The hitting mat, ive got the one with a heavy rubber base and doesnt move alot when hitting, it also give you a much darker hitting feedback so it gives you so much more visible feedback
I purchased the mat (or something that looks exactly like this one) about 2 years ago. I use it indoors with a net. I also took a 1/2 piece of plywood and fastened the mat to the plywood with plastic tie-wraps. That keeps the mat in place and gives excellent feedback on my strike. It all depends on how you can fasten the mat to something, but I suggest something that is firmer underneath as opposed to the ground. I'm in the US, so it may be slightly different material, but sure looks the same.
Yeah seems like there are lots of versions of these mats online, I can certainly say that the cheaper versions are not great! 🤣. I’d guess that some of the more pricey ones would work great
My expensive Accustrike mat lasted just a few days so I stripped off the thin green felt and used Gripfill adhesive to stick it to the underside of a thin rubber backed carpet tile. I don’t think it would survive many full swings but it’s works really well for chipping and short pitch shots where you really need to see where your low point is. It’s therefore great for those people who shank these short shots because the mark left on the felt shows where the club bottomed out or moved outwards giving a heel strike.
Hi Chris, I purchased the mat mid last year to use in front of my net in my yard. Secured it to the turf with the 4 pegs via a rubber mallet (as my ground is firm being next to a golf course) and after the first half swing both ball and mat ended up in the net. Great concept, poor at best construction. I’ve had to edit this after discussing it with my wife and she commented that I’ve purchased more “training aids” over the last 10 years that I can remember that have all ended up in the rubbish (except a return putting aid) which is in my office at work.
Great idea to test some cheap aids. Maybe another time you could test some more expensive ones or some speed sticks as there is a lot of choice at different prices and everyone wants to swing a bit faster.
My kids gave me that hitting mat for xmas. I found the feedback was quite decent TBF. But its such a pain to get it not to move after every strike that its really not worth the effort. As others have stated. If it was heavier or more easily secured, then maybe.
I have the hitting mat and the swing aid for hinged wrist. The hitting mat is a little better than yours but I can’t keep it in place on a swing either, needs much heavier backing. The swing aid I’ve used but fortunately I have a pretty good hinge so there wasn’t anything to fix. I need a way to take a divot in front of ball, any ideas?
Yeah I think there are various versions of the mat and I’d guess the more pricey ones are a lot better. My guess would be weight shift in respect to getting the contact, may also be worth checking club face as that can really influence the swing
My mean brother gave me that exact cheap mat foe xmas! (id asked 4 original) 1 the mark made was either dark green or light green so could hardly see it ! as opposed to green with white marks 2 poor quality,i destroyed it inside 2 weeks! he did say they sent him 7 by mistake bit dont think i will bother Best training aids i have used for years 1 a yard of thick rope 2 5ft strip of wood like a giant ruler for putting Both cost just a cpl of quid! both have helped me being called a bandit! which being 63 with a crap swing and a ridiculous 5 hcp is a bit rich!
Not really, plenty of info on what the products are but very little on exactly how to use, set up, practice etc, but they were all very cheap so I guess that’s to be expected
If it has alignment marks for your shoulder alignment than it’s a great aid. I bought an expensive one the cameron smith one and it helped my putting dramatically.
Personally I’d look to spend a little more and get a good one, I use the Puttout ones abs they are worth the extra. More durable, small spikes to hold them in place, the mirror doesn’t scratch as much, you get the gates too etc etc
Thanks for nothing Chris... Now I've got a bug to go spend some real money on quality training aids... damnit man... Amex soon to melt and it's all your fault... ;-) Good stuff. Thanks!
@@ChrisRyanGolf Leadbetter had one that strapped your upper arms with your chest, it was alright but the figure 8 gave me more freedom. It helped me ensure a shoulder turn and kept my triangle intact for the duration of the swing. Everyone's mileage will vary, and I think we all need different ingredients for the correct recipe.--Keep up the good work. Cheers from NYC
@@ChrisRyanGolfyou’re right. For someone who struggles with their grip it would be helpful. Personally i would save the $10 and just look at some pictures of a good grip.

Yeah I’ve definitely seen much better versions around, which I think is why I had high hopes, but just couldn’t get it to work at all

Agreed, there are much better version of this mat around, but obviously the pride goes up, but just shows that cheap is very often no good

Yeah I’d like to do that and review some that are more likely to have some value rather than these cheap ones
I have the accustrike mat and pegged to the grass it sorted my swing path out for sure. Pay a bit more for quality and worked a treat.
Yeah I think the more expensive versions are a lot better

I bought the wrist aid when I first started and it helped me a lot! Setting it up is a pain though!
It is, that’s what I found, tough to get onto the club in the first place

Has anyone seen the golf training aid for putting called The GloPro Firefly? It's insane!
Great information…. thanks 🙏
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Best training aids i have used for years
1 a yard of thick rope
2 5ft strip of wood like a giant ruler for putting
Both cost just a cpl of quid!
both have helped me being called a bandit! which being 63 with a crap swing and a ridiculous 5 hcp is a bit rich!
Agreed that this was poor quality, shame as the idea is great, just not executed well at that price
It's possible that the descriptions on Amazon might help with instruction on how to set up these things. Maybe Maybe???

4:55 😂😂😂😂
I know 🤣🤣
Padraig Harrington uses one ... so a grip trainer cannot be that bad?
Does this work for a left handed player??
Most of them will apart from the first one which was the grip device, that was for right handers only
@@ChrisRyanGolf Hi what traing aids for left handed golfer's are out there?
Good that you can trust your friends… under these circumstances, my friends would have bought sex toys 😂😂
🤣🤣 don’t give him ideas for the next one
What do you think about a cheap putting mirror?

Great video Chris I am really surprised Jo knew what he was doing 😂😂
I’m pretty sure he didn’t 🤣🤣
This makes a refreshing change from another bloody driver review! 😂
These are a lot cheaper too 🤣
The cardboard box that those came in is a better training aid.
🤣 very true, I should have added that in at the end as a ‘bunus’
You just saved me a bit of money.
I would certainly be saving my money rather than buying any of these 😬
Thanks for nothing Chris... Now I've got a bug to go spend some real money on quality training aids... damnit man... Amex soon to melt and it's all your fault... ;-) Good stuff. Thanks!
Most of these things are sooooo expensive.
The only one that has actually helped me over 40 years of golf is the Elbow Straps, go figure
Yeah I can definitely see why they could help some

To be honest, i don’t like any of these products. Do they actually help someone improve? Not really.
You don’t think a beginner golfer just starting out wouldn’t find the grip aid useful?
