      Doesn't look like the Stage 1 mount though I thought? They did use a Mk3 chassis to test a few other guns I think

      He did say it would be the only one in the world and theres a FV4005 at Bovington Tank museum. So it could also be a Conway or something along those lines

    there is finally a chance that the 4005 would be restored, and it makes me tremendously happy as that thing has memed its way into my life. if there was any chance for me to have even taken a part in this, i would've done it without question.

    This is a Priceless demonstration of trying to get age-old tank running and going through one step at a time and it's really cool your demonstration on the mag and how that was able to work so acutely and efficiently. I'm a Automotive mechanic and this is way more than just a will it start!!!

      agreed, but i think whistlin diesel does know his stuff, bc lets not forget tht fr the first few years of hid chanel all the work he did on his cars/trucks were done in a garagewith very limited tools, however i do örefer whistlindiesel fr the lols

    Impressed by the determined, and methodical approach to get this old girl running. Lovely piece of military vehicle history, as you say unique. Thank god for the Foden, nothing seems to defeat them, such a shame that as a company they are no more. I sometimes wonder who has the most fun, us watching or you guys , probably the latter!

    My Dad would have loved this. He worked on the Mk III prototype just after the war. He fabricated the return roller and assembled the running gear.

    Awesome video, I like how much detail your starting to go into now, I think a head or chest mounted go pro would suit this style really well and you can film with less cuts and keep your hands free, a bit like diesel Creek or Marty T

      @@MrHewes Nah, chest cams never point where you want them to, you can never be sure what's in frame so you might miss sequences, you can't simply move them closer to things for a closeup, etc. They take away all the spontaneity of recording because you're always thinking about the bloody chestcam. They can work with really wide angle lenses and enough pixels but you'll spend many hours zooming and panning in your editor afterwards.

    For a young chap you know so much about the tank engine with so many ideas to get things working I have a 1945 fordson tractor and will overhaul the mag the same way you just did and see if I can get it to spark again

    it wasn't the 120mm chieftain gun test bed. it was the NATO 140mm gun upgrade test bed (in response to the soviet FST1 tank which later became the T14 armata)

    I remember seeing a platform like this at a tank barrel proving ground what i mean is AS90 barrels were proofed for service on platforms like this big charge in it park it up n let go by remote the ideea being if the barrel goes boom its above the tank chassis nice though keep it up lads

    Just a thaught, you have driven enough tanks and fighting vehicles up to now.
    Would you do a video to tell or show us what it’s like to drive a tank.
    It looks so claustrophobic with the hatches open.
    I would love to see what it’s like when a tank is buttoned up for fighting.

    Glad to see it running. Would it be a better investment to keep it as a pre production test piece and restore it like that rather than modify it? I assume there is someone who would want it as a piece of Centurion history or is there no market for that?
