I love this scene for it shows how well Ruby works under pressure. The Doctor just throws her in front of the goblin king like "Sing!" -and she sings and rhymes! -simple rhymes but still, rhymes under pressure when her baby foster sister is about to be eaten. Mad skills there. 😂

The Doctor singing back at the goblin king isn't anything new. The Doctor has always been cunning and crafty to trick the villians.

I think people only think of Clara because Jenna and Millie look a little similar. And yes, there was a mystery associated with both of their characters, but honestly, Clara had a very different personality from what we saw of Ruby so far.

Uhm, yeah, maybe to elaborate on my point about Russell, I meant that if you're a writer, you have to think about a heck of a lot, not just you own story, it's also what the fans want, and casting Millie may have been a conscious choice...? Maybe I'm wrong, but casting Millie may have been to appeal to an earlier audience... I dunno, I'm talking out my arse now 🤣 please don't ask me to elaborate on that 🤣🤣
I doubt it, the commentary for this episode has him say something like "No one has run around the TARDIS like that since Rose", when Clara did it.

If you don't like it, that's perfectly fine. I myself quite enjoyed it. Most people are so crestfallen due to it being different that they don't see the story. I find it brilliant that this doctor isn't a regen. Instead, he's a litteral fragmant of the doctors soul, meaning the struggles and challenges he'll face are going to take more than quick thinking and wit, and I'm excited to see what comes of it
Just watched "Husbands of River Song" and honestly - the silliness has always been there so I'm here for it.
I do hope we have a scene soon of Ncuti's Doctor rocking a serious speech. IMO that's when you know if they'll be a good Doctor.

This is a great fun episode. It’s interesting how they introduce a villain that eat children. It does make you wonder a few things I’d you really think about it but the episode isn’t about that.

This was this episode's highlight (along with Ncuti's overall performance, of course). Other than that I was underwhelmed on my first watch, I may need to give it another go to get another perspective on it.
In all fairness, even David's first episode The Christmas Invasion was bit underwhelming as well

UUGHHH, We stopped at 'Doctor Who: The Musical' but it seems bad ideas never go away. But it is a catchy song never the less. Besides, it's Murry Gold, he's the best with Who music.

Oh that's right disney And doctor who are now connected. Of course there would be a singing moment in Doctor Who now. To me doctor who died the day Peter Capaldi and Steven Moffat left it literally became a completely different show after they left
to be fair, the christmas episodes tend to either be really amazing + touching, or very camp + silly, so i think the little music part isn’t that out of character haha. he did amazing in the giggle episode + stole the show, so i think we should wait for his new series to actually judge :)
(though i do agree, the last few seasons since capaldi left have been AWFUL on all fronts- writing, pacing, storyline, characters, personalities, etc 😖)

Fine with the silliness, hate the campy singing. “Diddly deet” will haunt my nightmares almost more than the song about eating babies. I hope they never make an entire musical episode. It would be one long cringe.

Ncuti Gatwa, Millie Gibson and David Tennant have all jumped ship and left Doctor Who (Gatwa is focusing on theatre work, Gibson is looking for other film and television projects, and Tennant is now back with Marvel Studios).
Two Doctor's plus a companion gone, and the effects work on Gatwa's second series has only just started. Just shows how bad the show has got thanks to RTD's and Disney's involvement. For me the show ended with Capaldi's 14th Doctor (Jonn Hurt was 9, Eccleston 10, Tennant 11 & 12, Smith 13). After that nothing is canon.
Ncuti and Millie have already filmed two back to back seasons and are in active contract negotiations. So saying they’ve left is objectively false.
Booooooring.
Of course Tennant has left, he's not the doctor any more. They specifically filmed the upcoming seasons in a way which allows them to do other projects in the meantime, they've filmed two series already which gives them 2024 off- there's no indication that they've left doctor who or jumped ship.
Yet amazingly, here you are, still watching and commenting despite your supposed disdain for the show!
