OMG!! This is the first time I’ve seen a reading journal and this is such an amazing idea!! I love to read and even have a little library in my house where I have 100s of books (a lot that I still need to read, I get excited and buy lots of books even though I still have lots to read haha). This is definitely an awesome journal idea that I would like to do for 2021. I’m so excited! 😍

I’m getting a lot of questions about how I print the book covers. It’s not some magic trick, you guys!😅 I just google the book, save an image of the cover, put them into Microsoft Word or Pages (I use both🤷🏼‍♀️), set the width to 2cm so they’re all the same width, and then I print them out on my old Office Jet which is not fancy at all, just an old printer I found at my parents’ house three years ago.

for marking them as read you could create an outline around the ones you read. make it look like a framed poster. nothing too fancy since there isnt space. but if you have a pen with gold ink or something it'll stand out. or you could just draw corner guards on two right side corners to make it look like those fancy hard cover books. i personally wouldnt like to mark over the covers and i think either of these two ways will help draw you eye to the ones you completed at a glance :)

    Hiiii,
Here are your most trusted reading recommendations for 2021 (the page is still too empty) (also, hi, I am San)
    - Call me by your name (do not question it. just read it. Just do.)
    - In an Instant
    - The song of Achilles
    - Vicious
    - if you still do not have Mistborn on your list, put it down now
    - murderbot series
My "try to read non english authors thing" failed
However you can check out Susanna Tamaro my all time favourite italian author and Banana Yoshimoto. But I read them ten years ago, I am not sure how relevant they are still today, because I have not yet managed a reread. But eeeey, 90's are a thing. So go more retro

Using a separate journal for books is such a good idea (yours is beautiful too!) - I might steal it!

Just thought of making a reading journal because I have been reading a lot this quarantine and I want to optimize and organize my activity. So happy to bump into your video! Thank you for the fresh ideas and artistic inspiration. ✨ How I wish I could make a journal as beautiful as yours. ❤️

Those are beautiful journals. I just got into this journal loophole and I'm learning that's there are a lot of other things to journal about than your day to day life.

Your aesthetic is so warm! I love it. I may be late to the suggestions for the book covers, but I saw Mel S suggest a colored outline, which is a great idea. Maybe do gold/silver/bronze based on how you rated the books?

For the which books you've read, you could look on etsy for clear sticker paper stickers with script that says "read", so you can still see the full cover through the sticker.

I used to start notebooks all the time but about 3 years ago resolved to stick to one at a time and to complete them whenever they naturally filled up. This means, however, that I am jealous of this idea of dedicated journals by topic like your reading journal! Oh, and the only notebook I've allowed myself to use has been by rhodia partially because I love the paper and also to try to curb my notebook acquisitions. Watching a bunch of your notebook reviews as I consider whether my journaling goals should change in 2021!

I have been seriously considering starting a reading journal specifically so all my book thoughts can be captured in one place. I love looking at yours, it has given me a lot of ideas. Thank you!

Can I reccommend The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes? I just finished reading it a week ago and I thought it was very exciting. It's a little bit like the movie Knives Out, but more YA. It's really fun and there's some mystery and romance as well :)

I’m such an avid reader and this really motivates me to make a reading journal! I use a bullet journal as well but that is mostly for my to dos and monthly collections. I think it would be nice to use a different journal specifically to reflect on what I read. Thank you so much for this inspiration!

I love this idea! I spend a lot of my journaling time in my traveler's Notebook, but I think it wouldn't be too bad to set aside an insert for a reading journal. I love all those vintage looking spreads 😍

I love your set up! I try to do pretty/fancy spreads, but they never come out like I planned, but it’s still fun to see what I end up with. 😁 thanks for the inspiration!
