- One of the big rock tunes of 1979, it was also Sniff 'n' the Tears' only charted hit. It is said the song is actually about a wide range of conflicting emotions being felt by
the central character after an unexpected breakup with his girlfriend. But there is no question he is also experiencing these feelings behind the steering wheel of his car. And out there on the highway is Jenny, his ex-girl, trying to sort out her own emotions. How blue is the news? Driver's Seat puts us behind the wheel to find out. - Видеоклипы
this is the 12" extended play version they use to play in all the Clubs back in the day...
Yes indeed! I got this version off Limewire back in the 2000's. My only other copy is the 45 vinyl single I used to play in the club back in 1979, and it is definitely shorter! It was nonetheless a very popular and often requested tune!
Thanks. I was wondering where this came from.
2024 Still Rockin* !!
The intervals in that chorus "yeah" are sublime singing - fresh as a daisy's
Excellent Mix!!!
Thanks for listening
Cruising around Toronto and the GTA in 1979.
YES! The exact area I had in mind (although a bit outside of Toronto, more like on the way). Great song for a Great Year, 1979.
❤
Love it, brings me back to my San Diego days in the early 80s, along with The Driving Beat.
This is a strange video. I used a lot of still images as well as some motion picture ... but even in the stills you can sense the feeling of motion. I also never intended to make a story out of the video, but that's what I ended up doing.
Great song play it on lg 3500 watt system
Oh yeah !... the sound on this is great in a car stereo too.
Kick Ass Song !! Like It Lot's. Tommy Gunn. ❤
Makes me really miss the 70s
It never gets old!
Have been listening to this song for years best of the best…!
The bartenders always used to tell me to put this one on when I was a DJ ... a lot! It was one of a small number in 1979 that got frequently requested by everybody. I was really happy so many years later to make this into a video.
❤❤❤❤❤lovly song.
great song
It was one of the most popular and frequently requested songs I played when I was a deejay at a local bar between 1978 and 1985, this one from 1979. Of course I had the vinyl single version and I think this is a longer mix version. I got his from Limewire back in the aughts.
Yeaaaah
Extra ordinary playback. Good job all round.
Thanks so much!
👍
Thanks Tony!
@@mikemunrowsretro8973 same taste bro. I miss your Becks bolero and NIN closer!! Really excellent!!
@@tonyezar7547 Yeah, come to think of it, the Beck's Bolero wasn't over-revealing at all. I did a good editing job on that one to keep the naughty bits out of sight, but there was one nip slip I think. Have to review it again, but of course it will be age-restricted. Closer was more about the lyrics than what I did on the video, it is a bit edgy at the end, but a lot of the opening material could have been from a steamy cable TV commercial! Otherwise it was Trent singing live and some stuff that looked like it came out of Eraserhead. Actually, you'd think after HBO aired Deuce prime time for three years, anything would go these days.
