    On the question of whether Christian conservatives would be happy to have Noam in his neighborhood: I know an Israeli man in a very red, very Christian area in rural Washington. After October 7th, his neighbors were baking him cakes and cookies with stars of David on them to show their sympathy. They really do feel a lot of sympathy for the Jews in this moment, in my experience.

    "All politicians do because this is their career" is the problem and another reason to vote Trump. Being a politician was never SUPPOSED to be a career. In fact, it was desirable, once upon a time, that someone left a career to SERVE as a politician, then return to that career once their term limits were up. This would mean that politicians would have to face the ramifications of their policies, and therefore govern with that in mind. These career politicians have no connection to the private sector and have never dealt with policies from the position of most citizens. Kamala is the embodiment of the career politician with no perspective.

With that said, I am profoundly disappointed at the refusal of all these characters to not take a stand. If these "patriots" were the driving force in the late 1700's, we would still be subjects of English rule. I’m glad they loomed up the dictator on day one…now do “fine people”, Bloodbath, this Liz Cheney one….I swear to god it’s insane when you start realizing all the main things you know about Trump being bad were completely blown up by the media. Now, it doesn’t mean he’s some perfect guy, far from it but you try to tell people and they just don’t believe you because it’s so overwhelming the amount of lies. And everyone has already built their opinion of him partially off of thinking he did all that stuff. Again, watch him talk he does say brash offensive things but so much of the big stuff that they STILL bring up was total crap. The Haidt-elephant analogy is beautiful and very apt. Frankly, that’s why I’m voting Trump. I believe the governmental guard rails contain him.. versus the Left which ARE the guard rails… thus allowing the Left’s extremes to be implemented. I am very worried about racial, sex, and sexual orientation identitarianism; the influence of gender ideology on Title IX, and foreign interventionism given foreign nations taking advantage of US to underfund their own defenses, military-industrial complex incentives, weak US manufacturing capability, federal debt, and decades of disappointing results… all while romanticizing “US leadership in the world”.
    The above being said, I respect those that perceive Trump to be a greater risk than I do… as long as they also admit the Left has very frightening policies too and a better ability (than Trump) to implement them. It’s why I admire Coleman.

      @@jorgemartinez42069 - That’s true only in a very pedantic sense. Remember, she is the individual that says she supports all of Biden’s policies (eg farm bill which prioritized benefits by race, interpretation of Title IX thru gender theory lens). She also supported BLM and has the history of supporting those very far-left identitarian policies (eg tax-payer funded surgeries for illegal aliens). She also supports the elimination of college debt via executive order (clearly an unconstitutional act, even before SCOTUS ruled against action).
      Given her past expressions of belief and past actions in respect to those beliefs, I don’t believe her being quiet about them now is indicative of her future behavior.

    • @BruceWing
      @BruceWing 21 день назад +4

      @@jorgemartinez42069 - As for Trump, I am happy to agree that the man says unnecessarily hyperbolic things on occasion (eg eating pets). That said, his actions clearly show that he is directing his wrath against illegal immigrants and policies which foolishly make large numbers of otherwise illegal immigrants legal (eg thousands of Haitian immigrants residing in a small town in Ohio)… thus causing real problems relating to housing and the taxpayer cost thereof, schools and the ability to teach kids of various languages and the additional taxpayer cost, and hospital services and taxpayer subsidized costs.

    • @jorgemartinez42069
      @jorgemartinez42069 21 день назад +1

      @@BruceWing I agree with you on the Farm Bill thing, but I think the support of BLM is highly exaggerated by right wing media. Yes, she supported the idea of justice for black people being killed by police unjustified, but she did not ever support riots and looters.
      But regardless, even if I take all of what you said as true and grant you those things for the sake of the argument, I don't see a world where those things are somehow *worse* than undermining democracy in the most authoritarian power grab in US history. Ben Shapiro himself on January 7th said it was the worst thing to happen in the US since 9/11. I can't see how you think that's okay to support and that some racialized politics, even if bad, are somehow worse for the country than a literal coup attempt.

    • @BruceWing
      @BruceWing 21 день назад

      @ - I appreciate your civility, but disagree. The degree to which people want to hold Trump accountable for the riots of 1/6… should be equal to or less than the degree people should hold the media and politicians accountable for the BLM riots.
      Trump directed the rioters to be peaceful… even though his rhetoric clearly made people hot. Leftists politicians, media outlets, and celebrities supported the BLM rioters by claiming the BLM rioters’ actions (which caused much more damage and killed many more people) were justified.. based on lies the media and politicians have been feeding the public for decades regarding race. See research from Roland Fryer, etc for details.
      Personally, I don’t want to vote for Trump because his effort to have Pence reject the electors was a terrible act… even though it is also clear that many states violated their own election laws in support of drop box/mail-in ballot initiatives that may have cost Trump the election. Because Democrats engaged in a hyperbolic (that word again, but for Ds now) effort to impeach Trump for insurrection - something Trump clearly did not do - they lost support from Rs that would have impeached Trump on the request to reject electors.
      Had Trump been impeached, DeSantis would be running on the Republican ticket… and Kamala Harris would still lose this election.

Its one thing to want to try and bring an end to the violence/war... but its another thing to do it on Russia's terms instead of Ukraine's or even the West/US. Other than that and a few other key things like him refusing to call out Trump's loss and his semi-coup attempt after losing, I agree that JD Vance sounds reasonably level headed and intelligent, if not a bit "weird" lol.

That being said, the fact that Obama/Biden/Harris don`t understand deterrence, peace through strength, and the absence of American power creates a vacuum filled by actors like Iran. They still don`t understand that Israel is fighting a war with Iran that not only must they win for their own survival but the survival of what I will plainly call Western Civilization. Trump doesn`t understand the same about Ukraine. These two wars are now partisan "issues" are part of a larger war. I have now lived for 25 years in Korea and Japan which is under U.S. security agreements and I don`t have any faith that Trump will maintain those obligations even if he hires someone like Elbridge Colby for NSA who desperately wants to focus more clearly on China than Europe or the Middle East. Both choices are horrifying for me. Both parties have turned into the worst versions of themselves and we need to create new parties to compete against them. Thanks for the discussion.

Haven’t seen her say a thing while campaigning to make anyone think she is pro Palestine or anti Israel or antisemitic. Her choice in Waltz over Shapiro had to do with the fact that Shapiro would have outshined her in every regard and he himself was honestly the best choice for the nominee which would have made her look terrible. When Noam states that Trump did not interfere with the populace, my thoughts went to kids in cages, families deliberately separated, and access to gynecological care.
    [It is exactly because of the crazy abuse of immigrants under Trump that I'm furious with Biden's incompetence around monitoring the nation's borders. So politically naive/reckless.] But I digress.
    On this day after the election, my heart goes out to the young women who will not have access to care. While I get that Noam sees this as respecting state's rights, on a gut level it seems to me that the natural consequence of unwanted children being born into a society with an inadequate social safety net is psychological trauma and misery. And it's scary to think of Stephen Miller -- or a Miller type -- being put in charge of immigrants.
    This must be a terrifying day to be an immigrant.
    Finally, I'm surprised no one discussed the prospects of implementing Project 2025.

      USA TODAY
      The claim: Michelle Obama criticized the Trump administration for putting kids in cages, but the cages were built during the Obama administration
      Kelly asked Johnson about a 2014 photograph of him touring an Arizona facility for migrants along with former Gov. Jan Brewer. The picture is archived on the website for the Arizona Capitol Times.
      Johnson explained the picture was taken during a spike in unaccompanied minors crossing the southern border of the country.
      "The photograph you're referring to was a facility in Arizona - I recognize the photograph because Gov. Brewer was with me - and it was during the spike ... and we had a lot of unaccompanied kids, we had a lot of family units. And under the law, once they're apprehended by the border patrol, within 72 hours, we have to transfer unaccompanied children to (the Department of Health and Human Services). And HHS then puts them in a shelter, and they find placement for them somewhere in the United States." Johnson explained.
      Local NBC affiliate KVEQ reported on the conversion of a McAllen, Texas, warehouse into a holding facility for up to 1,000 migrant children in 2014.
      "You can't just dump 7-year-old kids on the streets of McAllen or El Paso. And so, these facilities were erected ... they put those chain-link partitions up so you could segregate young women from young men, kids from adults, until they were either released or transferred to HHS. Was it ideal? Of course not," Johnson said.
      Michelle Obama's assertion that the Trump administration tore children from their families and threw them into cages alludes to "a frequent and distorted point made widely by Democrats," according to the AP. The facilities designed during the Obama administration to temporarily hold migrants were used for a similar purpose by President Trump, the AP also concluded.
