Nice video, I’m Ecuadorian but live in Switzerland. I was showing your video to my daughter. Just one thing, it’s ok to negotiate prices, however, don’t go for too low. It’s not fair for them either.

Thank you so much for watching, and yes I definitely agree with you on that. I’m definitely more of a compromise than a person who pushes the price down dramatically. I know how hard people work and I always love helping and making their day ❤️

I moved to Ecuador from the U.S. twelve years ago and have never looked back. I was 68. I love to hear visiters tell about their visit. Plaza de Poncho is a place everyone loves. I live about 15 miles from Otavalo and visit quite often. And you picked a great place to eat just a block off Poncho. Great food, as I have eaten there often over the years and just last week. I enjoy your videos as there is something very relaxed and friendly about you. You fit in nicely in Ecuador as here I found the nicest people in the World. Ecuador is a very special place.

if you’re gonna create content for whatever reason you can at least support the people in those videos and in those countries by paying full price for their hard work. 🙏

Absolutely! I always do, and would not go below the asking price. I also believe that the flee market is a place to bargain and it’s fun. I did not push too low and not too high, just fair price for everyone 😊

I must do an observation. Quechua is a language speaken in Peru but here in Ecuador the indigenous population speak Kichwa that is a different language. There are too many languages here in Ecuador speaken for others indigenous communities, specially in Amazonas.
Other thing, you talked about Incas. They come from Peru, here in Ecuador we have other cultures, and talking about history we had been colonized first by Incas and 50 years later for Spain, so the people make that mistake as we Ecuadorians come from Incas, but that's no true. There are different cultures in Ecuador and one of the are Otavalos.

why are you talking down prices for POOR indigenous people who are telling you it takes days to complete these pieces? in the United States those alpaca blankets are $400+ and the long sleeves are over $100 -$120 EACH !!! PAY FULL PRICE IF YOURE GOING TO TRAVEL OUR COUNTRY. you have enough money to travel all these places for fun, but can’t support local poor businesses who can’t afford to travel anywhere? $22 was too much?! that made me so sad. im ecuadorian and travel from nyc back home and i always tip. they are in poverty. shame. but enjoy more of our culture at a discounted price 👍
