Poor Yorito, all he wanted was to go home and he ends up stuck in the Yamibito's nightmare world after all his earlier fighting. Too much fear and stress will send someone into a catatonic and cowardly state if their "flight" instincts are more prominent, or drive them into a berserk rage that forces them to lash out at everything around them. Yorito started the game with a stronger flight instinct but develops stronger fight instincts from his sergeant's instructions and support as well from all the monsters he's forced to fight. Maybe it's a bit of poetic justice for the Yamibito. They tried to invade the human world, now they have a berserk psychopath running around in THEIR world with an array of military grade weapons at his disposal who is indiscriminately gunning down everything that moves. And the only reason he's reached such a state is from their constant threatening, scaring, and tormenting him. They turned Yorito into a monster with an undying hatred of their kind and automatic weapons who is now on THEIR home turf, and he's out for blood. Rip and tear, Yorito, punish them for their wickedness. You may not have gotten home, but at the very least you'll have all the revenge you could ever want.

Considering Yorito's ending cutscene... I think the Yamibito are the ones who actually are stuck in Hell with him. He just makes those satanic fuckers eat lead. They even try to run off.
According to the fan book; He's most likely stuck in a dimension where Yamibito are the dominant life form on earth, as opposed to humanity (Siren 2 goes into parallel worlds for its cosmic horror)
One thing I think Team Silent does well which you can see in this game which also got them fired is Having the gameplay reflect the narrative. Your playing as a soldier at one point so because of that it makes sense that the game becomes a bit faster and turn more action oriented. I think thats one of the great things about silent hill. In the 1st game combat works and i like it but it is pretty slow too and with the animations given it makes sense due to harry just being a normal guy. I think this game captures Narrative gameplay very well. Silent hill 4 did this too but on a whole different level, not just combat but psychological too with the way certain game choices and locations and patterns of how to spend your time in the room. Almost to a fault some would say, very risky and its nice to see that the creator of this game still tried to keep this alive even after Konami got rid of them for it. Silent hill is really something special and smart, its more than just a game in a lot of ways and team silent really looked past making money and all that and really just went for it and unfortunately Konami is the worst company for that. Thank god these guys joined Sony afterwards. I see the same potential of Silent hill in this game and I hope later on they will go back to it.
This franchise is much more famous in Asian region. I played the beginning half hour of 'Siren 2' years ago. Then, I really felt nauseous, and have never touched that game again...This is the only horror game which spooked me. It doesn't like modern horror games that are full of jump scares. It's the world they create, which really got into you.
Siren 1 gripped my nerves enough (Harumi's missions are a nightmare). I think Siren 2 might have actually killed me if I played it. Those Yamibito are something else, I tell ya.
Correction: It is still called SIREN 2 in some regions including Japan, not Forbidden Siren 2. Another correction is that Mamoru did NOT know that he was going to open the gates of the Underworld. Siren describes the final outcome your character will achieve in the mission regardless of whether they intend to achieve it or not.
Regarding that whole thing at the beginning about wanting the community to have to put in a collaborative effort to beat the first game, that is absolutely something that can and has worked, but I think it works better when it's finding something smaller within the game rather than beating the game itself. Fez would be a good example, as most of that game could be completed without any sort of guide, but uncovering the hidden collectables was kind of a journey for the community. Many people found the answers by simply data mining, but then it became a matter of figuring out HOW those answers were meant to be obtained (one part required translating binary code, for example). There's also the whole story of how the binding of isaac community unlocked the lost character, where even data mining wasn't an option since the character was added in an update once the creator knew they had found all the clues. These were widely considered fantastic design by most people, and anyone who wasn't involved could still enjoy the games without having to look things up (unless they were a completionist, in which case fez was a nightmare).
Genuinely cool how they wanted an ARG style of game progression in the first game. This is truly an example of the game being way ahead of its time. Imagine if people played SIREN nowdays on YT and people collaborate together to solve these puzzle solutions and enable the YTber to explore more scenarios.

I remember when I first read about Forbidden Siren in magazines as a teen. The reviews weren't promising. Years later (when I turned 23) I bought me a Ps2, Silent Hill 2 and even later a copy of the second Siren installment because I couldn't find the first one. While SH2 gave me cozy creeps, FS2 was pure terror and even got me a bit paranoid. You can definitely see a strong contrast between them two and I love both franchises for their styles. For some odd reason the first one has German and English dub (the German one was actually decent) but the second one has English and Japanese dub. Never really bothered me since I had to practise English back then. This franchise really deserves more love.

Really glad to see you enjoyed the second game Nitro. I think the comparison between these 2 is very similar to Silent Hill 1 vs 3.... Silent Hill has that constant fear factor that sets you on edge while 3 hit's you with some really powerful moments. Forbidden Siren 2 is awesome and glad to see it get some love.
Oh my god... I remember that promo. I don't know if that was ever released on TV but I wouldn't blame any kid from having a flinch response flipping through channels after the fact. The only other thing I can really say gave me that feeling was PT and honestly that teaser kind of made me afraid of my own hallway at night... -_-
I'd love to play this game but I can't be bothered to get a Japanese PS2. I hear pretty much nothing but good about it from people who have played this "trilogy". I've only played 1 and BC though. How did you get a hold of it?

If you're lucky you can pick up a copy for $20-30 by import and swap magic is probably the best way to play it unless you wanna go for emulation.
Forbidden SIren is one of the best horrors around. God I wish we could get a sequel....Blood Curse was a bit of a let down....if only they went back to it's roots. Give us a town, a good cast of Japanese people and let the horror begin.

I don’t feel bad looking up what to do in the first game now knowing that the developers wanted to build a community that discussed what to do in certain parts. It gives it a life outside of the game in our minds (as you said like P.T. Did) but unfortunately I didn’t get to play this back then and no one I knew played it either
Man, kinda regretting my second thoughts on my gut instinct to pick up Forbidden Siren 2 when I was still living in PAL territory. You see, I had given it my all trying to complete the original way back when and never fully got through it (the objective system really stumped me) but I'm glad to see the follow up fixes all of my shared gripes.
THANK YOU for reviewing this! One of my best friends and I LOVED the first one (we’re glad it re-emerged on PS4!) but never got around to playing this sequel! I found your channel through your Silent Hill videos, been going on a bit of a nostalgic trip lately and I really love your content! I look forward to this October’s set of videos!
Theres this fucking game called "Michigan: Report from Hell" that, while i consider it one of the worst (in the best kind of way) horror games on the PS2, let alone alone the entire genre, the body horror just goes all the way through the roof and theres NOTHING that explains what the hell is going on, you only know that you are a cameraman helping the sound dude and a qt reporter "report" a natural disaster, but the disaster is anything BUT natural, its so fucking bizarre, but when you know who made the game (Grasshopper Manufacture), it really doesnt surprise me. you should totally check it out, Nitro.
Suda 51 was only the producer on it, but it seems like he's a lot more hands off with it compared to Killer 7 for which he was a director, writer, and designer for.
I have finished the game few days ago and it's absolutely fantastic, I had a great experience while playing this game, it's way more enjoyable than the first one, very different too This is the first Forbidden Siren that I can actually finish Everything was perfect, from the soundtrack to the monsters design and the whole atmosphere of the game. I'm glad that they made it a bit easier than the first, I should keep trying to do the first one but it's so damn hard...

the Halloween specials on this channel are amazing. It's officially something I'm going to keep looking forward to every year. Here's hoping for many Halloween seasons to enjoy in the years to come!
They're called guide dogs not seeing eye dogs, although that's a common mistake. Seeing eye is a company that I'll say gives out guide dogs, might not be completely accurate but close enough. Think of how people in the south refer to most sodas as coke or tissues most refer to as Cleenex. Same deal. Siren is one of those games I'd rather watch someone else play rather than try myself. Really like these horror game reviews. You should do Fatal Frame and the Suffering.
I’m glad you brought up how the original is very similar to pt in how it’s super complicated and you’ll very likely need to collaborate with others to figure out how to finish it
Something I find funny about Soji's English dub (Or at least all I could find of it) is that he actually kinda sounds like he's speaking in an English accent akin to the the dub in Siren 1, it always gave me the idea that he was one of the cast members who knew how to speak English the most.
This game is really hard af. Imagine trying to find a small object like key on the floor without any indicator on the map unlike in todays modern games. And that makes this game more realistic plus the usage of real human facial expressions of characters are way ahead of its time.
Love the horror videos the most. The ending was great. Interesting use of the jumping effects as part of the outtro, I haven't seen that used well like that before.
Okay so right when Nitro Rad was about to lift up his shirt my phone went to greyscale because of the bed time setting so when he lifted it up I genuinely thought it was the video XD
Yeah I think it is since you are looking through the dogs eyes seeing the character your playing as so this is another example of second person in video games
I've only recently come across your channel, and I'd just like to say I've really come to like the content! The intros, jokes, reviews, the whole nine yards! Great way of hearing about games I haven't played as well. I think it's about time I sub. uwu
In a way, there is a sad irony to Yorito's conclusion in the story. He didn't get to go home, I really felt for the guy. He fought the hardest of the all the characters to get out without being taken by these monsters. Only to be so unfortunate to be stuck in the Yamibito world. The only somewhat of a payoff for his efforts was that he can continue to make the monsters pay for the torment they caused him. His blaze of glory in the last few segments you play as him in the game had me cheering despite the bleak situation he was in. Really he had one of the best character arcs I've seen in a horror game.
Fun thing, I tend to find big faces in the wrong places funny. I don't know why, but they often make me chuckle, even if in real life, it would be terrifying to see.
18:00 the shibito mission is hard as fuck but also kind of hilarious you play as some soldier shibito (think a ww2 soldier even) trying to rescue a girl shibito from the apartment complex, as its infested with yamibito.

I am bad at rhyming, but what's not bad is this video.
GRAND--
son
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH"
Haven't laughed so much in a long time, really liked the video!
Man that part with the face on the belly just made my freaking day! So funny!
Keep up the great work NitroRad!
I really wish they’d look at this series again 😞
12:02 Oh yeah, that uncanny valley is in full force here. 0-0
17:12 Aw, well at least this exists. Let's just pretend this is canon, okay?
17:35 *Oh hell yeah!*
16:50 Eclipse?
Is that a BERSERK reference?
I don’t feel bad looking up what to do in the first game now knowing that the developers wanted to build a community that discussed what to do in certain parts. It gives it a life outside of the game in our minds (as you said like P.T. Did) but unfortunately I didn’t get to play this back then and no one I knew played it either
Can I just say that I really love the cinematic bits you do at the beginning of videos? They’re so well done and really set the tone
I love seeing you put so much care into the videos you make. Shows you're truly passionate for what you do. Mad respect for that man.
I come back and binge NitroRad's stuff all the time, and in this video 13:30 always leaves me heaving with laughter.
Really sad I never got a chance to play this masterpiece .
James' face at 13:22 is just so devoid of hope and that scream was probably the best male scream I've ever heard.
Isn't that a Suda 51 game? If you liked that check out killer 7.
I'm surprised you don't have more views, although I kinda know why. You cover the games no one else will. You should be up there with guys like Caddicarus and Projared. I dunno how youtuber relations work but have you looked into colabs? I really wanna see you get more recognition
16:54 So... does that make him the Japanese Doom Guy?
Yes
It’d be cool to see Yorito and Suda team up and fight against the Shibito and the Yamibito. They both become protectors of their home realm and prevent the evil gods from touching it.
@@MoskHotel also Yoriko from siren 1, the college girl who was with Tamon and she became a badass at the end killing Tamon's shibito parents. Pretty sure Shiro used SDK blood(which is infused with miyako's blood and red water) so she's an immortal too. If Yorito is cursed by Otoshigo, he might met SDK in otherworld.
the Halloween specials on this channel are amazing. It's officially something I'm going to keep looking forward to every year. Here's hoping for many Halloween seasons to enjoy in the years to come!
13:33 that is probably the best scream I've ever heard
They're called guide dogs not seeing eye dogs, although that's a common mistake. Seeing eye is a company that I'll say gives out guide dogs, might not be completely accurate but close enough. Think of how people in the south refer to most sodas as coke or tissues most refer to as Cleenex. Same deal. Siren is one of those games I'd rather watch someone else play rather than try myself. Really like these horror game reviews. You should do Fatal Frame and the Suffering.
Looks really good for a ps2 game. I kinda wish the Silent Hill games on ps2 had that camera angle.
My favourite NitroRad video!
That smile at the end actually made me reel my head back a bit. Nice one.
Man, I love watching these videos with the closed captions on!
17:35 nitro rad: "kyoya suda?!"
(Epic rock music start)
Me: oh boy this is going to be awesome
Love the horror videos the most. The ending was great. Interesting use of the jumping effects as part of the outtro, I haven't seen that used well like that before.
Okay so right when Nitro Rad was about to lift up his shirt my phone went to greyscale because of the bed time setting so when he lifted it up I genuinely thought it was the video XD
It is great to see you do videos more often! I really appreciate it cause you put so much work into them in a very short time.
siren 2 made a second person perspective wow
I really like the idea of playing as a blind person in a video game, and I'm glad that Forbidden Siren 2 was able to execute that idea so well.
Just discovered this channel ! Happy to see games that nobody talks about.
Loved those small glitchy details at the end of the video
It's amazing that games like this go under the radar, really puts meaning in "hidden gem"
Siren 1
Nitrof Rad: I want scarier enemies!
Siren 2
Nitro Frad: *FUCK GO BACK*
08:33 Is this an example of "Second person" perspective?
Yeah I think it is since you are looking through the dogs eyes seeing the character your playing as so this is another example of second person in video games
First channel i am glad and trusty to watch an horror video. For real man, your quality is so underated. Keep it on.
Youmu
Oh shit! 1:52 Toyama is a huge Akibaranger fan! The guy was a bro for making Gravity Rush, now he's my hero.
I've only recently come across your channel, and I'd just like to say I've really come to like the content! The intros, jokes, reviews, the whole nine yards! Great way of hearing about games I haven't played as well. I think it's about time I sub. uwu
Seems to me that the tutorial prompts are a passive-aggressive dig at the reviewers who thought Siren 1 was too difficult
13:51
I wonder what those tissues in the trash bin were used for 🗑
So one is a steady stream of uncomfortable creep and 2 is rare peaks of creepy uncomfortable that may make you take breaks.
@13:27 - Caught off guard by how clever and well-executed this bit was. Hard to make me laugh when I'm alone and my ribs are aching right now lol
Siren 1 seemed almost perfect. Puzzles seem unfair hard. Now this game is fucking awesome! Thanks Intro Rad!
Your content is definitely up there with you tubers like Caddicarus and Brutalmoose. Love it!
why have I just found out about you? Subbed like crazy.
Siren in its entirety was unique.
Jolly moly those yamibito things are amazingly grotesque! Love them!
Why does Brady gets into so much trouble geez he'll never learn.
I love your videos a whole lot, dude. Its evident you put a lot of effort into them. Keep it up.
Holy crap those special effects are great!
Fun thing, I tend to find big faces in the wrong places funny.
I don't know why, but they often make me chuckle, even if in real life, it would be terrifying to see.
18:00 the shibito mission is hard as fuck
but also kind of hilarious
you play as some soldier shibito (think a ww2 soldier even) trying to rescue a girl shibito from the apartment complex, as its infested with yamibito.
Siren 2 is the scary games of all time
I loved the lore of this game but the whole sightjacking thing just did my head in. Never could get the hang of it.
YES!!! NitroRad finally reviews one of my favorite video games of all time!!!
Wow, great video! I didn't even know Siren had a sequel, and this one looks creepy as all hell.
Dude, unlocking mini games by beating the base game, now THAT adds replay value, wish there was more of that in games.
