    Still think it’s funny that when the “old man” is driving, he lets the hammer down and has a big ole time. But as soon as Rev gets behind the wheel, he’s nervous as a cat.

    The best way I have found to clean out old rusty gas ranks is to put several hundred marbles in it and shake around awhile. I get marbles at the dollar store. Then put a little fluid (like /2 gallon of gas) and shake around which will loosen up any remaining rusty stuff. Then just pop it back in. Problem solved. Be sure to install a in line filter, but watch it for awhile to make sure. But with holes either patch or spend a couple hundred dollars for a new tank.

    Well done Dad and Son!! I would review the wiring schematics for that year 250 and match the wiring, the alternator, and voltage regulator to what's in the diagram/schematic, then it should work correctly. Same goes for the dash gauges and lights. She has a lot more power and torque now!!

    Why is it that every so called mechanic on RUclips insists on trying to get the engine to idle at 300 rpm. Good grief. It stalls every time it gets a chance. Get that idle up to 700 +. Feed it the onions. Quit using your earoscope, and drag out the vacuum gauge, tach, and timing light, I know you got em, you’re leaving performance on the table. Good catch on the gas tank with vent holes, don’t need gas in the cab. As long as you are getting a new one, get 67 + mustang tank and mount in rear.

    • @RevStoration
      @RevStoration  Год назад

    Chevy alternators make simple work of charging problems on old Fords. Alternator for 1970-1985 350, 1 wire from the big post on the back of the alternator to the hot post on the battery and key on power to the little 2 spade hook ups on the side of the alternator to tickle the exciter. Both my trucks have been swapped

    the brakes. And then you can button it up for a real test drive. Question is are going to flip it, or keep it. And how much are you men wanting to invest into it Reversed David. Thanks for sharing. 💯👊👍 God Bless !

    Tape a peace of 3/4 pvc to a shop vac. Vacuum tank out. Put rocks, nut and bolts in the tank. Shake, slide said media around, to break up rust, etc. Dump out said media. Vacuum again. Pin holes, grind outside of pin holes lightly. Use metalic epoxy puddy over pinholes. Por 15 inside of tank, per instructions. Approximately $45-$50 a quart. POR15, is a brand name. It is used in gas tanks. You do not have to buy,, the POR 15 gas tank kit. Just a quart of POR 15. Dump it in and coat the inside of the tank. Make sure to roll the POR15 around to complety coat,, the inside of the tank.POR 15 dries like plastic and can not be removed by any solvent, after cure time. I did to to a Ford Maverick tank, with 13 pin holes. I treated my fuel tank, 10 years ago. Still good.Tank will not leak. I've done it.
