This is an awesome sounding system. No we will never be able to hear the correct sound stage and music separation through the internet but you can get an idea what they sound like in person. I'm glad you have the money to buy and enjoy what you love. Nice matching of amps to the speakers. Why work hard in life if you can't buy and enjoy what inspires you. The haters are the ones who are jealous that can't afford it. Beautiful system!
Of course you can't judge quality through a video due to too many variables, but I always like these videos for new test track ideas~! I am familiar with these in person though, excellent system!
Crazy good system right there. That was definitely some of the best sound I’ve heard as far as music after it’s gone through the RUclips “filter”, so excellent job on your part, Terry. Of course I was pretty impressed with that tiny little B&W box! It obviously had some help from those beautiful B&W spkrs and McIntosh components, but still. Such a wonderful setup with awesome synergy! I had a chance to listen to 804D3 and 803D3 and it was the best sound experience I've ever had. I want the 804D3 so bad... Paired with Gato DIA-400S amp it sounds like audio heaven to me :)

Question: if I have e Turntable, with build-in phono amp. a very modest one though, could I use the B&W as a booster to my existing soundsystem? You know the phonoamp. on my turntable turned on, and then rca cable from that into B&W and then RCA further on into my existing soundsystem? As a improovement?
Accurate to the point of being dry. I could easily spot a B&W speaker blindfold. You can see why studios love them. You either get the voicing or you don’t. They all have an ultra neutral sound. I prefer something, for want of a better term, more organic. In fairness there are better dacs, and yet I don’t think the sonic signature would change significantly with something more exotic.

I could never relax to the 800D3.After my bad experience with B&W's best I will never buy again from them. The Viginti's from EGGELSTON are on order!
Brilliant Sound cant be a bad thing either way you look at it - and for you to hear it sound brilliant back through a recording on RUclips think about A. how it had to sound on the day and B. how good is the man AKA me for being able to record and capture it and then present it - Yes your welcome :)
Ive always loved the sound quality of the 800 series. But in this room...too many hard surfaces. Should have used a carpeted room and a room with acoustic treatments on the walls. The sound would have been that much better. Not that it sounded bad. Just no where near to their potential. Helped that you used a good mic to record the sound...
What I heard is a very very clean system with a bigger than life sound stage and imaging but sounded very electronics. It sounded like the music is coming from the studio with the music chain going thru' tons of electronics in the entire post-production process. The system doesn't emit to the listener a sense of realism that is emotionally engaging! My deepest apology, really wish to give great comments to this amazingly expensive system!

You should have played with another DAC as well for comparison. Perhaps an Schiit Yggdrasil or why not a Benchmark DAC3 (two that I am considering purchasing).
I was there for a Bowers & Wilkins event so that would have been a little unfair I am sure you will agree. In the evening I did swop the source for a 3 component Esoteric Stack and at about 10000x the cost there was an improvement in the sound

Plug each of my testicles into those amps and it'll sound the same or even better. People just buy expensive gear and "make sure to pair it" with gear like 1000 dollars more when they could have just got a pair of kef 3001se or something and gotten the same exact quality with the same source material and amps. It's a lesson I learned a long time ago.
How is it I can get a good feel for the comparative quality in these systems and other nice systems over cheaper amplifier's you've reviewed yet I'm listening on a lowly 8000a (connected to my computer with a Dac Magic 100)with Polk Bookshelves from the 90s. Do high end manufacturers do some mojo to the sound that's just very pleasing to our ears and psycho acoustic parts of our brain, and for that reason is the sound really as pure as we are lead for believe? Either way, your videos have me itching to upgrade my system, you have me sold, now I've just got to sell the wife.
RUclips is just a data medium probably the biggest one in the world so there is no issue with RUclips, compression is not ideal but people still listen to Spotify on their hifi right??. If you have a good monitoring system it will tell you a close truth to the original recording the same as your hifi system. I bet there are people standing ther laughing at others for listening to a whole orchestra on a small pair of hifi speakers - see the irony of that and this is no different. Its recorded audio and the play back of it which is what hifi is 100%
Funny you should ask...I owned the 802D2’s . I listened to the 802D3’s. My heart sank...the D3’s were sooo much better in every way! Inner detail, dynamics, soundstaging, presence, low level resolution and bass definition and extension. They will arrive soon 😁

Why don't you try watching the video using a good audio playback system - maybe try using some good headphones with your iphone and your experience with this video and a lot of my videos will make a lot more sense as to why I spend the time and the money on some fantastic recording equipment.
You must use headphones. You also have to "imagine" being in the room... Try to do that and if you can you will notice if the sound is good or not. This is obe of the best channels to enjoy hi fi that most of us would never heard. Congrats Perfect Pusrsuit System 🙂👍
there is no such thing as overkill amplification for a 30K pair of speakers, at this point u have to be on mono block, the difference is insane compared with integrated
When I said overkill, it wasn't about coupling these amps with such hungry for amps loudspeakers, it was for the type of music which doesn't overwhelm the system. Price wise they were made to each other TC.
I just listened to a set 800 d3 with macintosh amps, considering how much they cost, I was not impressed. Very little Bass Don't get me wrong, Music was clear but my ride home in my Audi A6 was better experience. The 804 D3 was better.
more bass does not equal better LOL I have heard these as well as over 70 pairs of speakers from 2,000 to 80,000 in person and they are phenomenal - so either they were set up incorrectly or you have zero taste in what actually sounds good

There is acoustuc treatment on every wall but its designed to have a rt60 time that is on the higher side
