Absolutely brutal, utterly insane story. Its worldbuilding, characters, and storytelling are so skillfully executed that it left me constantly astonished by how well Q Hayashida was able to pull it off.
@dyneol yeah, he obviously haven't heard a lot of breakcore, because igorrr isn't even making it into top 10 breakcore artists out there. Maybe when "Hallelujah" was released he did, but after he was signed to metal blade that was it.
It’s a fucking miracle that Mappa picked up Dorohedoro. Even shows like Berserk get shafted when it comes to adaptations, so for one of the most under the radar manga ever to be picked up by a studio that goes the extra mile with anything they make is astounding
I just started watching Dorohedoro from a random RUclips suggestion. I can't say anything about the manga, as I have not read it, but this music zeros right in on the feeling of Dorohedoro, the brutal action, dark and gritty scenery, deeply ominous feelings.. This is good shit, and so is the anime.

Listening to Igorrr somehow landed me listening to the full Dorohedoro soundtrack, which led me to read the manga with the OST blasting. Also my youtube feed is now full of clips from the anime. I regret nothing, I'm loving every moment of it.
I think the anime's official soundtrack tried to include aspects of this song in the track "TIC TOC", but some may feel that adaptation doesn't live up to what I'd call the deeper Dorohedoro energy present here
I listened to both the tracks side by side to analyze the differences and this is what I've got: - added a heartbeat instead of the undulations - sped it up a bit just a hair, though without the undulations it feels a little slower - REALLY similar chord progressions and general 4/4 rhythm flow of the beginning, i think it's in a different key too - the undulations in the igorrr track mutate more. it's interesting to listen to as a song but would probably be hella distracting on a subconscious level, and results in a much slower buildup because this is a full 4 minute song - the tone of the b section is slightly different in the igorrr track, which is more symphonic than ambient. it's also much longer, and has a lot more going on. has a operatic section because you know it baby. the knowname track also returns to the heartbeat motif - generally the metal growl bit is where the two tracks more heavily diverge. igorrr also goes back to a breakcore beat briefly, and has more sung solos. i think it's fair to say that the knowname track ends in the middle of like, igorrr's b section and just doesn't have more phases afterwards - the style of a hard-cut-off ending is similar between both tracks but igorrr's has a lower energy carrying it there compared to knowname's All in all, I think that the edits made for TIC TOC were probably to make it more in line with something that works better as soundtrack as opposed to a truly free-standing piece, the way this track is, but I also do agree that it sacrificed a lot of the more ambient tension and tone for this end. (K)NoW_NAME is really talented as a composer, but the breakcore and majority of the operatic elements just aren't them I think, so you end up having to strip out a lot of what makes this track so iconic.
