    - Excellent job opportunities
    - Best Public Universities- Rutgers and NJIT
    - well connected by Amtrak trains from Boston through to Washington DC
    - NJ Transit connects New York City with various places in NJ. As you mentioned folks work in Fortune 500 companies of NYC but live in NJ . I will say public transportation is much better than most of the other states
    - NJ is the Pharma capital of the country
    - Great options for Medical treatment with most of the doctors of Indian origin
    - Well connected and influential Indian Associations
    - Mayors of cities like Edison are of Indian origin
    - Many school districts also have holidays for Indian festivals like Diwali
    - A lot of opportunities to pursue Indian Traditions like Music, Dance , Indian languages
    - Multiple options to fly internationally - Newark/ JFK/ Philadelphia or even take a train to Washington DC or Boston and fly from there
    - Indian communities are closely knit ( may be because of the dense population ) unlike many other states
    - Most of the IT services companies US HQ are in NJ
    - next to Silicon Valley, great Start ups with easy access to the Financial capital NYC and also the Tech expertise. Best place for Entrepreneurs
    - A real diverse state
    - No racial issues even in small form
    Cons:
    - High taxes
    - some downtown places in a few cities require caution while moving
    - winters are bad but best place for Spring, Summer and Fall ( nature at its best in this Garden State )
    - Tolls mainly in NJ Turnpike and GSP . You can travel toll free in other highways.

We live in NJ for past 14 years. I should say excellent place to live. Life is so thrilling.
School system is good, lots of jobs opportunity, I love four seasons of weather. ( I like cold compared to hot😀).because my home town is Trivandrum which is not hot place so I used to that weather 😀.Also traveling to India and other countries much easier .
You feel like you’re are not alone, and you get all things same like India.
As everyone says tax is higher and traffic is worst .
But I think if we get everything best means we have to pay prices.
I like Newyork , one of my favorite places during my childhood.
We work in New York and stay in NewJersey.
From my perspective I have No negative feelings about NJ.

@@ArthiPrem There's different localities in New Jersey especially North Jersey that is considered highly unsafe. Example, Newark NJ is one of the violent cities in the United States. Whereas, the Central Jersey is filled with Indian communities with schools and therefore you have to commute to the work, e.g. City for more than an hour one way. It pays to be on both side. If you really want to experience the American lifestyle, you got to live near the shores where there is less Indian population and less crime. Again, it's always compensating for a busy lifestyle with good schools vs a suburban lifestyle with average schools.

Cold weather is a problem for 4 months ..I live in south Jersey and I like it better than north in terms of affordability and traffic
It’s lush green in south and the 4 seasons are just beautiful out here.. whether it’s worth to pay so much tax and live here depends on how much we use the opportunities in nj ..best hospitals in this area..what I still do not understand is how can retired people afford 1000 dollars ( that’s the minimum tax for a decent home in jersey) on home taxes..I recommend south Jersey Philly area compared to north..Indians Ku Texas, Atlanta is best.for 2k rent.. you will get a v average home for rent.the more north we go. It gets worse… mini India yes. Lot of temples and cultural activity in north side but restaurants aren’t good. Nothing v impressive.. lot of Indian grocery stores. That’s a plus for sure.. Living in NJ for 14 years - good in terms of JOBS - especially if you are in CONSULTING & H1 - lot of jobs and accessibility to TRISTATE and in that way if you work in H1 if one job/ project is getting over - quickly u can find another without relocating. 3 Major centers for Indias - jersey city , Parsippany and Edison - schools are good -health care is good. All specialists you can find here. Cons - cost of living is increasing from where it was 5 years back. Bad roads - only high ways are good - local roads needs attention- when Christy was governor it was better. Traffic is pathetic . Property tax
Income tax sales tax all on the higher side - ur paycheck will see the income tax deductions make u really angry. Toll prices keep rising . Very cold - over the past 7 years Polar vertex related arctic chills are more . One of worst airport in entire USA or even world - not a single flight take off or land with out delay - ppl drive to JFK for India flights - worst state which harassed h1s in 2009 and deported them from airport . Cognizant said no travel from ewr during those draconian times. It will be always remembered by every one who was on h1 those days - property tax is 2 times higher than national average . Homes are very old and very old . 80 years 70 years built and prices are high. Finally we decided to move out of NJ as we got our gc year back.
If u plan to come here from other state and buy a home think multiple times. If ur on consulting and h1 then u can stay here .
Finally we are going to move out .

    • @rajsun3379
      @rajsun3379 Год назад

Adding to above - property tax is crazy - if you come here to buy a single family home newly built you won’t find any in good spots u gotta move away a far distance like Monmouth county And price starts at 1.5 million . Old homes are really old and for the price asked for old homes totally not worth it as u pay a lot for upgrades repairs etc . Edison is good spot for Indian needs - you can get everything from pooja things to tiniest things what you get in india . Saravana bhavan and A2b both are in Nj . Tons of other north restaurants as well. U get tamil Telugu and all desi movies . Come and stay here for 6 months in apartment and feel
The place and then decide if u want to move. Ppl here not just Indians even Americans mostly will be inclined to move out due to tax .

@@ArthiPrem happy to help - also every year NJ ranks as the NO: 1 outbound state meaning people move out . For past 7 years consistently ranked No:1 - that should tell how much ppl want to move out

Best state to live - Colorado - my 1st state in USA & till now you can’t beat - affordabllity safety health care property tax - everything is reasonable - recent times lot of real estate price increase still not bad . Not much Indian restaurants like Dallas Nj VA or CA -still you have a good mix . Jobs in past 10 years increased due to multiple companies having shops there - weather is good 300 days of sunshine - even after crazy snow day u get bright sunlight next day - if u live there don’t look else where - u r in most coolest & gorgeous state
