I never served personally. But I have a deep respect for those who did. My parents were Air Force. Grandpa was a private in WW2 Eroupen theater, and my cousin was a Marine in desert storm. This country NEEDS to care for those who have given everything willingly. Heart mind soul and body to defend not themselves but the people standing behind them. Our armed forces are our sheild and tip of the Spear. We must support them and care for them.
RESPECT! This is amazing. I am a 21 year vet of the Canadian Forces, and on the board of an organization called Music Healing Veterans, where we give guitar lessons and kit out military veterans and 1st responders suffering from PTSD and other related visible and invisible injuries. Medical discharge or not, you stood up to defend our country, it is a lot more than many of these modern day free loaders are even willing to do. My Grandfather served, my father served. I was 4F from the age of 11 (DM) so I served my community as a vol FF / EMT and now as an Emergency Physician. It is what is in your heart that matters most! Stand tall.
"I served but I am not a Veteran was medically discharged" Medically Discharged, or honorably discharged, you're still a Veteran. You served, and you took that oath to protect this nation against all enemies both foreign and domestic. If it weren't for my own medical problems, I'd have gladly joined the military when I turned 18. But I had a cousin who was a Marine (He fell asleep at the wheel in 2006), and another Cousin who is in the Navy. Thank you for your service.
Don't feel bad I feel the same. I enlisted but didn't get to serve due to a medical uncharacteristic discharge. Due to my spine and to me I'm not a veteran I didn't get to serve as much as I wanted to fight for our country. I enlisted didn't serve so I don't consider myself as a veteran
The way there was old war videos later over the wall when he was standing with the gun with awesome!! This is a amazing song and everyone needs to hear it!!

I have never served, but grew up an Army brat. Fort Devins and Fort Drum, my younger brother recently re-enlisted and is up at Drum. Grandfather was a WW2 veteran, and purple heart recipient. If he didn't survive I wouldnt exist and that sends chills down my spine. I tear up as I reflect every time i hear the national anthem. This song/and the original cadence video are incredible...gives me goosebumps and reminds me of how grateful we should be for all who have layed their lives on the line for the glory of our flag. Such an honor to have the greatest soldiers defending our freedom.
I am a USMC Vet, I was medically retired and wound up on the streets for two years. My brother served in the Navy and is one of the “22 a day”. Music has been the focal point of my survival. As a survivor of years of abuse, near death, and being an empath. Every veteran I come across I thank. I also feel EVERYTHING they've been through. My heart cries every time. Just a the veteran standing before my salute to them doesn't show their pain neither do I. I went to basic with a Fleming, he was a tall res head so he was seen by the DI's the platoon helped in every way and we all graduated as the top platoon in the company, good to call him my friend

My grandson reminds me so much of you!! He is 15 and wants to join the Army like his dad. I am so very proud of him! He looks just like you. I think he is another version of you. LOL Thank you and all the other veterans for everything that you have given us. God and our soldiers should be the ones that we look up too!
My Uncle Was an Army Ranger in Nam. Today I just got word he passed away. I'm using this song to honor him. Thank you for making it. I hope his wife will be contacting VMI and getting the funeral for him he deserves.
