I believe there's another possible temple inference in the First Vision. Not sure how to word ot here but I feel that something that occurs in the endowment narrative can be seen as having also occurred in the First Vision experience.

If you read King Benjamin's address to his people in Mosiah chapter 2 - with your temple eyes - you'll find some fascinating references to what we do in the temple, specifically in the endowment.

If so much “can” be talked about, why is it still such a shocker when one finally goes to the temple!!!????

Because parents and local leaders need to do better teaching the rising generation from a younger age. And if they didn’t, then put them through a thorough temple prep class with someone who knows what they’re talking about and is confident in talking about ALL they can about the ordinances and covenants, which is more than most are ready to accept

I think most people think going to the temple will be more like going to church. But it is a bit different.

There is a reason that David A. Bednar gave his talk is because there were so many who believed that you couldn’t talk about anything in the temple.

I went into temple prep after the realization that temple participation would be patterned after ancient worship practices, which are incredibly ritualistic and symbolic. With that frame of mind, i was not surprised by anything that occured. In fact, i was heartened to be proven right of what i expected once inside. Those who are put off by temple worship once inside are not centering themselves in ancient context. We need to prepare new temple-goers with ancient temple history more, centered in the plethora of examples of what goes on within the scriptures.
