffield , Teixeira, etc.
Announcer Joe Morgan played many years on the all time great Big Red Machine, and he had never seen 4 straight homers before. Absolutely amazing!
Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN. Jon Miller & Joe Morgan. no team has equaled them since.
id tune in to see 2 scrub teams with those guys in the booth. there are better individuals. but no better team.
"That one's heading for New Hampsere!" I miss John md Joe on ESPN..thanks for the upload.ive been searching for this video for a while
No Problem! Ismael Villagrana
Ismael Villagrana current guys suck
Dan Brown Don orsillo and Jerry Remmy??? They are legends... redsox just dont have thew team at all this year it's been depressing

I miss them too

keefriff99 how about this year
I miss the hell out of Tek. I like Vasquez, but Jason is the GOAT.
Martinez?
It was really 03-08. We were just 5 outs from the series in 03.
@@marcelohernandez31 pedro lol cmon bruh
Was driving home from dinner.
Caught the first 2 driving.

I remember watching this live in '07. I was in shock.
Me too I was late to work watching this
Same
Same
Me too. I loved it. The way Ellsbury came up during the play offs and batted over 500 right away in the most clutch times was amazing.
My wife and I were at Game On behind the monster listening to the one Yankee fan gloating before those 4 shots. He got shut up big time.
No matter how many times I see this it NEVER gets old!

hey12358y but Red Sox fans will remember him forever 😂😂😂
The Yanks came back to take the lead. Boston had a three run seventh, and Scott Proctor took the loss.
I remember this game. They Chased him Wright back to the minors.
The good thing about giving up four home runs in a row is that at least the last three will be with nobody on base.
damn manny used to hit bombs
yeah man
His son Manny jr is going for the same path
Brian Belknap
He had the sweetest swing I've ever seen.
true that

Thanks for posting this video. That was AWESOME!!! It brought back the feeling of how great it was to watch that 2007 Red Sox team play.
Now Lowell .. and this game is going to be tied up..That ones headed for New Hampshire..What a shot !!
Goosebumps+ wow.
That massive roar from the crowd on the Varitek homer is absolutely amazing
I remember watching this live at my brother’s house. We were going absolutely nuts.
Thanks for posting this couldn't find it anywhere for some reason GO SOX!
Jon Miller is one of my favorite announcers.
A year earlier JD Drew hit the 2nd of 4 consecutive HR by the Dodgers. In other words, if you want to hit back to back to back to back HR's, make sure JD Drew is in the lineup.
4 homers in a game for one team is already hard to do. Back to Back to Back to BACK is another level of insanity

Terry Francona joked during this game that the fifth guy up in the game you mentioned "went for a bunt"
“…in good shape, there’s no one on base” what an inventive reply!!! 🤣🤣🤣👏 great story
A pyrotechnic scoreboard in 1963? I don’t think so.
I was watching that on live TV :)
I was there! I was so pissed that Wily Mo Pena subsequently struck out thus ending the hit parade.
Ross Cicero as usual with him
I was there too that place was nuts chanting FIVE FIVE FIVE!!
The best was some lady came to sit down right after TeK hit his and goes "what did I miss?"
It's cool that JD Drew did this with the Dodgers as well just the previous year, and both times he was the second batter.
I know right, I always thought that was amazing
And his brother Steven was a part of the same thing in Arizona
His grandmother Nancy was an amateur detective who solved mysteries
I was at that game and man I remember it well.. just a memory you won't forget
I watched this game. It was such a great feeling to watch these guy give it to NY. Ultimately the Yanks would tie it before Lowell hits another bomb and the Sox win. Magical game and season for Boston...
I think its time for a new pitcher
Michael Benedict.... LOL
That’s my old baseball coach 😂
Some of those were absolutely crushed
+Y4123 He definitely wasn't fooling anyone lol
Especially J.D. Drew's to dead center. He belted that thing. Too bad he was mostly disappointing for the Sox.
I really miss Jon Miller and Joe Morgan on Sunday Night Baseball :(
I was in 6th grade, and had just been exposed to baseball within the past year, by a new friend from Lowell Massachusetts.

Watched this in a bar in NYC - great fun! Yank fans were seriously PO'd.
I bet not as PO'd as they were after Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS.
I was at this game, unforgettable
That one is headed to New Hampshire, Great call love it, that 2007 team was the best team ever assembled in Red Sox history
wow...thanks for posting this
I loved John Miller and Joe Morgan. They were Sunday Night Baseball in a nut shell. Perfect.
Morgan was insufferable.
Red Sox, team of the century right there!
Red Sox Worst team of the century because they traded away JACOBY ELLSBURY
DUMBASS WHO AGREES WITH ME HU
Ian Cash we got brock holt the new ellsbury
Ian Cash you're stupid he left as a free agent. And either way it doesn't matter, Yankees suck. Learn your facts before you go fishing for attention
Jacoby ellsbury kind of sucks
Every once in a while you just have to share this link with a Yankee fan friend.
I wasn't there, I was only watching this on TV, and when Varitek hit the fourth home run I jumped up and shouted out loud. I'm sitting here thinking and I don't think I've jumped up and shouted out loud at anything else on a TV screen in my life.

Omfg I miss that manny stroke nobody could swing the bat like manny I remember this game cuz it’s still a mlb record to this day
Wow. JD Drew was apart of 4 home runs in a 2 times. Of course it came up after watching this one. :)
Red sox will never be the same without these players
I remember watching this game on TV. It was awesome.
Jd had one of the best swings in the game. Very underated
Manny, J.D. Drew, Lowell and Varitek smashed the Yankees that night.
my favorite part is how it came in the span of 9 pitches
same pitcher too
Who sees this still today! Wow! Tremendous!
Manny Ramirez, J.D. Drew, Mike Lowell, Jason Varitek...
Miss those days !!!

God, I remember this like it was yesterday. I ran into my dad's room after the 3rd HR and told him to turn the game on.
Mike Lowell had an underrated sweet-ass swing. Also Jon Miller is the best. Him and Gary Thorne are my two favs for baseball broadcasting
J d drew was also part of four consecutive homers in LA as well. The game winner was hit by nomar garciaparra
Aww man miss this team
The ole days. I feel old lol. Jon miller and joe Morgan commentated this game. Jon miller has that beautiful voice. Lol. Kinda like joe buck lol
I remember running laps around my house when this happened. I was so amped up
JD Drew was part of the Dodgers 4 hr in a row as well

Oh love Carl Yastrzemski he was one hell of a baseball player
that was a great team. god bless the red sox
J D DRew was also part of this with the LA Dodgers a few year earlier
Greatest mlb team ever assembled
I love that and I wish red sox could do it again!
Crazy JD Drew did this with the Dodgers as well
So glad Joe Morgan is no longer broadcasting. BRUTAL!
Worst to first to worst to first in 2015
And hopefully not back to worst in 2016. Seriously, trend needs to end.
Mike Hawk im ok with the trend if they win the world series every other year
I was at that game it was INSANE!!!!
I remember watching this live

V-Tek behind the plate and at the plate was always a good thing. What a time, what a Team.
I remember watching this live at my mom's with my boy Dunn rest in peace, we were shitting ourselves laughing hysterically
Manny reminds me of Allen iverson

Actually, the 5th batter was Wily Mo Pena. And he struck out.
1:01 that nose
1:02 lol
Only Joe Morgan could put a downer on this....

This is amazing, makes its just that much better that its against the Yankees

It was Wily Mo Pena.
I remember Dice-k was in the mound for the red Sox
0:34 it should be illegal to have a swing that smooth
I remember this.
the pitcher must have been crying
Ortiz or Manny must have told them something to look for in their ABs
They also hit 5 in a row one year too.
