My pattern tells me to decrease 7 stitches throughout the binding. It says one at beginning and end. One on both sides of each shoulder and one in the center back. It does not say to use a smaller needle. I have tried it but ribbing doesn’t seem to work after the first round. If i drop to size smaller needle will that take care of the decreases? It says at the beginning and end. This interferes with my front band. I have ripped out 4 times and not liking it. I hope you can help me figure this out.

Not sure it wants you to decrease 7 sts but would def try the smaller needle to see if that gets you a desired result.
