I’m living in Nj for 16 years now , great state for everything- jobs , places to see, Indian food, temples etc only cons are the cold weather and housing tax
- Excellent job opportunities - Best Public Universities- Rutgers and NJIT - well connected by Amtrak trains from Boston through to Washington DC - NJ Transit connects New York City with various places in NJ. As you mentioned folks work in Fortune 500 companies of NYC but live in NJ . I will say public transportation is much better than most of the other states - NJ is the Pharma capital of the country - Great options for Medical treatment with most of the doctors of Indian origin - Well connected and influential Indian Associations - Mayors of cities like Edison are of Indian origin - Many school districts also have holidays for Indian festivals like Diwali - A lot of opportunities to pursue Indian Traditions like Music, Dance , Indian languages - Multiple options to fly internationally - Newark/ JFK/ Philadelphia or even take a train to Washington DC or Boston and fly from there - Indian communities are closely knit ( may be because of the dense population ) unlike many other states - Most of the IT services companies US HQ are in NJ - next to Silicon Valley, great Start ups with easy access to the Financial capital NYC and also the Tech expertise. Best place for Entrepreneurs - A real diverse state - No racial issues even in small form Cons: - High taxes - some downtown places in a few cities require caution while moving - winters are bad but best place for Spring, Summer and Fall ( nature at its best in this Garden State ) - Tolls mainly in NJ Turnpike and GSP . You can travel toll free in other highways.
We live in NJ for past 14 years. I should say excellent place to live. Life is so thrilling. School system is good, lots of jobs opportunity, I love four seasons of weather. ( I like cold compared to hot😀).because my home town is Trivandrum which is not hot place so I used to that weather 😀.Also traveling to India and other countries much easier . You feel like you’re are not alone, and you get all things same like India. As everyone says tax is higher and traffic is worst . But I think if we get everything best means we have to pay prices. I like Newyork , one of my favorite places during my childhood. We work in New York and stay in NewJersey. From my perspective I have No negative feelings about NJ.
Dear Brother...You are putting so much hard work. Please also convert all of your content into a blog on a website...That will also drive some income opportunities! All the best!
Add affordability of housing in your index. I am staying in NJ for more than 9 years. For decent 3 bed townhouse in average school district cost ~490k min and buying individual house is another nightmare. Planning to move Texas where I can get a big lot with individual house for same cost.
@@ArthiPrem NJ is becoming over crowded and travel isn’t easy when compared to many mid-west states. (Note -I haven’t lived in any other state but have visited many in mid-west). Cost of living is also high; home prices have skyrocketed, especially during pandemic with ppl from NY moving to NJ. Property taxes are high but school system is good in many townships / cities. I live in Montgomery (close to Princeton), both housing and taxes are super high but school system is excellent!
What’s the point of being in the US and moving to a area with full of Indians ? …. There won’t be diversity ……. I would prefer to live in area with highly mixed and inclusive crowd of all ethnicity ….. that’s good for growth by all means ! Just a personal opinion …..
@@ArthiPrem There's different localities in New Jersey especially North Jersey that is considered highly unsafe. Example, Newark NJ is one of the violent cities in the United States. Whereas, the Central Jersey is filled with Indian communities with schools and therefore you have to commute to the work, e.g. City for more than an hour one way. It pays to be on both side. If you really want to experience the American lifestyle, you got to live near the shores where there is less Indian population and less crime. Again, it's always compensating for a busy lifestyle with good schools vs a suburban lifestyle with average schools.
