Thanks for the review! I picked up the RM model 2 m65 jacket in their Japan store and put an alpha industries ALS/92 Liner in it. The ALS liner’s buttons all perfectly lined up except for two main ones on the right, so I had my local tailor resew them. I love this combo because RM’s jacket quality is really good, but AI’s als liner is more practical with pockets, etc.
I was looking for an M65-Jacket for a while. But your comparison/competition videos finally pushed me to pull the trigger on the Iron Heart Model. And I‘m so happy with the fit and the style - love it. Thx for your information and the possibility to see the different brands on a person! 👍🏻😊
My old M65 was lost or stolen a couple years ago. Army issued from the 80's. I got it lightly used at an Army/Navy store in Dallas. Wore it for 20 years. Gone. I was thinking of an aftermarket re-make version. I'm not gonna do it. And if a 1911A1 won't fit in the front lower pockets with ease, it's not a real M65. It's hard to believe it's a fashionable thing now, it was just a great jacket that obviously looked Army, maybe Rambo made it cool. I'd be disappointed after owning a real one. Loved that old thing.
Your channel have opened my eyes when it comes to mens style I've always been into raw denim but now I started pairing them with biker jacket and love japanese jackets to nice jacket in this video
It's hard to pull the trigger in the RM without trying it on and since I can try on the IH I think I'll end up with that one. Both are beautiful and I really like the apple green color of the RM however the 1st version RM M65 is now more of an Olive color.
Привет.Очень крутой контент делаешь!Я тоже в этом году планирую брать m65 McCoy.Не подскажешь,у них как с размерами на м65,так же маломерят как Базовские или надо размер в размер брать?
I don't think I'll be buying an M-65 as there would be murders from the wife, but this content is awesome. Couldn't you whack your mechanics cap under your epaulettes like a proper army mechanic?
Great video, and analysis. I have two M-65 manufactured by Alpha Industries, made in Knoxville Tennessee. One of them I have for 29 years and I have used it in the most adverse conditions; it is only cleared the tone of the green, just a little. the another I just put a dozen of times. the zippers are brass and I believe they were made in the 90'. There is No better jacket in the whole world. Today Alpha manufactures crap in China; what a shame...
The Iron Heart for me. The color is great and I like the modern interpretation of the original. And for some reason the IH looks more sturdier than the RM.
Great review. I bought the IH. I think I ordered the right size. Went xxxl. I wear a xxl in the N1. Having a hard time finding the M65 in xxL. The specs on both size might work for me. Thanks for making your vids. They cheer us all up.
I love the McCoys but I don't care about repro details, and I'd rather have the beefier construction and a zipper that is updated to modern standards. Copped the IH but I do wish it had no epaulets.
The functional epitome to me are the original issued OG107 color 50/50 nyco, Quarpel treated ones with brass/alum General (Scoville) zippers. Real Mccoy hits in on the head by matching every functional reinforcing stitch and pattern, but misses on the fabric and coating, IMO- the hand is too light and soft for rugged use. The M65 Coat is part of the Army cold weather clothing system consisting of many pieces, gloves, liners, etc. It is oversized for mobility and layering to work down to freezing. Kudos to real mccoys, i have the tadpole tiger version, and prefer it for fall, but nothing beats the surplus original which can be easily found.
No matter the fact that the real mc coys was the winner, I opted for ironheart. Somehow it's more consistent, a few accessories that made it more modern without taking its originality plus I like the color a lot more by ironheart Thank you for review
My ideal M65 would be a modern re-think. I'd like a removable, sleeveless fleece liner. The jacket should be breathable with a mesh liner rather than the cotton one. Perhaps it could be made from Goretex. The hood should be removable, perhaps zip-in and it should have zipped pockets inside too. My Brandit looks great but it causes overheating when it's just 9C in the UK.
It's a strange one but the IH is better fitting on you and just seems more "polished" however it looks too modern. If i'm comparing pictures of you in both jackets, no doubt the one of you in the RMC looks like a M-65 straight away even though it's not as "fitted" it still looks better on you.
Love these both. But the real McCoy’s wins in my book. But honestly I’d rather spend less than 100 on an actual vintage one. Can’t be the read deal lol.
here i was thinking my helikon-tex 120$ m65 was decent replica:)) i like mine though i aknowledge the texture on these must be quality for 600. The relaxed fit beats the slim fit every time (slim fit is for guys who wax their legs)

Both the Iron heart, and Real Mc Coys are great looking jackets. But for me, the classic always wins. Meaning the Real Mc Coys.
Hi , where i can find one like this from internet, outside USA

Glad I could help! This was exactly what I was hoping to hear. 🙏

Whats your take on the cockpit usa m-65?
I did own a cockpit jacket, but I sold it. I did like it though. 👊 👊
love the energy
Awesome video. What size is the Real MCoys jacket that you're wearing?
Great video again ! Can you tell me what is the tag size of you iron heart m65?!
This is size small. 👊
Can´t find my size for the iron heart here in europe :(
Have you tried Iron Heart UK?
@@Fjorde yeah, its the size. Cant find my size anywhere.

I have the alpha industries one its great 150 quid here in the uk.
Got the Iron Heart. On the hunt for The Real Mccoy version 1.
As always great content and work.
Thanks! 🙏
Got a old N2B jacket from my uncle. Rated for -35°f. Not the best fit for me a little short but the cool factor is there.

I have two M65 jackets. Both are standard US Army issue. One was my uncles OD green jacket, and the other is the Woodland BDU jacket.
I love the McCoys but I don't care about repro details, and I'd rather have the beefier construction and a zipper that is updated to modern standards. Copped the IH but I do wish it had no epaulets.
Yes, that's a deal breaker - it's much better without epaulets and are not necessary
I love Real McCoy label but Iron Heart made the better M65 jacket.
I’ve got a original m65 1950s jkt and love it’s got great patina & gets loads of compliments 😊

Mc Coys don’t make larger sizes ( I mean at least 52 chest)

the McCoys fits you better while the Iron Heart looks a bit small. both are great but I’d take the former for sure
