I wish they had old creativity (e.g. turn-around-furnace) but still new design and building techniques (e.g. more detailed stone walls). Awesome video!
I fully agree! Old sets really did have better play features, a lot of which have been replaced with stickers. Some of the sticker details are nice, but they take away so much at times. The fireplace is kind of lame as a sticker, I wish there was an actual flame there, or a full egg piece to set inside the cauldron at the very least. I do get why the designer(s) were trying to create more room inside the hut, but Im sure a little more could have been added. Thank you for complimenting my video as well, I appreciate you!
Absolutely! And even though I don't think it counts as a real play feature, I really like that you need the key to open the old door, plus it just looks so much better since it's not just blank. Then again the oven mitts and portraits are cool details as well, so they both have their pros and cons. Already looking forward to the next set comparison!
That's very true, I also really like that the doors were able to open with keys! I very badly miss chrome pieces in general, although they do wear down pretty fast. I haven't built any of the original H.P sets in at least a decade or more... so it all feels incredibly nostalgic! Thank you so much, i'm glad you're excited for the next video! My next comparison will be for the Forbidden Corridor, and Fluffy Encounter! I'll be having a fun time drawing Devil's Snare for the next backdrop too!
On a side note, I think the portraits are really cool... I just wish we got different tile sizes and shapes for picture frames, and not ones slightly resembling chocolate frog cards. The oven mitts are probably one of my favorite things about the new set, I thought that was very well executed!
Oh yes, I love your backdrops! The oven mitts are such cute and imaginative details, like there used to be in the old sets. They just make the whole set look alive and like the designers really spend time on it. I‘d love to know your favourite HP set, personally I really like the 71043 Hogwarts, sadly even though I don’t own it. I just wish there would be an option to maybe open up the back instead of having it open permanently.
