hi there, I was tested and my cortisol showed 19.7, this was midday....no one reached out to me to talk about it, so I am asking you. Unfortunately I have many complex issues, including but not limited to osteonecrosis bilaterally hips/pelvis down. Even my long bones, which it is usually not involving long bones themselves, but rather the ends; I have both, so involves legs and knees as well...
.I also have fibro, epilepsy (though I have not had a seizure in years), I have dercums disease, degenerative disc, etc. I am tired all the time, in fact I wake up feeling like it is time to go to bed again. I do not know if I would have weight problems as I, after a exuberant pyloroplasty, have rapid and late onset gastric emptying. I never have an apatite and weigh less than a buck 25. I am losing my hair, I mean it comes right out with a tug. My face gets patches of dryness.
..I do not sleep well either. Dr. Beth, I am 53, been on permanent ssi/ssd since early 2000's. I have had over 12 surgeries, cannot even count how many injections, ablations etc. I am tired of trying to live on 823 a month so I am taking a course for ui/ux design, but I am soooo tired, my brain gets confused easy, I have migraines 5-6 days a week.
...I need and am trying to better my life, but I am having such a hard time getting through the day! I am also a vocalist, and all this is interfering. I am sorry this is so long. I guess my question is, 19.7 shows past the normal range going to 19.4, is this bad? Like I said this was not done in the morning nor did they ask me to fast.
Oh also, something seems to be wrong with my hypothalamus in that slight temperature changes, or if I am cold and try to cover up, I get this very strong, not painful, spread of tightness and tingling across my scalp on the right side (incidentally the right side is where all my seizures were coming from) and then instantly every pore in my body opens and i am drenched. Could that be from high cortisol?
Again, so sorry it is long and possibly confusing...lol....please help with any insight and/or advice
    Peace

This is really something I would have to make recommendations on after doing a thorough consultation and looking through your lab work & health history. If you’re interested in that, send me an email: beth@drbethwestie.com

Can you please talk more about acne. I’ve been struggling since I was 12 and I’m 25 now and my skin is badly scarred and still breaking out around the chin and mouth. 😭I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. It’s literally ruining my life .

I have low cortisol and am going to get more testing done, is that the reason my I can't be able to think Cleary and have brain fog and adhd like symptoms? I also can't pay attention.

It can be linked to both cortisol and sex hormones.

If I felt great when on prednisone. Would that mean I'm low on corisol?

It can mean that, yes. But I always recommend seeing what your cortisol and other hormone metabolites are doing by testing with the DUTCH, that way you see the entire picture of what is going on in your system.
