His understanding of music is preternatural. No one taught this guy. You can hear in the lyrics how he goes about forming verses. He’ll be on triplets one moment, then, out of nowhere he breaks into short 16th note speed rhyming. People in the Chicago Symphony work for years to develop the type of song segmenting that Prof has had in his tool box all along. He is outside the box and he’s going to stay there. Unpredictable is a perfect word to describe Prof!
Love the reaction. Genuinely great analysis. So true about the range and unpredictability of his delivery. He's not exactly reinventing the wheel or anything and his music/lyrics might not be very thought provoking or really have anything of substance to say (although there are a couple exceptions) but it has such an uniquely original quality/energy to it that I still really enjoy a lot. I'm just so sick of the same ol tired, highly regressive, unoriginal, uninspired, disingenuous, lil Wayne clone BS "hip-hop" that has infuriatingly been dominating the mainstream for more than a decade now, so I always find it extremely refreshing/satisfying on the rare occasion I hear something as genuinely unique/interesting/original as Prof. It's artists like him and Coast Contra that we really need right now. Don't get me wrong, Prof is obviously nowhere near as good as Coast Contra but NOBODY is, so he is still far better than most of the industry and very enjoyable to listen to.
Isn't that phrase at the end about method man on a wu tang song. I think it's something like there's not only one method to his style. Ghost face was described as "Now you see me now you don't"
Anyone want to explain "ive been chasing beat down by the 12" to me? I have a few different theories as to what it could mean but they're probably all wrong 😂 when i think "beat" i think of cops, especially vice, and the areas they patrol. So is he saying he gets stopped by cops alot in a certain area? (I would assume "the 12" is like a train or something). Please correct me if im wrong.
PROF is vastly under appreciated.

Yuh!!!
Also prof and tech 9
please do tough boy❤❤❤
Prof influence list i can hear super clearly;
Mac Dre, Cee Lo, King Los, Lil Dicky
"in a pickle" is a common phrase referring to encountering a problem or a conundrum. Reading comprehension works wonders.
Also "in a pickle" could be saying put in a straight jacket at jail or mental facility because the straight jacket is often called a "pickle suit"
@@SmokeEater509 chillllll
Dude. Go see him live. Also look more into Minneapolis hiphop. RSE all day!

The 12 is the police. It’s a play on the perception of them also playing jury
The 12 is a slang for the police. I believe it comes from the old tv series Adam 12.
@Pcytripper thanks! Realized I was hearing it wrong. "Chased and beat" instead of "chasing beat". Makes a lot more sense now.
