This country NEEDS to care for those who have given everything willingly. Heart mind soul and body to defend not themselves but the people standing behind them. Our armed forces are our sheild and tip of the Spear. We must support them and care for them.

"I served but I am not a Veteran was medically discharged"
Medically Discharged, or honorably discharged, you're still a Veteran. You served, and you took that oath to protect this nation against all enemies both foreign and domestic.
If it weren't for my own medical problems, I'd have gladly joined the military when I turned 18. But I had a cousin who was a Marine (He fell asleep at the wheel in 2006), and another Cousin who is in the Navy.

If he didn't survive I wouldnt exist and that sends chills down my spine. I tear up as I reflect every time i hear the national anthem. This song/and the original cadence video are incredible...gives me goosebumps and reminds me of how grateful we should be for all who have layed their lives on the line for the glory of our flag. I am a USMC Vet, I was medically retired and wound up on the streets for two years. My brother served in the Navy and is one of the “22 a day”. I was almost one of them and wrote this an hour after I pulled my pistol out of my mouth.
    Today
Today I ring my voice, swearing service I am to do.
Today I ring my voice, for training is what I do.
Today I put on my uniform, so crisp in black and blue.
Today I put on my uniform, showing honors deep and true.
Today I recieve my orders, to a country far away.
Today I recieve my orders, for it has to be this way.
Today I start my shooting, and bombings through the night.
Today I start my shooting, bullets flying left and right.
Today I morn the fallen, in boxes they're taken away.
Today I morn the fallen, my comrades died this day.
Today I return a hero, the battles have all been won.
Today I return a hero, the lives taken, what have I done.
Today I am cold and hungry, in the country I once served.
Today I am cold and hungry, homeless, is this what I deserve?

Thank you for honoring our men and women who have fought for our freedom. When I listen it brings tears to my heart and eyes. The soldiers and their families have lost so much protecting me

I would love to hear an acoustic version, I think it would give the haunting vibe of the original acapella.

My husband is in the army. My uncles were in the militarily. Army, Air Force and the Marines. I've been a fan of this song since it first came out. It's awesomeness to see that you are making music videos. I catch myself singing out loud with you at times. Thanks for sharing Jonathan. Much love

I was starting to get anxious about joining the marine corps and trying my damndest, second guessing myself and trying to figure out what I wanted. Then for some reason I felt the urge to listen to one of the cadences the staff sergeant had me go through as we did our daily exercise and it's calmed me down and reinforced my decision to join the marines. Keep doing what you're doing, I love the work.
