Three Questions I've always been curious about that brand of radio and being it's handheld does it get out very far? And can you adjust SWR? Is that why you are sending it back?
Hi Robert, Before I purchased a radio to use as my base station for 2 meters, I was using a Baofeng UV-5R hooked up to and outside antenna. It got the job done and I never heard any reports of poor audio. I also use a UV-5R for use on my work's business frequency and it works great. I just went outside with my K5PLUS and was able to hit a repeater 25.8 miles away with the stock antenna with no problem. I just ordered another K5Plus to perform a range test using simplex and to try out some of the features. I'll post a new video with the results. I haven't seen the results of a K5PLUS on a spectrum analyzer to see how clean it transmits. The SWR of the handheld antennas are pretty much set. It is possible to trim some of the antennas if they are too long, but I've never tried it. 73s and thanks for watching!
