My dads first car was a 1965 Mercury Comet 404. It originally had a 289 but a long time ago my dad swapped a rebuilt 302 into it that has less than 150 miles on it. We are currently getting it back on the road after 30 years for me to drive. There is no rot on the entire car and is very solid and complete. I'm gonna drive it occasionally to school and to my senior prom this year.
I remember working with my dad on the 1965 Galaxy with a 390, dam that thing was powerful! Later I brought us a 1973 Ford Grand Trino, with a 30 over 351 Cleveland C-6 transmission with a shift kit! That was the burn out King in Delaware!!!!!
Great first video for 2023. Always enjoy seeing you and your dad getting these old rigs going. Look foward to more content on this old girl. A good wash and getting her moving and stopping would be great.
I'd have loved to be there when you got that fired up... I did that with my old Thunderbird back in January 1981. We worked on it 2 days and what a feeling when it finally started and I drove it home. I was 19 and had a big 1970 luxury car around me. I smiled non stop for a week!
That was Jerry Clower. He sat behind us in church at Yazoo City Ms. every Sunday . I went school with his son Ray. We heard those stories at every team meeting. I had a 63 Fairlane same setup.
Loved the Jerry Clower story. Remember one he told about his college football playing days. They were playing Vanderbilt and their players were acting all cocky. Clower said his coach told them to step on the Vanderbilt players' hands. Since they're all going to be doctors go after their hands and they'll behave.
I can't believe Mr Wayne is in this video. RUclips Legend Mr Wayne! this is too much of a crazy coincidence. I've been subscribed to Mr Wayne's Channel even way back before I ever subscribed to Revstoration
I do so enjoy your videos so much I have so much respect for you and your father you call me old man that's fantastic you the Ralph and her because I enjoy watching both of you so I hope all the best for both of you
Love to listen to Jerry Clower on the radio station when I was a kid. I have collected a few of his LP's in the last few years. My Son's mustang has the original 260 in it. Also has the eaton power steering pump and generator. Glad to see the "Old Man" is on the mend.
i watching you all videos i like how you and your old man laugh and cut up together and have good time doing it to cant wait for you all new videos to watch
Great going Rev. Happy to see y'all again and glad the Ole Man is doing some trading. Keep the videos coming and you guy's be safe and God Bless. Keep in your prayers the Gentry family at Gentry and Sons Trucking. They lost there shop and everything in it along with several trucks.
You should consider bringing a gas can , an electric pump , and some fluids and carb cleaner along with a battery and jumper pack along with tools every time.
Watching this one on duty....nght shift yess before I even watch it ....thnx Rev and the Ole man for this upload....God bless and happy new year 🎉 I hope am on time with that compliment🤝🤝
I had a 1964 and 1965 Comet, both with 289s. They are fun and easy to drive like my old Falcon was. Just the right size. Please clean that car up and make her a proud Ford product again! Let's see the underneath how rusted it is too.
My 1st car was a 1963 Comet !! I bought it in 1971 for $400.00 ! ( This was in eastern Canada ) Same as this one , four door but 6 cyl. auto ,White over light green !!. Lot of fun in that old car !!
I bought this same 63 mercury mushroom soup looking car back in the 80s, she had the 144 six cylinder with the merc-o-matic transmission, same as yours has, except yours has a decent pump in the transmission, mine was an okay car, they are very tempermental cars, if they have worn motor mounts, either hold the brake or pull the brake, these cars tend to jump into reverse when you start the car, your old man looks my age, so he knows old fords did this, gotta love tempermental old comets!
Ooooo....Good Lord, what a Fancy Ford! (MERCURY). That unit must really fly with that V8 in it!!! I wouldn't try it with the brake delete option installed..
Hi all, yesterday was quite a day here in GA with the crazy weather. I hope y'all are okay there Butts county. We're in Upson and yesterday were blessed weather wise. Hope everything is okay for you and your family. Keep the good work coming, love the videos and family friendly format. Stay strong.
Great video! Hope your dad heals well. I'd like to see the Comet running and cleaned up, that would make it easier to decide what you want to do with it.
I personally would like to see you get the comet cleaned and a drivable car i think it would be interesting great first video of 2023 keep em coming 👍🙏🤣
Another excellent video. You did a good job on the camera. I don't think there was anyone else there who could have done so well, so we understand why "the old man" was allowed to do so much even though he should have been resting his right hand. Funny thing. When I was a kid, my father referred to him self as "the old man." So, kids were telling storied about their fathers. I started my two cents, "My old man...." and they stopped me. "Does your father know you call him your old man?" I told my father the conversation later that day and before I could get to what I said in answer to the kid's question he interrupted and said, "I'm the one that taught you to call my the old man!" Which is exactly what I told the kid. To the kid's surprise.
My God, I'm surprised you couldn't hear my wife screaming at the screen all the way from Maine: "OLE MAN, STOP!! STOP USING THAT HAND!!! STOP!! REV, STOP HIM!!' It was hilarious!
I'd like to see it cleaned up. Also like to see you take one of the vehicles further like you're doing with the Pinto. I know you have to find one that is not so far gone. Maybe the Comet is the one
Good to see you and your man out there again I missed your videos I enjoy them very much so keep them coming as much as I hope your number one fan who wants to do everything you do I enjoy it so much I'm on Old Time mechanic unfortunately I can no longer do what I used to do because of my stroke but I'm still working on my car myself a lot slower than I used to be but if I bet I'm getting it done my balls around 80 when I get to finish but it doesn't matter most likely finish the car I am happy
It looks like you got a runner, the car doesn't look too bad and the engine sounds pretty good. Great video for the beginning of the year. You guys keep up the great work and may God bless all of you 👍✌️🇺🇲
Hi Rev, & Ole’ man. Greetings from Scotland. That was some hard work there…..extracting the old starter motor was a complete nuisance, but all worth it in the end. Good video guys …..& good job getting it running.

I'd have loved to be there when you got that fired up... I did that with my old Thunderbird back in January 1981. We worked on it 2 days and what a feeling when it finally started and I drove it home. I was 19 and had a big 1970 luxury car around me. I smiled non stop for a week!

Rev when you mentioned the 260 badge I was literally about to post that I'm sure this old girl has an inline six. Heck yeah son!
I can't believe Mr Wayne is in this video. RUclips Legend Mr Wayne! this is too much of a crazy coincidence. I've been subscribed to Mr Wayne's Channel even way back before I ever subscribed to Revstoration
Mr. Wayne was a character for sure.. Didn't know he had a channel!
My mom had a 1963 Falcon with a 260 V8 and three speed on the column. It was a four-door. It was a quick little car for me to drive as a teenager.
I do so enjoy your videos so much I have so much respect for you and your father you call me old man that's fantastic you the Ralph and her because I enjoy watching both of you so I hope all the best for both of you

Didn't want to say much. But it was a fire at Gentry's.
Hate to hear that. Praying for them as they recover from the tragedy!
You should consider bringing a gas can , an electric pump , and some fluids and carb cleaner along with a battery and jumper pack along with tools every time.
Lets get her running, driving, and stopping. Give it a good cleaning too! She sounds cool with the 260 V8. Good seeing you working with your Dad!
Watching this one on duty....nght shift yess before I even watch it ....thnx Rev and the Ole man for this upload....God bless and happy new year 🎉 I hope am on time with that compliment🤝🤝
That's not a bad old girl I mean its all there, tart her up Rev and may God bless you all.

Hey Big Al... hope all is well with you a d yours. Happy New Year!
top starter bolt : use a long extension and go in over the crossmember. I've had a long extension in my toolbox for years for this exact situation.
That sounded great and ran smooth , amazing after sitting for so long .
Really enjoyed the show!
I still want your dads Wylles pick up truck!!!!!

You guys are awesome and I like the videos slot. I had carpel tunnel surgery like 30 years ago and mine grew back like 5 years after the surgery so let your dad know please.
I had a 1964 falcon the same color as the comet it also had a 260,it was a good running car like to see more of it on the channel
The 363 must be in the same diamond field as a replacement parts bronco…😂
That 260 is perfect for your Pinto wagon.
Can't just leave it there, Rev. It wants to go. 🇬🇧👍
easiest way to get top bolt on starter is a long extension and slide it between the motor mount and engine block
Looks like one worth fixing. Would love to see it.
Great video
