    I should add one more thing. Whenever you find yourself overthinking, try to feel the ball in your hands, the wind on your face. Listen to the sound of the ball bouncing, the swish of the net, the squeak of shoes. Works way better for me than just thinking "back to the game" (guess that depends person to person though)

    My biggest realization is how much I overthink without realizing it. And after watching the philosophy of flow and this video, I realize I should stop overthinking, let things go how they go, and focus on action. Thank you so so much this will not only help me with basketball but also with life. Basketball is not life; it is a teacher of life.

    Man not only did this video help with my game it has helped my life, so much of the time I'm disconnected from what's going on around just staring into space or daydreaming and it makes it so hard to get anything done or be good at anything as I am stuck in my head thinking. After watching this from now on I will try to train the focus muscle and hopefully one day be fully here in the moment.

    It's so deep, I need to play this video 3x. well, first because om not native english speaker ofc. Second, I was really trapped in my own thought, literally overthinking till 07:03 lol.
    In the end this video really cleared stuffs from my mind. I was quit from basketball or any sport for more than a decade, currently restarting my life, yes it's quite late but I want it hard.
    I want to play basketball once again to keep my body fitness. Instead of just go get my self ready with running, and go to court, I ended up searching all over e-commerce for shoes, clothes, and every single things needed even ball that I could afforded without once took a real action. After watching this video, I just wear my worn shoes and run, and felt really good. Thanks for the inspiration.

    I’m a spiritual person and I made a similar change in my life .I feel that the devil or negative energy or whatever some one may believe in possibly the knowledge of good and evil that Adam and Eve ate pushes negative thoughts to harm us and positive thoughts at the wrong time to distract us so I cut myself of from too much emotion because you can have different reactions to the same thing depending on how you felt in that moment.

    • @DeepGameBasketball

      I'll add that emotions are just energy, and really aren't avoidable. If you learn to use the energy they give you for positive purposes, it doesn't matter whether the emotions themselves are negative or positive.

    The only way to experience pure reality is by putting our attention into any action that's taking place in front of us.

Well that didnt work as i intended😅

    For everybody that watched the talk my biggest advice and he talked abt it is don't treat this as a magic button that's gonna work for you consistently right away‚ be patient and take time to get really good at it‚ mental skills need time to develop too‚ you'll get there eventually but embrace the journey of getting better at it

    For me I feel like I’m playing on a leash. I worked so hard in the summer with my friend. We were always hooping and training so much harder than anybody else and my game skyrocketed and so did his. The problem was I’ve never been able to show my full potential in my game but during the summer I was playing decent (still not to potential) but I was
    starting for my varsity team and I was sometimes cooking the “best player” on our team. I think I’m the best so it was motivating for me. When the season and tryouts came around I was still working just as hard but I wasn’t playing the way I know I could against my teammates in front of the coaches. This lead to me not playing as much and starting out swinging jv and varsity. This was upsetting to me but I had a good jv performance so I played a good amount of varsity. I stopped swinging jv and varsity and I even started a game. Then after our holiday tournaments I started playing jv and varsity again and haven’t been playing anywhere close to the minutes I deserve. I haven’t even been doing that good on jv and I just seem lost and don’t know what to do. My season ends next week but I will be approaching my Senior year and now I feel like reclassing but I know I can prove myself this summer and next year. The only problem is if it’s bothered me my whole life why would it go away now. That has become my mentality and I need to change it but I need to figure out how. I know this was a lot but please, please, Coach or anyone do you guys have any suggestions. Also Coach I love your videos and really support your content and thank you so much for putting this stuff out there. I always used to watch and it started to help but I don’t know how to put myself at my peak.

      My friend is a senior and he also struggles with this. It’s hard to see him like this and it seems as though my thinking and my thoughts have not shown my actual capabilities. I also feel scared to play a lot but at the gym or during workouts I play so great but then to see that not happen in an actual game is just terrifying for me.

    Hello, so on the video " How to play with relaxed aggression" one of the workouts you suggested were"altitude drops" and I am curious to know how beneficial it was for your athleticism, were at the point you were able to dunk because of it?

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  2 года назад

      I can't quite speak for Coach Taylor, but one exercise won't make you dunk on its own. It needs to be a part of a full program in order to actually help you. But, I'm sure it did contribute to Coach T's athleticism, for sure.

    Hi coach.
    I want to ask something about what I've been doing regarding the deep games that I've been watching so far. And disclaimer, I only watch your deep games via RUclips, podcasts and 1 hour about deep games on the free website, because I can't pay for the complete deep game at that price.
    So I am now a fulltime basketball athlete at the professional level in Indonesia. And I just want to make sure what I get and practice from this deep game. So my team mates including my coach, they believe in and have a grip that a feeling of struggle, hard work can bring victory, because they only care about winning in basketball, and practice if someone makes another mistake, rookies like me will definitely be scolded, or yelled at by my coach, and I feel the exercise is like military training and their just missing the point of love playing the game itself. And there is one of my teammate, he always sees my shortcomings and never sees or praises me, he always criticize me. So when I first started I didn't have any confidence. But that changed after I watched your video about "inner confidence". And it really helps me to be myself. not only in basketball but in my daily life. So what I did, as the video says "validation", I thought I didn't have to rely on them so I could feel free to play even if i miss the shot or being yelled by my teammates or my coaches it doesn't matter, because of course they would always criticize me. Is it something that has been done right? or what do you think can be done again regarding my teammate? I've watched a lot of deep games on RUclips, it really helped me. Thank You.

      Hi,
      You're taking the right approach. Ultimately, you can't control your external circumstances to a perfect degree, so there are always going to be people and things that make it harder for you. The trick as you've figured out is that instead of relying on them for your performance and confidence, you rely on yourself, on your code and what you believe in, as well as your training both of the surface game and the DeepGame.

      Oke coach thankyou 🙏.
      And I have one more question, I just experienced this yesterday. So now we're having a season in our league, and that's 8 draws in each different city, so we travel every week city by city to play games. Then in our team there are all 16 players, and that's only 2 players who were not brought. I have experienced 3 times not being taken to compete in the cities. So every day I just practice alone with 1 of my friends, we go to the gym, then we practice together on the basketball court, then we do one on one, and after that it's over.
      And earlier I asked my coach why I wasn't brought back to play. And basically my coach said, "You have to have a mentality of 0 mistakes, you also have to show the coach to the other players if you can get a part. If you need to look at player statistics, about the players who are lacking here, you can catch them, and so on. "
      So I thought, how can I play basketball without making mistakes, even though other seniors have also made mistakes and are still trusted by the coaches. How can I, a rookie, show that. So what is the focus of playing basketball that has to be the best? because I just want to enjoy every practice and games. So, over time, I was also confused about what to practice here, how can I play and practice with the 2 people left behind. How can I still enjoy every process because I'm starting to get confused? and how do I make it so that one day I can be trusted to play? any suggestions? Thanks in advance sorry for the long story.

      okay so basically how do you not make mistakes during basketball practice? because my coach told me to have a 0 error mentality or he said I might make a few mistakes and no more than that. And that was probably the only way to earn my coach's trust. Even though some times my senior could have a mistake in practice and still my coach trust them. Thankyou coach Taylor.🙏

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  2 года назад

      @@yohanesaristarkhus4291 I think it's a bit naive to expect not to make any mistakes at all; in fact, making mistakes is a crucial step to improving.
      It sounds like the real thing you're concerned about is that you don't want to make drastic errors in practice. Just pay attention, slow down, ask questions, and practice things over and over again. Don't be hard on yourself for the mistakes you make, and you'll make less of them.
