    Great review, thanks! Headlamp tip…I always flip one battery around so it can not accidentally turn on. Has worked well for me over the years.

      @@saggot420son nope, it's not using any charge to power anything, needs both connected, correctly. If this is a concern flip both batteries.

    Dan, your YT game has 10xed. It’s has been great seeing your channel evolve. Your content has always been on point but now all the bells and whistles are an added bonus. That intro is money bro. Good luck to you and all your subscribers this season. 💪🏼

    I have ran the Lanshan 2 for the last 3 seasons. Virtually the same tent other than it is the two person version (1 person available too). It is over half the cost and has been excellent. Next tent I will try will be the Nemo Hornet 2. Hunting partner runs it and it is ultra light and freestanding. Keeping your trekking poles on you if you are base camping is nice. Cheyenne

    The boiling water and putting it in the nalgene is genius. I wish I would of thought of that last year haha.

      In a pinch, you can pee in your buddy’s nalgene and put it in your bag. 😝

    I’ve been running the Mountainsmith Mountain Shelter LT. So far, I love it. It’s been really good to me. I was skeptical about going floorless, but at the end of the day I haven’t had any issues yet. It keeps me dry, I can cook in it, it’s lightweight. I can get all my gear inside with me and the vestibule is huge and easy to cook in with everything inside. And the cost is super low, I found mine for $60 new with the tags still on it. And for anyone wondering, It’s a Patrick Smith (Kifaru) Design. It’s essentially a mini Sawtooth. Kind of surprised Kifaru hasn’t put one out yet.

    I ran the Gossamer gear, DCF The One , last elk season. No problem on the day before season rain storm in Colorado, just a little condensation. Great little tent.

    I actually bought this tent for this year as well. The vestibule is massive on it compared to my last tent. It's a solid little tent, I'm 6'2" and fit in there comfortably

    Trailstar tent bro! 12oz, sleeps 3 plus gear and for only $230. The trick for me is the $40 sol orange bivy sacks from rei. Keeps your expensive sleeping bag in top condition. With a good down jacket I can go from desert conditions to freezing conditions and never change gear. Desert=cowboy it with just the bivy. Freezing=tarp, sleeping bag, bivy and down jacket.

    Looks great! I bought a seek outside cimarron a few years ago - it’s floor-less, no big mesh. It’s light and roomy, but has its disadvantages. I like the look of this shelter, and that it has a floor and mesh. Look forward to your updates on this gear!

    The TarpTent brand deserves a mention. They set up with your trekking poles, or they offer poles if you do not want to be dependent on trekking poles.

    I think the only thing that sucks with those type of tent is, if you use your trekking poles then you’ll have to take the tent down everyday. Unless you can find a carbon poles that breaks down and is light. Unless you are breaking down your camp everyday then yea that’s good. And the peax headlamp is really nice.

    • @huntnnw
      @huntnnw 2 года назад +1

      I only use one pole once I am packed in and i usually put it in my pack till needed. Bring a cheap light extra pole for tent if you need a pole
