I understand _why_ meta teams are meta, why most Pokemon Worlds end up with variations of the same team, but man... I'll always adore it when someone comes in with something very different, _especially_ when played as well as Tomoya did. Easily the best match this year, incredibly well done!
Gotta s/o Aaron ‘Cybertron’ Zheng and Rosemary Kelley for being some of the best esport commentary casters atm. This match was so hype and the excitement almost doubled bc of the way they were analyzing the plays in real time. Team Beastcoast is killing it !!!!
This was more hype because of the off-meta team but it was also a one-sided stomp. The other match was a lot more interesting to watch, with game 1 being decided by a flinch.
Robbie was really unlucky with the combination of being read constantly and the rng letting him down big time. Kudos for staying on the fight for as long as he did.
You gotta feel for the kid. I don't think any of that RNG would've brought him back into the game with how Tomoya played, but it definitely had to sting.
They should have extended this video up until Tomoya's post-game interview. His reaction to winning was full of emotion, and the selfie to the crowd was a real power move
Aaron's play-by-play commentary was ON POINT; the Gastrodon Ice Beam on the Flutter Mane slot expecting the Lando switch-in was so tempting, but Protect was ultimately better to preserve Tomoya's Heatran and Landorus check.
They cut the video at the best part lol. His winning reaction was so genuine I was really happy to see that. The feeling of satisfaction when you win after putting so much effort and his reaction conveyed it all. A great match and a great team. Well played Tomoya.
Gran hazaña de Tomoya ganando el mundial con un equipo antimeta. Jugó muy bien y encima tuvo la suerte de su lado. No pudo hacer nada en ningún momento su rival.
Actually glad that Rose and Aaron casted this match instead of masters, considering how boring it was falling to the meta and spore play, they got the real fun and to hype up this amazing one instead :) Well played by the finalists, and great job from the best commentators of the tournament!
The thumbnails are always hilarious with esports. The players look all serious been training their whole life about to do battle holding a nintendo switch like for real 😂
I am huge fan of Tomoya along with Sora, out of all of the World champions matches in the senior division, this was my personal favorite. While it’s unfortunate for Robbie, so satisfied with Sylveon winning the world championship alongside Gastrodon.
Wasn't that an actual mechanic in the Let's Go games? Where Pokémon could just randomly break status conditions or hang on with 1 HP because 'they love you so much'?
The seniors division is the age group between juniors and masters. In Pokémon, younger players share the worlds stage with adults without competing against them.
man Robbie got read like a book, this was crazyto watch live
Yeah, it was so hype live. And I'm so glad Tomoya won with his fairly unique team
I understand _why_ meta teams are meta, why most Pokemon Worlds end up with variations of the same team, but man... I'll always adore it when someone comes in with something very different, _especially_ when played as well as Tomoya did. Easily the best match this year, incredibly well done!
That’s the whole point! 🤩 Remember that guy that had PACHIRISU on his team!? That was fucking epic.
actually the hypest match of the vgc finals. tomoya is gonna be insane when he ages up into masters, his level of play was phenomenal
Tomoya usando un equipo anti meta ganando la final del mundo es una poesia.. literalmente le gano al meta completo
Hoy ganó el gaming y el competitivo 🚬🗿
And then the Meta struck back with a vengeance in Masters
En su primera batalla le salió todo. Evasión de ataque, crítico, la parálisis...
This was a much better match than the masters, great play overall
Much more original teams in seniors vs masters. And no iron hands.
well seniors has less players so I bet they didnt suffer through the logistical nightmares the masters players did.
This was more hype because of the off-meta team but it was also a one-sided stomp.
The other match was a lot more interesting to watch, with game 1 being decided by a flinch.
Who knew that a team of Zapdos, Gastrodon, Sylvion and Hisuian Arcenine will sweep the six strongest pokemon in the meta?
La magia de Pokémon.
It's called thinking outside the box.
@@sithshi9918wow incredible response. Big brain good job
Fica a dica, faça um time anti meta
I beat vgc teams with my favorite mons in the regular, not too crazy
Almost sad to see the misses and crits for Tomoya, he was winning on reads alone.
Robbie was really unlucky with the combination of being read constantly and the rng letting him down big time. Kudos for staying on the fight for as long as he did.
You gotta feel for the kid. I don't think any of that RNG would've brought him back into the game with how Tomoya played, but it definitely had to sting.
Near the end, Leaf Storm on Arcanine was a mistake, should've KO Gastrodon instead.
Also Heat Wave is a bad choice as it has poor accuracy. He missed like 3 times!
Great It's so refreshing to see something different.
A non flutter mane team and whats more with a sylveon as world champion!
Arcanine finally became a world champ mon!
They should have extended this video up until Tomoya's post-game interview. His reaction to winning was full of emotion, and the selfie to the crowd was a real power move
Aaron completely shredding the commentary
Aaron's play-by-play commentary was ON POINT; the Gastrodon Ice Beam on the Flutter Mane slot expecting the Lando switch-in was so tempting, but Protect was ultimately better to preserve Tomoya's Heatran and Landorus check.
This level of play is phenomenal!
Tomoya brought a UNIQUE team, love to see it
Tomoya is my favorite champion this year, you can see his love for Pokemon through the way he plays.
I love seeing oddball teams and picks succeed on the biggest stage, and you can always count on the seniors division to deliver. lol
Yeah super disappointed Dragapult didn’t win worlds.
THIS was the Highlight match. What a game!
They cut the video at the best part lol. His winning reaction was so genuine I was really happy to see that. The feeling of satisfaction when you win after putting so much effort and his reaction conveyed it all. A great match and a great team. Well played Tomoya.
The first time I decided to watch VGC and honestly this match made it worth the watch alone
this guy is a legend! this battle was amazing! Awesome representation from Japan! ❤
I swear if we get yet ANOTHER Gastradon VGC winner mystery gift y'all need to check yourself
Well we did
I’ll take the Hisuian Arcanine gift please! Or Zapdos.
First turn of the first battle set the tone for the set! Tomoya with the plays!!
Watching the game live in Pacifico still giving me the shivers
Did he share his team pokepaste
Will love to try it
Gran hazaña de Tomoya ganando el mundial con un equipo antimeta. Jugó muy bien y encima tuvo la suerte de su lado. No pudo hacer nada en ningún momento su rival.
Robbie definitely deserves some props for handling it the way he did. Nothing was going his way and he persevered.
Actually glad that Rose and Aaron casted this match instead of masters, considering how boring it was falling to the meta and spore play, they got the real fun and to hype up this amazing one instead :) Well played by the finalists, and great job from the best commentators of the tournament!
As a sylveon fan i am so exited that won a worlds
The amount of times the announcers said "fairy tera" without saying "terry fera" deserves recognition 👏🏼
This match was exciting as freak
Tomoya is a creative player and he made every read right
Commentary was on another level!! Got me so hyped 😂
The thumbnails are always hilarious with esports. The players look all serious been training their whole life about to do battle holding a nintendo switch like for real 😂
8:32 I wish they had the noise from the crowd from the rock slide/hyper voice. We were going NUTS during this!
Sylveon's Hyper Voice is indeed still running rampage till this day! 😆
Wow. How long until Tomoya is in Master’s? What a stomping.
I am huge fan of Tomoya along with Sora, out of all of the World champions matches in the senior division, this was my personal favorite.
While it’s unfortunate for Robbie, so satisfied with Sylveon winning the world championship alongside Gastrodon.
Why is there no in game music? Its so awkwardly quiet
How do you read someone like that?! Bro downloaded the manual and executed the plan! That was awesome!
This was such a fun match, unlucky for Robbie but Tomoya had his number all through out both matches.
Ufff el silveon aguanto ese ataque por el poder de la amistad. Siempre tuvo la suerte de su lado, dando criticos y resistiendo ataques críticos.
That was tight!
Noooo! They cut it off before he starts rolling on the ground
Wait whaaaattttt????
@@notzephy5033 his reaction to winning is iconic. Dude rolls on the floor, head in hands. Then, he gets up and takes a selfie with the crowd.
Tomoya the man
Tomoyo was literally the main character of this tournament
So glad hisuian arcanine took a W :’)
7:40 start
19:55 "that sylveon sure does love it's trainer" feels so weird when they treat VGC like the anime xd
Wasn't that an actual mechanic in the Let's Go games? Where Pokémon could just randomly break status conditions or hang on with 1 HP because 'they love you so much'?
@@KatonRyu Yes. But it's been a mechanic ever since Pokemon X and Y.
まじでおめでとー!
yooo ive been in robbies class for like 3 years noe
Many heat wave missed 😮
does anyone have info abt tomoya's ins or fb T.T he is so my type:))
With the finals that I've wachted, I'm beggining to think to Japonnesse luck it's not luck.
Maybe spell his name right? TomoyA not TomoyO
Jugo bien peto si tuvo mucha suerte al patalizar, critico, evasion de ataques, pero como todo, buena estrategia y suerte no esta bada mal
お疲れ様でした
That dude was hitting crtits and tanking all over the place, to be honest he was very lucky feel bad for the other dude
Loving the enthusiasm from the commentators...but dang, they need to chill lol
Anti-meta for the win!!!
Another gastrodon gift code is coming...
robbie got haxed😭
Ngl I expected to only see the early battle resignation in Juniors. Just lose like a man
“Seniors finals” does this mean grand finals ?
no its the seniors division grand finals
The seniors division is the age group between juniors and masters. In Pokémon, younger players share the worlds stage with adults without competing against them.
The seniors finals is a finals for players within a teenage age range (not sure the exact range but it’s around that)
@@timmtimm9729it’s 13-16, i believe, and then masters is 17+
God damn top comment spoiled the result for me 😢
why does the male announcer sound like the Pretty Much It youtube guy getting excited over another Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen movie?
That’s cybertron Zheng one of the best Pokémon players, RUclipsrs, etc.
Great commentator he’s passionate about the game
Robbie :
Game name
Scarlet and Violet
robbie got super unlucky wtf 😭
Jezus wat heb je dit verkloot robbie
Sylveon
Tomoya and Robbie are both cuties. I wanna sit on their laps.
10,000 is not enough for the VGC winners please up the winning amount. Being worth upwards of 100 Billion the amount of 10,000 is frankly insulting.
They look so awkward in the thumbnail 😂
Okay but the girl announcer sounds like a VA
Now that you mention it she does and she sounds familiar but I can't remember tbh
There's no doubt Tomoyo played well and had an awesome team that he has clearly played with a lot, but lets be honest he got VERY lucky.
those commentators... maybe chill just a little bit^^
Jogador Donkey 🤭
I dont know if Im old or if pokemon was actually harder back in the day. I could easily beat these two if I played in the present.
Very well deserved defeat for a braindead spore amoonguss user
Most of the team's Pokemon are braindead and overused too much. It's so boring honestly
Well psychic voice will ruin that now, since it prevents all forms of healing.
You know Amoongus won worlds in masters lmao.
@@notzephy5033You’d still lose to Robbie. He’d whoop your ass.
@@Dr._is_sleepy won't win it again though, as it won't be able to heal as everyone will jist use Psychic voice to counter it.
So... a Dutch player can lose a World Championship, Interesting
Robbie kinda stinks lmao bro makes me wanna start competing if he made it to finals
Make it to three Top 8s in a year first lmao, nerves and an elite opponent made his performance underwhelming
Nah he’s whoop you lmao. Still the nerves definitely got to him. Also he’s a Senior as opposed to a Master.
How can Robbie be this bad..
Nerves
This meta sucks so badly
Why with the sooo Many Switching🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
If the anime was like these, None of us would watch🙃
The guy narrator needs some training he kept monologuing for too long and screaming over the other narrator at the top of his lungs.
Do the players here this commentary?? If so what a huge let down if I’m a player
aaron should stop screaming and cracked his voice. it embarassing
His voice is annoying lol
