Today we're summarizing all that we've been discussing over the past few weeks and putting forward what we believe is the best M65 Jacket.

I've had my M65 for almost 3 decades and ive never found anything better. It really is something you buy for a lifetime.
Just make sure you dont get the fancy watered down crap from companies that try to make it a fashion item.
This guy wonderfully embraces every stereotype of a European we hold. I love it!

Nice but why not army surplus M65
I bought for £18 this week a NOS SuperDry M65 and aside from it being a bit on the small side for fitment, its actually pretty damned good for what it is. Best combat jacket imho is the British Army 68 issue smock, super thick material, lined and has more pockets than anything else I know of and even has a "sack warmer" flap that you button up under the crutch to give your jewels some warmth and protection from hostile environments. My main "go to" though is a genny MA1 Alpha Industries black flight jacket, had my current one 20 years and the one before that is my riding jacket covered in patches and bought that in the 90's, you won't go wrong with a MA1.
Got an military issue 1987 from So-Sew Styles with YKK zippers it's like new 165 USD with shipping and customs
Thanks for the review. The buzz rickson actually fits you better in my eyes. A few corrections though, both those jackets are made from Nyco (50/50 cotton nylon blend) not 100 % cotton. Buzz rickson recreated the same specs as the original military issued M65 in materials, but they modernized the fit. Real Mccoys uses "better" materials than the original m65 and also changed the cut for a more contemporary fit. The original M65 was cut generously as they were designed to be an outer shell. The reason the Real mccoys is touted as the "best" is because they have amazing workmanship and quality materials, but they aren't the most historically accurate in terms of fit.

The only real OG M65 Jackets are US Army issued, with the liner. Combat proven....this stuff you pay out the arse for rip offs. I have an OG M65 with the liner, standard issue. Manufactured by John Ownbey Company, INC.

Looks like The Real McCoys discontinued the Apple Green colorway. All i see is Olive. I own the Iron Heart M65 though i still want to find TRM in this green. Its stunning. Thanks for the great videos. Love the enthusiasm!!

@@motorrebell That's absolutely right, but unfortunately Helikon-Tex jackets are not available in long sizes.
Yikes, i think I'll stick with my alpha industries heritage M65.
I live in the UK and have just bought a Brandit M65. I got a small and it's a perfect fit for me. I'm tall and slim - 6" and 10.5 stone. The liner will rarely be used as it just doesn't get cold enough over here. What would I change ? I'd prefer a fleece / sherpa lining without sleeves. An inside zipped pocket would be nice and I might well remove the hood as it just makes the collar feel too bulky. Overall though, I'd say it's a good, well made jacket and one to consider.

I tracked down the Real mcCoys second model, the new one from 2023. Either 825 or 860 euros in Europe, only two stores sell it. I'm hesitating; it's a shame the liner isn't included and will cost an extra 350 euros.

love this channel! just realized you are the same guy without the beard that i used to watch selvedge denim videos on! Maybe a silly question, but what do you do with the hood? do you let it hang down the back, or roll it up tight? Your collar (Real Mccoys) drapes much nicer as if there isnt a hood in there. Anyways, keep up the awesome content.

I was lucky enough to find a mil spec m65 jacket from a thrift store complete with combat and unit patches unfortunately no liner all for $10.95. M65 jackets make any outfit look badazz.

Real McCoy’s green m65 is $751 on their website now. I was in Japan a couple weeks ago and got it in their Japan store for about $600. 😅 still expensive but quality is much better than my black alpha industries one.

😂 For this sum of money you can buy 7 or more real, genuine military issue M65 or M51 field jacket ....not a "fancy" copy. 😂😂😂😂
@@cc50378nIf you wanna real Alpha try to find those under army contract ( DSA or DLA) and you got genuine military m65 . All those "woaah.. what a quality!!" you got with ordinary but military M65, not those comercial repros.

What's the reference number on your Buzz Rickson's M-65? I have one but the zipper is absolutely fine (it's aluminum). I have the so-called "2nd model"… Looks just like yours. The weird thing with this particular one is that the sizing is US whereas their "3rd model" is definitely JP. That's why you had to make it shrink. Just my 2 cents. Anyway nice videos.

Unfortunately, it's sold out on the The Real McCoy's site however you may be able to find it at another retailer or used on Ebay. A quick google search will bring up the one closest to you. 👊👊

Where do you get all these expensive jeans and jackets? Do you own a mens shop, are you filthy rich? Do you just spend all your money on ridiculously expensive clothes? Genuinely curious.. show me the way.
Saying the Best M65 jacket is like saying the Best Yugo car. The M65 was a sloppy lookin version of a classic design. The rounded collar, the hood in the back, the Velcro closures...the thing was a mess. Such a sad way to see the field jacket end this way.
Whatever, the M-65 is not for you. Move it along. The genuine one i had back in the eighties was a great jacket.
