A tip, easiest way to get to the files is to open the launcher and pick the browse user files option.
Saving you guys a bunch of time looking through your folders.
That is a great tip of finding it!
I just did this and it works. I feel dirty and I need a shower but this does work. Just make sure you select your most recent save file.

For the new update all you have to do is basically same steps they just tried to hide it go down to losses. Right under losses is a single line called “value”: Whatever your money is will be displayed here. An just change this an save

Did not work when I had purchases that didn’t line up with the correct payment. Had to change attributelog.json on a fresh save myself.

@@deids_2395 Yes, you just have to select the correct autosave (or modify all of them). Also they are not hiding it, they just changed the save system for practical reasons probably. They don't care what you do with your saves.
You're a God amongst men. The one downfall of career mode besides crashing occasionally and a few small bugs is how little money you make per mission. Thanks for making beamng career mode great again. #stewbacca2024

@@Stewbacca3 my kiddos and i are so thankful, we get to drive around in a nice cabover flatbed and tow our esbr with front and rear performance motors and our 1500hp awd bastion. dads just happy to have a cherrier vivace drift car.

best course of using this is simply just giving the amount you had before the update to help (maybe extra if is lower than the cars you had)

Finally dude the shit was bugging me
Don't usually do this but was playing career with my recently bought truck when by accident I blown up my engine then when I went to repair it it took my money but it still said it needed repairing so I had to sell it at a huge loss so I gave myself enough money to buy a new truck

There are lots of weird things like that in career mode and so I personally rely on adding extra funds to compensate. I think one career mode is launched properly then it’s a different matter. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and it worked for you. I still can’t figure out why some people can’t get it to work.
@Stewbacca3 no idea why people are struggling. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to computers and files, which is why it was great that your video didn't skip anything and showed each step visually. Not like some videos that skip parts
@Mr_Smartlew I’m glad to hear that. Sometimes I doubt myself. Maybe some folks have different setups with how the game is installed? Maybe that’s it?
@Stewbacca3 could be I got it through Steam, but there are other websites that sell it, so the file setup might be different. idk
@Mr_Smartlew I think you are right. I am working with the steam version too. I’d imagine that people could search their computers for the file name to modify as that’s bound to be the same in any version of the game

That’s ok. As long as you have a .31 folder the files will be in there for you
just a quick question, how do you navigate to the current version of the game?
Each update will by default create a 'moved here' folder with the latest version. You may have several 'moved here' folders to go through to get to the 0.31 version. Alternatively, look for the 0.31 folder within your BeamNG drive folder in 'Documents' - I hope this makes sense and helps

your beamng folder might be located somewhere else
On the launcher there should be a button to open files, it’s in there. Easier to find.

@@Stewbacca3 it does, I just had to restart the game. The maximum amount of money you can give yourself before it breaks is $999,999.99.
(EDIT: I think I might be the outlier here as everyone else says it’s broken but it still works for me).

Is there any way to modify the car’s mileage?
Good question - I’m not sure. Perhaps fitting a fresh engine will reset it but I’m not aware of how to modify the mileage.

@@Stewbacca3 I found the odometer value for the car but it's stored as a weird value with both numbers and letters, and messing with it breaks the career progress.

@@Stewbacca3 I was just trying this on update 0.32 and accidentally applied it to an old 0.31 save. The money showed up in the 0.31 save but couldn't play it because of the version difference. But now that I'm trying to do it on newer 0.32 saves the money doesn't update sadly even after following all the steps.
@@Falco_Alopex You are right - I have been looking through the files this evening and it seems they have changed quite a few things to make this hack no longer work. I will keep digging as I'm sure there will be a way around this. Appreciate you letting me know. I'm sorry if you haven't managed to enjoy using the hack!

Whats the point tho? Money in career is already meaningless since you just buy cars with it and dont use them for anything other than driving to objectives... at this point just play free roam lmao.
You can now use your own vehicles to complete career missions. Lots of folks now want to do cargo missions with big rigs and trailers so this gives them the funds to try this before the next game update.
I have only seen that for the trucking system, not for regular missions. The missions constantly replace my car with a loaner. @@Stewbacca3
Cause the sense of progression is what is interesting about career mode. YOU started with a pretty mediocre car, YOU grinded credits to buy u a better car, YOU modified it, got it a better engine, fine tuned it, etc etc. The content for career will keep coming with the updates.
Yea I think you misread my comment entirely. My statement wasnt about career mode not mattering, it was the opposite. Im saying why cheat in career, at that point you may as well do free roam. @@andixx3647
@@andixx3647but trying to figure out which vehicle you like, how to set it up will keep you broke after hours and hours of playing. Ask me how I know. Also some of the default trailers will not get the boxes to haul cargo and are therefore just a loss of money in taxes and dealer fees. At least with this is possible to recoup without another 4 hour session to make the cash to get a trailer that works.
