Seiko is number one....I own rolexes....Seiko delivers an will out last a Rolex any day...I had a 50-year-old Seiko 5 buried under 3 ft of snow for 2 weeks.... I found it when the snow melted ..I picked it up.. gave it a little shake and it was good to go.... At that point I was very impressed I took it into the jeweler and had a new Crystal put on it a sapphire crystal and now I want to put down a screw down crown.... On the other hand I have a Rolex that I was wearing when I was sailing and the bracelet popped open.... I almost lost my Rolex into the deep blue ocean..... I never understood what the hype was about Seiko watches when I would hear people talk about them.... my ego was set on a Rolex..... But one thing is for sure the Seiko brings me great joy.... The house of Seiko is not giving away their secrets for their amazing dials.... They just keep producing amazing watches.... So now I collect Seiko watches because they're so amazing.... And I get a thrill out of choosing a different watch for a different outfit or different event.... And I find great joy in knowing that the choice I made I am not sacrificing any quality at all..... Have you ever seen a Seiko watch full of corrosion???? Well I haven't... If you're buried under 3 ft of snow for 2 weeks at 4300 elevation..... I'm going to say you passed my test for sure.... But I get a great deal of Joy when I see the Seiko on my wrist... I kept trying to force myself to like my rolexes... I finally thought okay I'll go straight up and maybe get a dial that I really like.... When I went back to go trade up my Rolex the dealer only wanted to give me an eighth of the price.... Well I'm not a rocket scientist... I'm not a mathematician..... But it was pretty obvious that I was not getting a fair deal..... I've had issues with both my rolexes and I've never had any issues with my Seiko..... SEIKO IS NUMBER ONE!!!!!
Well said bro! Got my Seiko skx033 bought 1996 still working with me, full of scratches on its crystal. Never change it cause the scratches remind my experience working with my Seiko...still wearing it.😃
SAME. I bought the grey/black thinking I was in love. but when I realized my Regular work wardrobe was blue, then I looked up and fell in love with rhe navy blue . The grey/black is still going to be my go to for when I wear my charcoal grey suit or similarly coloured and dress code outfits
Glad I found your channel, your taste seems to be similar to mine, probably partly as my wrist is close to yours in size and I study mechanical engineering and I I do really enjoy material science and the more nerdy watch talk 😊
What’s the difference btwn this model SNXS77 and SNXS79? The one I’m looking at with the same lumi dial and hands are the same as this one. All these Seiko models numbers are hard to figure out. Thanks
I don't understand this bracelet bashing, other than the folow the leader type of complaint. I have the snxs 79, and after sizing the bracelet for my wrist, it totally comfortable, stays in one place on my wrist, and looks perfectly fine. I also don't feel the need to park my vehicle in backwards either.
@@johnfranklin5277 If you are fine with the bracelet, please by all mean, keep it. You and I clearly have different standards. Now if you excuse me, I have leaders to follow. 😜
I am sorry to be the the voice of dissent but the true poor man's Rolex is the Orient 3 star line. Even at this very moment there are a dozen 3 star Orient models at my local AD (FAB00005B9, RA-AB0022/23/31/36 and others) which are cheaper than the cheapest Seiko 5 (XSNKK09K1), all at under 120 USD, while the SNXS77 is 135 USD. I have been tempted to buy an SNXS77 or a similar "5" several times in the past few years, either for myself or my wife, and each time I wound up buying the Orient equivalent, some of the reasons being: - held side-by-side, the Orients seem better built, there are alternating brushed and polished surfaces with good finishing and pretty good segregation between brusing and polishing. - any 3 star Orient sits better on wrist because it does not have a display caseback and this makes them at least 1 milimetre thinner. Adding to the thinness is the way the lugs curve down on most modern 3-stars, as opposed to the Flying Saucer design of the Seiko; - 50m water resistance vs. 30m; - despite popular consensus, the bracelets are NOT identical in Quality and Feel, the ones on the Orient being slightly less jingly-jangly and with better fitting end-links, which fit to the case without gaps, while some Seiko 5s show such gaps. - from what my watch-service lady tells me, Orient's movement F4902 is easier to work on and it is just as long lasting as the 7S26 (she's been servicing such watches since the '80s). Very soon, though, I will buy the SNXS77, because I want one in my collection and they seem to be fewer and fewer available, as opposed to Orient's 3 stars, which are still everywhere. Also, Orient has taken up the role of super-affordable watch maker from Seiko and they are releasing new cheap watches every year with better and better specs for under 120 USD.
My Seiko 5 is excellent. I bought it in 2004 from Kualalampur and still its service is outstanding. I don't have Rolex but I've 3 Tissot, 2 automatic 1 quartz but I love my Seiko 5. Monirul Islam Dhaka, Bangladesh. 28 Jul 2024

No way. Rolex much better. Doesn’t take away that Seiko gives you a decent product for the price, but you can’t compare it to a Rolex.

I prefer the seiko because it has the day date.
I have the SNXS 73, 79, and just got the 77, I can’t believe I didn’t get the blue dial version first. Pictures, and videos make no Justice!
Where did you buy the 77 watch?
Jealous I'm so jealous you got them all

SNXS77 for the win ! This watch is a winner for the price !And that dial is superior to Rolex !

Different colour. The 79 comes with a dark grey (anthracite) dial.

Fantastic video! I have that seiko and must say I love it but the bracelet really is quite bad so I am thinking about changing it.

@@Bhethar just ordered the snxs79j1, what issues do you have with the bracelet? Is it easy to swap that out for a better quality bracelet?
What about the weight of both?
What a beautiful Rolex!
Also dial could be swapped into more thin body of 393 model

If only the seiko 5 can hand wind. Then it can be an awesome Rolex op homage. Haha
You can easily replace the stock 7s26 movement with a nh36, it have hand winding and hacking. They are like 25$ on eBay.
@@DonAlvaro14 are the movements the same size?
@@youraveragepasser-by7367 Yes. 95% of the parts are the same in both movements.
Actually the Seiko design came first. A quick check on serial numbers on ebay proves it. So it's not really a homage
U can try getting the seiko srpe53 which has a nh36 movement
hi you change the strap seiko ?

Are you really comparing the bracelets? 🤣One Link of the Rolex bracelet costs 2-3 times more than the complete Seiko 5...
