      Well, that's why the Imposter Syndrome was inventing and quickly gave "mansplaining" a run for its money in the race for most inane. In a nutshell (where it belongs), the imposter syndrome is being unable to accept that you are as brilliant and talented as you REALLY are.

      There has always been people like that, you know? They are making fun of the people who went on shows like Oprah and so on. So, life was already like that, just not to the amount it is now.

      @@dimitrijekrstic7567 it's definitely at least a bit because of the internet. In the early days of blogging there were loads of teenagers oblivious to the fact that everybody that age is insecure and emotional all the time.
      It wasn't until we got actual social media like Facebook and MySpace that people began to realise and it took them years.
      At least now we know it's cliche, or as the kids would say "cringe" and we can make fun of people who say things like this.

      Not Wilde, not in this clip, though you did get the initials O. W. right. Inexplicably the BBC thought it best to mutilate the sketch by cutting out Stephen's opening line in which he introduced himself as Oprah Winfrey.

All you have to do is look at a huge chuck of RUclips videos, which are about people claiming to have low self-esteem yet convinced they are interesting enough top demand attention on the forum. Instagram and Twitter is also full of the same kind of behavior.
      What confuses me more is how something so incredibly obvious as my comment could appear vague to anyone.
