Where is the 8 week program?
Hi deep game, I just tried meditating for the first time and as weird as this may sound.. it was kind of hard in a sense of keeping relaxed because of my posture. Can laying down on a bed or on the floor be just as beneficial or do I just need more practice sitting in an upright posture for the 20 minutes
@@ecomhish Doing it upright will serve you better as a beginner. You'll get more used to it as you do it more often.

@@DeepGameBasketball awesome thank you so much for the feedback, means a lot!
how to meditate: focus: sit tall and relax and focus on your breathing and heartbeat
not all the time u can also do it laying down and it’s much more comfortable
@@ytnbdot5061 coach taylor doesn't recommend it lying down. He said it on the forum.

I’ve started to sit with a basketball resting in between my thighs and hands, placing my fingers where the laces are and focusing on that, I’m hoping it’ll help me achieve even small moments of clarity when I grip a ball in game and my fingers go between laces, focusing on the way the fingers rest within each crease is kind of awesome. I’ll share any progress made in the case that this works out for me. Bless to all of y’all, thanks for another awesome video man.
How's the progress going?

Bro i stole you're idea and I'm doing it too, good idea

We need an update my guy 🙏
I’m not gonna lie when I opened my eyes I never felt so relaxed like this I’m definitely gonna start doing this everyday
Alr buddy did u actually do it everyday? And if so what were ur results?
Me too
I know this video is old but I just wanted to say that I’ve only been meditating for three days and when I worked out today my mind was so clear. It took me a little bit to realize but after a bit I realized that my mind was so still when usually my mind would wander a decent amount when working out.
I started this meditation about a year ago and it is just life changing. I meditate about 20 minutes every day. sometimes 15, sometimes up to 1 hour. My life has changed for the better because I feel better, more relaxed and it really helps with basketball
Im sooo happy ive found this channel
Thank you Taylor ❤️

Wow..... I normally can't sit still, or keep my eyes closed if i'm told to, my mind wanders. But I did not have even have any difficulty staying calm. Just wow!
Dude thank you soooo much for this
What a great way to tap people in. Just found this channel. We do similar content focused on mindfulness. Really appreciate this!
On my first time trying it, it wasn’t a good feeling bc my back was hurting a bit trying to sit with good posture. It was also hard to stay focused with my back hurting like that.
How are you a basketball player if you can't even sit straight? How do you get into a defensive stance?

I watch these videos while taking notes in my notebook. This video took me with taking notes 2 hours and 20 minutes. I have now a routine (more of a program) for every day of the week, so that I can keep being busy. I am exhausted (it is 9.20 p.m.), but happy and i know it was worth it. Thanks Coach. @@blessonmanu8944 Great.Hit me up with the results.I can tell you one thing I learned from this man:
COLD SHOWERS!!!
I heard him talking about cold showers and how it can build mental toughness,I thought all this was BS.Keep in mind I am only putting cold water on my body at the end of my actual shower for a duration of 60 secs.
I did that for a week and next thing I know is that I kept on banging shots(not just one time,I have been doing this daily for 2 weeks(playing very well))Not only shots though,my drive to the basket got better at least 40%.And my confidence is always very high just by doing 60 secs of cold shower for a week.
It may be that I am actually getting better and not because of the cold showers, but it is very unlikely.

FINALLY YES
thank you
I started meditating but i dont do it every day i do it every day of a game but im going to start doing everyday.
I have done it with you for the first time. This is the best feeling in the world. It's like you are flying, like gravity doesn't exist, like you are the only person in the world. I struggled a bit with keep being focused on the belly, but as I went further in to the meditation, it became easier and faster to focus back on it. To be relaxed was more easy, but it was difficult to have your entire body relaxed. It helps. I plan on doing it (with guidance of course in the first weeks, probably 1 month or 2) every morning before school starts (either online class or going to real school) and every evening before falling asleep (along with another 15 minutes of just thinking). These videos help so much. It is like I was walking blind a lot of times in my life before watching these videos. The reasons for every way of thinking are so easy to guess, and still only few of us (probably) would be able to guess and explain the reason (not me, I'm still learning). You are my best teacher by far(probably everybody's best teacher), thus far in my (our) life. Thank you so much for helping me and many other young players, to become the best possible person and player we all could become. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Have you still seen improvements?
@@clorox1k370 yeah, I am more relaxed and calm at basically anything now. Even when things don't really work out for me, I don't view it as horrible but am more willing to go with the experience and accept the fact that failures or negative things are a part of life and it doesn't affect me as much as it used to at least. Of course I still have no real inner confidence that no one can shutter but I feel more comfortable being myself, especially away from the court, and I'm in a better place than when I started all of this deep game stuff. I feel more happy and natural around others than I used to. Yes it does help to be honest.
It is great 👍 sir

Meditation 👁
I've probably used this to mediate like a million times now lmao
Is it ok if I do the basketball mediation where you stare at a basketball
Yea I think so but it's more advanced if u do it this way haha we have the same name
Now that you've learned this method, I would recommend using it instead of looking at the ball.
So sometimes when I meditate, I have these moments where I simply cannot focus... its like I have built up tension or emotion in my mind that I dont know how to get rid of. I have been meditating for about three weeks now and ruffly 1/3 times I have these "mental blocks" throughout. I have noticed that when I have this happen, next time I get on the court, I have more trouble getting into the zone. I'd appreciate any tips.
Those mental blocks are natural, and nothing to be worried about. Likely, you're starting to process emotional/mental blockages that have not been in your awareness before.
When this happens during meditation, just keep bringing your attention back to your breath every time you lose it, and do not think poorly of yourself when you lose your focus. These blockages are like larger "weights" which are more difficult to move through, but will also garner you more results if you keep sitting. Just keep sitting through them, and they will pass eventually.

Do you have a good 90 minute basketball skill workout ??
Perfect fundamentals before skills
During the meditation I sometimes feel like I want to stretch, should I be trying to maintain stillness while relaxing or is stretching to try to relax more fine?
It might have to do with your posture during meditation. If you feel like you need to hold tension to keep yourself up, you can further optimize your posture to best allow internal processing. I strongly recommend reading "The Posture of Meditation" by Will Johnson - Simon, Team DeepGame
Does mediating daily helps to get in the “zone” quicker/more efficient/better during games or clutch situations??
Yes, 1000%. Meditation is the key foundational practice for getting into the present (i.e. the zone) - Simon, Team DeepGame
Is it possible to be in a state of meditation while walking or doing something?
Yes, absolutely. Bringing a meditative state into your daily life is something that can actually really help you over your life.
Simon

can this be done while walking? there's a path from the school to our house where I can literally walk 30 mins straight without having to look out for vehicles and such so I'll be able to focus on something while being on the move
Walking meditation is certainly viable, but this practice in particular (and your foundational practice) is best done by sitting in the early stages.

Is this better sitting up or laying down? What posture? Does 7/11 breathing work?
Sitting is better to start with. I would recommend reading "The Posture of Meditation" by Will Johnson. Essentially, your posture may follow some guidelines, but it will never be extremely rigid or strict.
What is 7/11 breathing?
Simon

When I meditate sitting up straight my back hurts and I can’t concentrate properly, is there anything I can do to fix this?
I have same problem
my back hurts a little after some practices lol any tips to stop this?
If you're talking about the meditation practices, that's very normal for those just starting out, and usually takes a few days to a couple of weeks to dissolve. But it could also be caused by postural issues during meditation, in which case I recommend you read "The Posture Of Meditation" by Will Johnson - Simon, Team DeepGame
@@DeepGameBasketball thanks
will my confidence get better through meditation?
In most cases, not just by doing meditation, but doing meditation will definitely help, and will amplify everything else you do for confidence. I'd also suggest watching this video on our channel, if you're interested in acquiring inner confidence: ruclips.net/video/sWLYBA2LRb8/видео.html

When should I do visualisation as some ppl say it also helps?
Visualization can be helpful to an extent, but we recommend other practices such as meditation and contemplation more so. Visualization only touches the surface of what meditation and journaling can do. But if you're really wanting to try it out, just do it sometime when you can do it consistently every day - Simon, Team DeepGame
@@DeepGameBasketball then should I do visualisation or meditation before a game? Sine visualisation u are “seeing” or “imagining “ what u are going to do in game.
And also, I have started to journal after every skills workout to “remember “ what I have done. Do u prefer to journal / visualise / mediate after a workout?
@@youtubeuserrrr499 before a game really depends on what you need most during that time. It may differ from day to day whether you need to rest, to listen to music, to get some more shots up, to forget about it entirely, etc. You can try visualizing before games if that feels right to you. As for after workouts, your best bet would be to give yourself as much white space as possible. The brain processes things at an incredible speed after learning (such as during the workout), assuming we aren't interfering with it. So meditation would be the best option of those three after working out, but even just driving back home with no music or going for a walk would be great, too - Simon, Team DeepGame
@@DeepGameBasketball thanks! Love the replies u are giving to me on literally every question I asked! That’s some dedication
@@youtubeuserrrr499 Always happy to help =) -- Simon, Team DeepGame
Should you only do one meditation session a day, or is two also possible?
Also when I meditate and feel the vibration feeling, I think about how it's not normal, and it completely takes me out.
As a beginner, it would be best to start with 1-2 sessions per day of 20-45 minutes in length. You don't want to overexert yourself.
When you think that, just gently bring your awareness back to the vibrations, over and over again. It's that simple, really. No need to worry about thinking; just go back to feeling when you do =)
Simon
DeepGame
@@DeepGameBasketball Thank you, this will help me a lot.
when you pick something to focus on, can you pick music or is it too distracting?
Depends on the music
Yes you can because it’s noise. You can focus on noise but it depends on the music. If the lyrics by itself are crappy don’t do that music because What you put into your mind is going to impact your performance in a much bigger way. So while your mediating you can also listen to these types of talks.
I fainted
Do i need silence for that ?
For example in my house its always loud So how Can i meditate then.
Silence makes things easier/more ideal, but it's not absolutely required. Just do your best to make things as good as you can make them. You could also listen to binaural beats with headphones if it's really loud at home.

what abt Lofi music
Man in india everybody do that
how do you let go of tension
Some tension is conscious (think of clenching your teeth or fists), so you can just let that go consciously. Other tension might be deeper and less in your control. For that kind of tension, just place your awareness on it, and breathe smooth and open as you can, without forcing it. It also could be a postural thing, in which case, make sure your meditation posture is solid (read Will Johnson's book The Posture of Meditation) - Simon, Team DeepGame
@DeepGameBasketball im following the guide but im not really that consistent in meditation because of school, one time i felt like i was sinked in, relaxed calm reallyyy clarity, but now i dont know how anymore idk what im doing wrong but i think im doing nothing wrong, maybe im forcing it? @@victorlabar2104 Hey, it's just been a few days. Do not trust outward results over the span of days. Look longer term into weeks and even months. It's normal in the short term to have results that go up and down: for example, nobody is going to score more points than they did last game, every single game. But over time (months, years), their average definitely can go up. Look at it that way, and understand it's normal to have some dips in performance - Simon, Team DeepGame

I have the same question
Probably about half a hour. (30minutes)
This guided one is only 15 minutes I believe
This was only 15 minutes though? I guess 20 minutes afterwarda
Meditation just somehow makes me more mad
Most likely what is happening is that it is is bringing up anger from within you which was stuck there before - which is a good thing! It gives you the opportunity to finally process it and allow it to release itself, which ultimately helps you grow and improves your performance.
