Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪 Fused my right ankle 6 months ago, and now work full time as a welder walking minimum 14000 steps a day on concrete floor, have no pain at all and don't even think about my foot anymore.
I hope you will have the same result as me !

Thanks for sharing Patrik. This sounds really positive. I am looking forward to walking pain free and getting back to my usual activities.

      @@anklefusiongirl You will be
pain free faster than you think.
Was out of my cast December 28 2023 and started working halftime Januari 29 2024 , then fulltime Februari 15 2024.
My whole body was painful at first from not doing hard work for months, not just my foot .
But now April 6 2024 a little weak and stiff in my foot and leg, but no pain at all 👍😀
Nobody can even see when i walk that it's fused .

What type of fusion did you have? I’m going for a TT ankle fusion..

Hi Mark, thanks for commenting. It was an ankle arthrodesis (fusion) of the tibia and talus bones.

That’s exactly that what I’m getting tomorrow. How was your pain? Thank you for responding.

Hey Mark, the pain hasn’t been as bad as I expected. Keep the leg elevated and take it easy, I am 5 weeks in so it’s still early days for me but if you want to direct message me via my email (sarahsennen@btinternet.com) I’d be happy to share my experience if useful. I also plan to share a 5 week update on here v soon.

Broke my ankle over a year ago and surgeon told me recently I’ll need a joint replacement eventually (50 years old), changed my health dramatically. What made you chose fusion vs. Joint replacement?

Hi Rob, I’m in my forties and I am pretty active, so the advice was to go for a fusion rather than a joint replacement. I researched both options and I didn’t want to have to deal with a worn out joint replacement in 20 years time.
