When you look at an industrial control panel wiring diagram despite how many pages they include, they most probably consist of two sections. One is the “Power or main circuit” and the other is the “Control circuit.”
    In this video:
    1. We'll check and understand the logic behind a Forward and Reverse motor control wiring diagram by means of a practical industrial example.
    2. We're going to convert that old Clockwise/Counterclockwise motor control wiring to a PLC wiring diagram.
    3. You'll learn how to draw a basic wiring diagram with EPLAN Electric P8. So this part would be very helpful in case you're not familiar with Electrical CAD software.
    4. You'll understand the basics of how to convert a wiring diagram to a Ladder diagram in the TIA Portal V16.
👉 To gain a better insight into reading and understanding Electrical Wiring Diagrams, watch these two videos first:
    ▶ upmation.com/wiring-diagrams/
    ▶ upmation.com/plc-wiring-diagram/
The mechanism that we're going to take as an example, is a three-phase electric motor that is installed on a conveyor system that moves the pallets toward a check weigher machine.
In this process, sometimes the operator must stop the conveyor, and sometimes turns on the conveyor in the reverse direction to move the pallets backward.
It is possible to implement this mechanism without a PLC but as you may know, these days, even for small-size processes we use PLC systems to control ALL of the mechanisms in the process, reduce the cabling works, and have more control over the process.
In a future video, you will learn how to wire the actual electrical devices of this process, download this software to the PLC, and simulate the process.
I really hope you'll learn something new from this video. If so happens, please LIKE and share this video with your friends, colleagues, or your students.

    Great thanks to the author!
I'm very glad that eventually someone gives us such valuable content. Being Electrical Control Design Engineer I find this videos extremely valuable for me. So, please sir, provide more information about designing (preferably using EPLAN) industrial automation. For example using safety relays, sensors connection on the diagram, designing control panels, dealing with terminals and so...
Perhaps looking through out one of your projects

    • @Upmation
      @Upmation  2 года назад +1

Hi, Ben! Sorry for missing out on your comment. The short answer to your question is, No!
That is because the stop condition will depend on "Stop" AND "XIC" at the same time. It means that to be able to stop the motor, there should be a motor fault AND the "Stop" push button should be pushed simultaneously. For instance, if we push the "Stop" push button and there is not a motor fault in the circuit, then the motor WILL NOT STOP. So putting them in parallel will make them independent. Please let me know if I can be of further help.

Hi, I am confused about wiring in 7:28. I see that you have used sinking type of connection(24VDC to coils), but i have checked the electrical diagram of this module in datasheet, and I saw that the outputs should be connected to the GND(sourcing type of output module), not 24VDC. Is this particular module both sinking and sourcing, I cannot find the information about that. Sorry, for my English skills ;) I would be grateful for response

Are you leaving the PLC program as it is? If so, the SR will never work. The reset is high, so no matter what happens on the set terminal, the output will always stay low. Am I missing sth?

Hi! At 6:03 you use a software to simulate a circuit, or is just animation graphic? I only know CADe SIMU and FluidSIM which can do this. It would be great to know more software with huge functional symbol sets.

The "Stop" N/C contacts and the "Motor Fault" N/C contacts should be in series not in parallel as you have drawn them. They should have their own terminal point at the PLC as shown on your PLC input drawing.

Q.2 and Q.3 Both are used for reset purpose when any one input disconnect then q.0 will be reset so connections should be in parallel
