Hello, I have the same machine. Already fixed the idler and cassette loading motor (stuck). Now works fine except the counter and tape remain doesn't work. Any idea?
More than likely it'll be one of the optical units under the spools that's not working for some reason - maybe a missing voltage, wire off somewhere or not plugged in. I will check my other one of these that I have to see which one drives the counter as one sends data for the counter and tape remain and the other is just for the tape remain.

I'll send you a membrane as and when... Toshiba's are similar when playing troublesome cassettes - can be very useful!
