One of the best games that I played with MSX. It was nice to refresh memories, played this through yesterday with browser emulator. Now, do it again and master it. No cheats, improve timing and play as it should be played. Your dealing specially with jumping skulls was horrible and remembering routes is another frustrating thing.
I wonder if this game was modified because he gets hit quite often and the vitality bar comes right back up. I remember in the old game you could only get hit a few times before you would get a game over.

hehe ele ta usando algo p manter a vida alta, obviamente pela habilidade dele nao teria chego ao fim, tem dezenas de coisas escondidas q aparecem dando soco em algumas partes do mapa tbem - jogo top, like pelas memórias q o jogo tras
I seen a Samsung Spc-1000 version of that game and it is a clone made by Sammi Soft because the colors in it is white, black, and gray. It’s a sad clone port to play
i always thought the first screen of first level had moutains in the background in the sunset.. now that i see it again decades later i see that it was in fact a cave lol.
I think you mean the flashlight. It has something to do with the item bags, but I can't remember exactly what it does. Like most items it disappears after a couple of uses.

Played games like age of empires, rise of nations, heroes of might and magic without a clue on strategy as a kid. Same with RPGs with no clue how to level, fight, or compose a proper party.

I like how konami made goonies different. Instead of kids having an adventure, the game looks like a big brother saving his little brothers.
It's funny he can carry 7 kids but only 1 key

i played this also in the 80s. i lived in kuwait. salmiya. watched the movie goonies then got the game for msx. whalla those were the days
Love the game, used to play it on my Canon MSX. Learned only recently that the game was after a movie, I should watch it sometime.
The first game I ever finished. Borrowed a friend's Commodore Hit-Bit in the 80s and played the hell out of it (and Knightmare). Good times.

Most likely. He's using cheats and the footage looks way too good to be coming directly from the original hardware.

It was too hard for me. Too compkex and needed lots of precision.. Which was too much as a kid less than 10 yrs old
