The hygiene is tricky. I live in an old falling apart 88 Fleetwood Resort 30 foot travel trailer. 1/2 my sink only works. Hard to wash dishes! No washer. Cars broken down and I'm in a very very rural living ghost town. I'm 50 miles round trip from nearest populated town with a home depot & a Walmart. It's a very expensive town in CA high desert. So, having to wash all towels, sheets, clothes in a 5 gallon bucket in my shower. Because I'm on septic I'm very limited in water usage. I don't use black tank. I carry out to local dump. Which is difficult. And expensive. Everything in CA is overpriced right now.. I'm currently tracking a critter through my trailer that somehow got in the other morning. It's a pain. I didn't spray my peppermint oil soon enough for spring. It's getting sprayed today!!!!😂car will eventually be repaired. Someway.

There’s another thing you might think of too, ants don’t like cinnamon. If you have any problems with ants, get some powdered cinnamon and put that around inside, with your food, keeps them out. I one time lived in a trailer with a lot of those little “piss” ants. I think they are carpenter ants. And bay leaves in your dry goods keeps bugs out of your dry goods. This surprised even me, I had a jar of macaroni for 2 years with bay leaves in it, not one bug, and the macaroni didn’t get that funky smell. It works great!! Even with crackers, spaghetti, flour, beans….dry goods. ❤️❤️

Good info for what you find works for you and your setup. I worry about quartzite and the critters associated with it. I would most likely stay far outside and into the more remote BLM areas to try to minimize critter contact and less people contact. I need to be able to wander from anywhere I set up camp.

Miss Sarah lives this life to be happy and some of that joy comes from sharing her travels.
We all Love and Appreciate you Miss Sarah! Years ago I traveled our country by motorcycle and slept under a tarp covering us both.
Today from my camper in eastern Missouri I am watching rain and hearing about tornadoes in the area. I work temporarily for a log home builder to money and repair my pickup and bike which I will never be without.
At 858 years of age I am no camping expert or professional even though I raised my kids canoe camping and snowshoeing into winter camps.
I for one am so glad you are happy Miss Sarah. I have watched your struggles and victories, but I am most impressed when your smile is real.
With Love and Respect, You are in my thoughts and prayers

( continued) Eventually I'll go back to propane stove cuz you have to heat water sometimes if we lose power. We get heavy minerals in our local well water in this old ghost town cause in the 1800s they struck gold here and The Yellow Astor Gold mine turned out to be one of the largest strikes in U.S. history. So arsenic and minerals in our well water comes with thd territory. Lots of filter usage needed. But I have to replace my hot water element once every year as the minerals corrode the metals.

When I loaded up my food for your camping trip, I used a cooler I bought at Walmart, very similar to a Yeti. I replaced the ice only two times and my food lasted 6 days! Impressive I thought! That was one of my major concerns. Not anymore! (I still won’t go in a hole though, never gonna happen!)

    • @coastalartistlivingonislan8395
      @coastalartistlivingonislan8395 10 дней назад +2

We pre chill the yeti cooler I’m in Florida. High heat and humidity. Heat index today might get close to 100 degrees. It’s only May.
Pre chill the cooler for two days before we head off to the beach or on small boat for a few days.
We also use dry ice sometimes.
We think the yeti was worth the investment. We bought a second one that was larger.
One goes in the jeep, one goes in the truck year round.
We are more stationary these days as we aged we decided with health issue to do shorter trip from home base.
      Hope this into helps!
      Pre chill!!

You’re living your life as you want to. Just like any of us. The idea that women can’t connect where they are to what they want is truly puzzling. If you wait for the confidence to make moves you’ll waste precious time. The more you do the more comfortable you are. You can’t short circuit straight to feeling comfortable before the doing. You’d think by naturally living this wouldn’t be so mysterious

Paul watched the video today. And then I looked up how much one's shower is. On Ebay it is over 150 ; on Amazon it is 150 for the Coleman portable rechargeable shower. Mine coast 10 Walmart Camping and it is a solar shower. Then I have the rechargeable showers. And I keep me a clean bug sprayer from the hardware store and take the wond off of this. These come in one or two gallon and just pump them up. If a push comes to a shove I don't bathe everyday either. I can wash up or do the hillbilly wash up the most important parts. i have the shower stall too. I have a collaspeable bucket somewhere around here. And I use the wipes from Walmart and get a bundle of three of these at a time. I take the collegen peptides and just order two more pounds of these today. Its a four inch in diameter tube with an attachment to put air into the tube for pressure. It is not going to weight all that much when set up. They paint the white pipe black. And have a way to put a little hose on it and hose sprayer. There has to be an air valve there to put in some air to pressureize the system. I liked seeing the tattoes today and the little shirt on one. I ordered me some food today. Ground sirlion, chicken sausage and the other stuff. Oh I cannot recall what one was talking about the neogean spray bottles for washing the dishes. I will have to look into these bottles. What I got was two of the 1/2 gallon water bottles for me to drink out of. I get it one does get good stuff for living on the road. One in while if one can how about renting a trail horse and going for a ride. The trail horse will follow the same trail everyday. Its know its way back home too. Look on line and see the pets people are getting now; little donkeys, little horses, and little cows. The people that breed these little animals will charge a lot for them about 1000 to 2000 dollars. Getting these off of a farmer it is way less. The best pot seed come from Amsterdam and they will mail the seeds in the mail. Good their site and they have a how to grow the stuff too. In June on the 4th am comming up my 44 anniversary off of everything and yes I did have to do a lot of inside of me work too. I still have to work on me. Years ago I used to hitchhike all over the good ol usa. And I stopped off at road side rests, and anywhere I could sleep. I washed up in many gas station bath rooms cleaning up my hair and my body. Washed up at the road side rests. Hobo shoestring on youtube his videos are still up so far can wash up his beard and body on two gallons of water. A bucket and some water and rag and just go for it. I don't clean up every day either. I shave up when I have to do so sensitive skin. My go to is the hillbilly bathe. Get the necessary parts all cleaned up and just go on. I have food comming in so I have to look for that person bringing me some eggs a lot of them, some sirlion, chicken sausage. Yogart, and other things. Chicken breast strips. I made up some Navajo Fry bread last night. The receipe is on pinterset.com . I may the one cup of flour version, 1 and one half spoonfulls of baking powder, and one half cup of milk pluss a spoonful or two more. A pinch of salt. I don't use any salt in mine. Medium heat and just medium little pancakes. I ate all of mine. Am still reading my self defense books that that ex-police officer sent me that she had on ebay. Basically if there is threat going on, we are to attack first then get away from that attacker. Oh I wanted to let one know about Brandon Clark, he is called the da garbage disposal. He is in London right now and they are eating English food. He is with Bob another big eater. And I watch girlinthewoods and watched Stobe the hobo ride the frieghts too. Stobe drinks way too much for me. Stobe got hit by an Amtrack passenger train and he did not make it. His videos are still online. In Cleveland Ohio we have a gambling casinio and the rock and roll hall of fame. Cleveland has a lot of stuff to see. They have some good malls too. People who live on farms don't bathe everyday either. They will wash up some too. The big eaters are eating hamburgers too. Have fun out on the road. Get the silve dimes these are shiney too. Not the wooden nicholes. Paul in Ohio

I'm NOT a fan of REI because they are actively anti-motorized off highway travel. They support hiking, skiing and the like but they also support organizations that try to shut down trails for Jeeps and side by sides and the like.
