Have you ever tested the Smiley 5/8 465 for GMRS? I use this one on my KG905G and get good results. Thanks!

I have the newer btech pro gmrs radio and I got the Nagoya 771g for it but it does not screw all the way down into the antenna hole. Is that a problem? I imagine it could compromise the waterproof radio but they give you that little rubber disk that it says to use to seal the radio if this is the case but it goes up in the antenna and does not fill that gap? Any ideas? Thanks in advance

I have a Baofeng UV-9G HT radio which is a dual band radio. I bought a Nagoya 771G antenna which is for GMRS frequencies only. You mentioned that the Nagoya 771 is a dual band antenna. Should I have bought the 771?

You're fine. The dual band 771 will work but where you transmit is the main thing of interest. The 771G is designed for GMRS which is what you're using it for. The UV 9G receives in both bands but only transmits on the GMRS channels at 462 to 467MHz. Enjoy your new radio and thanks for watching.

Do you think an Abbree would work on the Radioddity GS-5b?

Unfortunately, no. I tried a couple on my GS-5B and the base of the antenna is to large to fit the antenna fitting. The raised portion of the radio case between the volume button and antenna is to large to allow the antenna base to fully seat.

    So the Abbree rocks!

@@GadgetTalk4U Nice. I got my innards 2 days ago. Got to get the PVC pipe and mount set it up. You have any info or advice?

I'm still laughing about the Tirado programmer that won't work on at least a half dozen different devices like Samsung Tablets and I phones.

HT antenna selection goes by the Principle of Least Suck.
