it's interesting to see how you mix languages in your journal. i took some inspo from your spreads in making my journal for the year, all of these are very aesthetic but also practical!
I was searching for reading journal set ups and came across this one and I loved your idea of flipping your journal upside down to use the "end" as the beginning of a second book. Genius idea!! I immediately incorporated into one of my notebooks. The front of my notebook is my Physical TBR and the flip side is my wish list/ buy this when I read this and/or that. Under this and/or that I list a book on my physical tbr.
Gotta say, I walked in on this video a little sceptical, as I tend to be when youtubers show their beautiful, extra, filled-with-inspiring-quotes and impractical journals, BUT I was positively surprised! Your drawings and layouts are beautiful, yet your journal still feels really useful, I really like how you made bullet point notes on the books you read AND made it aesthetically pleasing and sort of minimalist at the same time. You made it look easy, and like I could do this too. I’m pleased! Thanks for sharing!
Since you struggle with how many pages you need to leave blank, I used to have the same problem. To solve this, I started using Atoma A5 notebooks. That way you can simply insert a blank page wherever you want. Or when you start a new notebook, take out the page(s) of the previous notebook you want to keep using (spreads,...) and insert them in your new notebook, so you do not have to copy them. I use these notebooks for 2 years now, and I think they're really practical.
I'm so horrible at being consistent with my journal. All I do is write down thoughts and reactions, but most of the time I get so immersed with the book that I forget I even have a journal for my reading haha
I came here for book journal inspo, but that spread of drawing what you buy in a year just: 🤯 What a great idea! Im soo gonna do that, thanks for sharing!!
Happy new year! The setup is so dreamy, with the sunlight peeking through and everything. Watchibg these types of asmr vids in the morning is such a great way to start the day! Thank you!
What's great about this channel is that it combines book talk and journaling - two wonderful things! I want to buy some bookmarks from you. Do you have any idea when you might reopen your etsy shop?
I found this comforting first thing in the morning ( with a cup of tea in bed, the Sunday stereotype) when my mind would usually race. So, thank you Leonie. You have an artistic inkling even if you read more! I'm debating starting a separate journal for my book thoughts. I do use Goodreads but can find it gets easily damming, yet simultaneously want to express when a book falls short, or on the contrary, touched on something inside? I'm too prissy to annotate too so could do with a proper place to document reading aside from an old receipt. x
If you want to use it for planning I'd recommend "How to Bullet Journal" on RUclips by the creator of the concept. The basic setup is very easy and you can make it as simple or artsy as you want down the line. I need 5min to set up my "monthly log" and it works great :)
Thanks. Exactly the video I'd been looking for. First time I'm doing a reading journal this year and I needed ideas on what works and what doesn't. Great video!

i’ve just been binging your videos because they’re so chill and relaxing and now you’re definitely in my top 2 favorite book tubers (i only watch you and jesse) and your in my top 5 favorite youtubers overall!!
Thank you for linking where you get your stickers! I just ordered some :) Also I love your drawings I would love to see the process of you drawing them in a future video
question: do you ever read multiple books at the same time? Do you try to estimate how much space you'll need for the first book and then start jotting down your thoughts for the second one on the next page or further? or do you wait until the read is over before documenting your thoughts?
Such a beautiful journal! I noticed that for your book notes, some bullet points were in English and some were in Dutch! Is there some kind of system there? :) Do you just use whichever language captures your thoughts better?
Hang on, I am super interested in your buying log! Is that everything you bought alllll year (except food and toilet paper obvs) ? If yes, how do you manage that ? Would be lovely if you were willing to go into it in a video or a vlog, I am always looking for inspo on saving money/ being a more mindful consumer xx
Hi Leonie nice robot dream drawing, I don't think I ever dreamt of robots yet that I remember of. I hope to buy your dream drawings if that's ok if you decide to sell them sometime.
