Yea. I also like how there was alot of science involved such as why a single human cant pilot a jaeger alone, and how you have to drift with another person, etc
The sequel had potential at first cuz of the new Jaeger and Kaiju designs but the story, writing, and the characters were off... I don't mind it though but if they plan on making another sequel for Pacific Rim again, I do hope Del Toro comes back as director and producer and also quite possibly ignore the events of the second film... Basically a remake or reboot of the second film but with a better story.

They should make a pacific rim prequel focusing on the events occurred before the original pacific rim film. Man, that would be a dream come true for me.
Ikr, I wish them luck in trying to engineer something that could withstand that amount of force. Also, while something like Project Thor would be expensive as hell, it'd likely be cheaper (and more effective) than building those giant mechs. Pretty epic to watch the impact as well...

Dr.cheeze guy The only reason they didn't leave I guess is because they knew that they could adapt to that Jaeger. Like leatherback and his EMP waves, specifically made to disable the Jaegers they were using at the time.

What I’ve found is that in the new trailer for “Pacific Rim: Uprising” there seemed to be jaegers fighting each other. This could either mean A) there might’ve been a political dispute between nations and now the jaegers are being used for war and the Kaiju show up through possibly another breach from another cloning facility, making it a lot harder to fight them with nations possibly being at war with each other or B) the precursors realized that kaiju couldn’t alone defeat the human race so they either reverse engineered their own jaegers using what they found in newton’s brain or they developed some kinda bio weapon that takes over tech and while the possessed jaegers are fighting the human controlled ones, the kaiju come and take out the populace while the humans are occupied. I was also disappointed that the mark (2 I think) russian one was shut down by the emp despite being powered by diesel and being an older model than gypsy danger. They said something about being analogue but I don't see how the older model wouldn't be.
If I remember correctly, the Russian Jaeger was pulled underwater and had it's power core crushed by the Kaiju. It was the Australian Jaeger that the emp shut down.
when they said Gypsy was fine because she's analog, I giggled. A gigantic analog robot, piloted by 2?! The writers were clearly baked before writing that scene. The whole 'Drift' thing is based on neuro-electrical interface - brain mates with machine. An EMP would fuck up that system, requiring at least a reboot. That being said, EMP proofing is standard on most high risk electronics. The fact that the several tonne combat robots, tall enough to be hit by lightning, were not EMP proofed was really dumb.
What they meant by analog, was that the system used to control the bot wasn't electronic. The one Gypsy danger used im pretty sure was a hydraulic design. Thats why their systems didnt get completely knocked out

Yes yes, I realize the movie is about robots punching monsters, but if you put that aside for amoment and look at the forces involved, a sword strike from Gipsy is no greater than a depleted uranium shell from a main battle tank, in terms of force...
Then if the military shot the Kaiju at sea with tanks then we will die, since Kaiju have toxic blood which can completely poison our water supplies. Jaegers can move pass this issue since they can do the next best thing, blunt force trauma. Gipsy Danger only uses her sword in extreme situations to prevent this issue from happening.
Godzilla would destroy the other kaiju just because they're toxic and kill all organisms in the area. He also would make sure they don't destroy the area he killed them in by melting the kaiju with his atomic breath.

Well.. yes and no.. because the Godzilla universe and the Pacific rim universe are both created by legendary pictures and Warner brothers owns the IP rights to each so in theory if they wanted to merge the two universes they definitely could do.
"Robots didn't work so let's instead build a giant wall and hope* As if that's gonna work, I give the wall at least a few years before the Kaijus break through
Only thing I don’t like about this movie is the way they describe dinosaurs. Everyone knows that they didn’t have a second brain and they definitely not aliens.
Nathaniel Bergeron actually some dinosaurs that were extremely large are believed to have had “second” brains near the second half of their bodies in order to establish steady blood flow to limbs and other things.
One Jaeger costs around 100 Billion $, as stated in the novel/comic. The US ALONE has a yearly tax/whatever income of around 5 TRILLION dollars. That means that if the US switched into full gear on producing Jaegers, they could build ~50 Jaegers a year. Now take into account that probably at LEAST 10 other countries would step in to help fund Jaegers if this scenario ever actually happened, and we'd be able to make 100's of Jaegers a year potentially.
Hey Nicolas2465, that was the cost for Mark 4 Striker Eureka. Which in theory could let us make Mark 7 Jaegers if we can develop the technology, but we also need to consider city rebuilding (in case the kaiju got to land), daily maintenance of both the Jaegers and the Shatterdomes they reside in, and the stocking of all the worldwide Shatterdomes’s food which could cost thousands since they have tons of staff
I like Pacific Rim, personally i felt it was a good movie with a nice build up where humanity had to band together to survive against the kaiju when they began to attack and now we are getting a Pacific Rim 2 movie coming soon. I honestly am curious how they are going to pull it off. I have seen the trailer for the second movie so I am definitely going to watch how it unfolds.
well too bad it is true. Domestic BO was only 100 mil. Foreign around 310 mil. Americans did not see this movie. It flopped there. That's why del toro didn't get the permission to do a second one. It succeeded greatly in china, who are now financing a larg portion of it. So how about you just your cake hole? Also D they could come from australia, or E from asia! Le gasp. What is it with that stupid enumeration?
TheHmongol That's a stupid observation. The US had the second highest box office for this movie out of every country (and China only made about $10 million more than the US, which isn't a big gap at all).

Well.. yes and no.. because the Godzilla universe and the Pacific rim universe are both created by legendary pictures and Warner brothers owns the IP rights to each so in theory if they wanted to merge the two universes they definitely could do.
Godzilla and King Kong are in the same universe
Robsy john didn't they say there will be a cross over? But I believe it's long ways away
kaiju (meaning: gaint monster) in the picture it says ¨kaiju size comparison, so in general, kaiju monste not only the PR ones
I love the how you used the sound track from pacific rim for your video
The second pacific rim feels more like power rangers
Donut Chan the first was far better imo
man robots vs monsters, i love the pacific rim series
When two pregnant women start fighting
the babies:
"Robots didn't work so let's instead build a giant wall and hope* As if that's gonna work, I give the wall at least a few years before the Kaijus break through
I swear you had 8k just a week ago...
and only 3 K a week before that!
The background music made this vid more immersive 😂😭
Of course it happened in 2020, what's new
Gotta love the PR theme song. It's so badass
"gwillarmo del toro"
"corPs" "fearric"
Nice :) make part 2 for the Pacific Rim 2 mate :)
gilermo? Try gi-YER-mo
Simple yet elegant film.
Only thing I don’t like about this movie is the way they describe dinosaurs. Everyone knows that they didn’t have a second brain and they definitely not aliens.
Nathaniel Bergeron actually some dinosaurs that were extremely large are believed to have had “second” brains near the second half of their bodies in order to establish steady blood flow to limbs and other things.
didnt the stegosaurus have two brains or something like that
hog doctor it was thought to have one due to the walnut size brain cavity that found, but it is proven it didn’t have 2 brains
It’s shame we didn’t learn more about the precursors in the second film.
We did, but not a lot.
"Whos knows what they will throw at us next" A compleatly shite movie thats what.
Love the music theme of this movie, and the movie itself
Humanity's economy would collapse after one of these monsters two or three and it would be the walking dead or mad max or any other type of apocalypse
samoa ji no they wouldn’t :/
megazion34 um yes they would :/
I Comment Dumb Shit But You Didn't Know That No they wouldn't dumbfuck
I have seen the trailer for the second movie so I am definitely going to watch how it unfolds.
we have china to thank for a sequel! American audience are narrow minded and only watches movies with the Disney logo slapped on.
well too bad it is true.
Vaasha "China is financing a large portion of it"
Is that why it looks like garbage? :(
Fake Name Cause its more of what the Chinese want? Yes, yes it is.
i didnt care for it. just do to piss poor acting other then the acting it was a good movie
TheHmongol
That's a stupid observation. The US had the second highest box office for this movie out of every country (and China only made about $10 million more than the US, which isn't a big gap at all).
First video you made I liked
Cant wait for the sequel :D
Great vid too 👍
The concepts of these kaiju is rather unique. I would also like to see a fight between the Starship Troopers bug colony versus these Pacific Rim kaiju
