Ironicaly the first Boeing engineer who designed Boeing first mass produced, the legendary model C, was Wong Tsu, born in Beijing in 1893. You can see his biography in Museum of Flight in USA
Not long ago, western countries and Japan put fairly strict restrictions on export of consumer drones to China. Now one Chinese company DJI sells more than 70% of the consumer drones in the world. Sometimes, it is the mindset. I don’t believe that any big nation cannot overcome any technical difficulties. This is especially true for countries like USA and China. The only possible thing that can block a big country to move forward is itself. Outside containment and resistance can only make a country stronger. Don’t even think that Washington doesn’t know this. The game is largely played by big cooperations. We who have the power of voting are only the onlookers. Cheers!

I think the plane will sell well in China. China will soon be the largest avaition market. The C919 is also a great plane and could be seen in Europe and the Americas in a few years. The c919 is fuel efficient and it has a cheap list price. The only issue is that the c919 is unproven. For example Airbus couldn’t sell planes in the United States for a few years. Airbus ended up allowing Easteren Airlines to use 4 prototype a300s for 6 months at no cost to prove the plane. The avaition industry is a challenging industry to enter in every way.

This a tough business to get in and only Airbus and Boeing manufacture large commercial jets. A commercial jet conducts numerous flights, so it has to be reliable far more than a rocket in space or a fighter jet in which there might be one pilot who might be able to eject. Passengers in a commercial jet can't eject or use parachutes when there is trouble.
It's not about the plane....it's about how cheap a deal it can be....and how much money it burns while landing

What happened to Mitsubishi MRJ?
Americans don't like the smaller airplane to fly away from their control .Japan is supposed to be a follower of the big brother .
Misinformed video. Comac uses mostly imported components because aviation is a highly regulated industry. So in order to get FAA approval, you can only use American parts which are already approved.
China has a military aviation program. They could easily build 95% of all the components used in the plane. The only thing they can't successfully build right now is the engines. But that could change as well, since they are working on developing the CJ1000 engine which is roughly equivalent to the LEAP.
